Having 28nm chips taped out would be a step in the right direction. Explaining to some extent lack of dividends, justifying hopes of 2014 deployment. Per se not a game changer but very, very heartening. Let's hope it's true.

i don't think they will scam  Shocked

i got 3 payments
...

Everyone is getting paid, for now. That's not the point. The point is that these are all long term investments, promising a return that would make anyone investing a relatively low sum multi millionaires within a year. It just aint realistic. Once they've obtained enough investments of 1000's of dollars they will shut down. Remember, each investment you make, they can finance their daily rates with your own payment for over a month, so don't be surprised if they're gone in 3 weeks, tops.

Yes, practically 100% sure it's a HYIP that will make payouts until ... it stops.

One thing is pure trolling. Recognizing reality is something completely different.

I am amazed by the fact that there are always some shareholders who are openly hostile to the second group and are bashing every one trying to discuss problems/week aspects by accusing them for all evil intentions like 'talking down' shares. Such approach limits useability of this forum.

However, I admit that in current 'machiavellic' reality that surrounds most of us it's quite difficult to keep objectivity. Good luck guys.

As for my personal position, I thought I made it clear, I bought AM because there is a chance of real turnaround. My time frame is about six months and if there is no news in the next 2-3 months then I will probably sit down to reassess my approach. I don't speculate short term. Just try, from time to time, to tell what I think about current situation. Sorry, but the truth is that if AM doesn't provide good info in the next few weeks then shares will most probably fall.

Frantic reactions with void accusations to any posts mentioning real dangers just show extreme nervousness among shareholders. I remember someone attacking someone else for mentioning that AM is a speculative investment. Uh, people calm down.

Disclaimer: I plan to try to increase (and not reestablish) my position during any setbacks in the nearest future. I will do this unless I'm forced to reassess my stance towards AM which actually could happen at any time based on incoming information.

Down she goes to 0.22BTC as we speak. Great opportunity to load up on cheap shares before rocket launch folks.

About to go into the teens now after another overnight dump of shares. Say "Good Bye" to 0.2xBTC/share, hello IPO? The roller coaster continues for those that have the stomach for it.

Yes, this move could touch IPO, especially if we don't get any good news in September.

fat

If firecat's plans have come to fruition and a weekly dividend is reinstated the first dividend would, I think, be larger than the rest. It would be fun to watch how the market deals with that.

I always imagine the first dividend to be something like 0.06 and everyone's like "oh that's gotta be a monthly dividend now, but it's still an incredibly awesome dividend!" only to discover, a week later, that it has in fact been a weekly dividend Cheesy

This would be ... hmm, wait a minute, 0.06 per share per week gives 24kbtc paid by AM. Roughly equivalent of 80% of total network weekly output.  Roll Eyes  Cheesy
Would be wonderful but impossible to sustain.

So, the anticipated pullback is here. The situation is in some sense quite interesting and can be used as example to show that there is no the only one right approach.

Case 1.
Someone bought into AM around 0.15 as a speculation on approaching dividends. FC made the salon and announced 'hopefully August'. Then buying ensued and share price roughly doubled. Up to now no dividends, so natural reaction of such person is to sell at any profit he is able to squeeze out. Remember, the first reason for his speculation was approaching dividends. At this point his investment is a success and he simply moves on.

Case 2.
Someone bought into AM as a speculation on real turnaround. In such case his time frame is about 6 months  (starting from June/July) and current situation should be seen by him as an opportunity to increase his stake.

Case 3.
Someone bought into AM either during IPO or later for the purpose of long term mining or chip, miners production. There is absolutely no reason to do anything.

What's really interesting is the fact that all three individuals could still be successful! The question is: will they stick to their strategy or not? But have no doubts, just sticking to your strategy does not guarantee that you will win. That's why wise money management, patience and cold blood are all so important.
Also, difficult part of the puzzle is to distance oneself from the green-eyed monster - someone's luck or success should never influence you or feed your greed.

Overall, investing (or money management if you prefer) is not, for large majority of people, a suitable way of making one's living.

If he (FC) treats his own words seriously then the first dividends are not that much important - except for a little hiccup in share price of course.
If, for example, AM needs funds for massive gen3 deployment and as fast as possible gen4 development then I will gladly wait a little longer.

This should be HYIP

Yes, most probably. A lot of them invents a story like forex trading or something else.

@bpb - you'd have to somehow convince us that it's different this time.

We are working to bring it back up soon. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Anyone care to speculate on the size of the upcoming div? So far I have no clues

Could be that a little of disappointment is setting up regarding first dividend(s):

a) we could see no payment until beginning of September,
b) network hashrate no longer on the fast rise as e.g. a week ago,
c) AM could be gathering funds for ASAP production & deployment of gen4

All this could lead to a) monthly and b) not awesome dividends in September and October. Anyway, I'm waiting impatiently  Undecided - especially for gen4 related news.

Just stumbled on this:

Here some talk about the article: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740951.0

He (FC) also said first dividend(s) could be paid monthly.

First payouts after 3 years?
I'm not sure if it's legit or not and if legit then competent enough to deliver but 3 years sounds to me like an epoch.
I have merely scant idea (if any at all) what bitcoin ecosystem will look like in three years from now. So, plain and simple, just stopped to analyse. Good luck.

Such selling urgency, especially in current situation, seems suspicious - why to accept 0.255 if you could easily get at least 0.28? Oh, and 796.com didn't even budge.

This could have been malicious use of someones account.

More likely that the BTC-USD fell below their stop-loss and they cashed out what they could

Yes, perhaps.
Given rather low liquidity on Havelock it would probably be more efficient (less costly) from the point of view of a speculator denominating his investments in USD to hedge against adverse movements in btc/usd rate via leveraged positions on btc exchanges allowing such trading. However, let everyone decide for himself  Smiley

I think dhenson raised here very interesting aspect:

Lower btc/usd price surely can have positive impact on the most efficient players (hopefully AM included Wink) simply because it hurts more weaker competition. Of course at certain point (low enough btc price) AM could become the victim - hopefully this point is far, far away from here.

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [Cryptostocks] Scrypts Mining - legit or just a SCAMM? on: August 13, 2014, 10:22:38 AM
Little doubt it is scam.

As for this:
Possible one more scam on CS - https://cryptostocks.com/securities/147

they at least provide an address and registration data. Maybe someone from the Netherlands could visit them?
Anyway, with current Litecoin price swoon their pricing seems unprofitable.

Let the man work. He has said he is independent and is working exclusively for shareholders to get the best outcome. Business in real life is hard. Misses are part of the journey. I'll be in for the long haul.

+1

Recent rise could have eaten a lot of short term upside potential but if AM's turnaround is for real then gen4 coupled with new deployment capabilities could be spectacular.

"Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful" - Warren Buffett
Still not a good reason to buy junk.

Not implying AM is junk, but using such a catchphrase without turning the brain on is quite dangerous.

Sure, AM needs more than dismal mood - it needs real turnaround (or signs of it).

Though current desperation among at least a part of shareholders makes it a bit more interesting speculation on possible turnaround.
I have no idea if the turnaround materializes - maybe quasi-failure of gen3 persists? But then gen4 should not be that far away.
FC's track record goes for, fierce and merciless competition against.
