its worth a shot. I like the name. ask a Btc Dev if you can take over the thread and I will hand it over. otherwise, I would suggest creating a new ANN binarycoin reborn, etc... or new development....
I agree. You should open a new ANN thread. Also, welcome back! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Guys i'm thinking of taking over this coin and re-launching it. What does the community think?
How does a relaunch work? If those of us who mined it don't lose our coins, I'm all up for it. The dev left binarycoin for dead anyway. ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif)

Reviving the 66 coin might be an interesting proposal: noted, but it deserves a bit more attention and time to investigate and assess a concrete advice. I will get back to you soon on this subject and state my position about that. In the meantime, just to clarify to you all, the project for the new coin and the related opportunity for the 66 owners goes on as scheduled.
Can we build new project for all the people not only owner of 66 Coins. Then If we revive the 66 and modified it to get rid of premine and so on. Yes!!! That premine should have never happened! The original dev (menzo) had premined 4.54% of the coins but never did much of it besides giveways.

Ok. On the case then. First of all we need to agree what is the coin going to be used for. Then we have to decide on how many coins. We need to do something completely unique here. I have know idea what coding skill everyone here has I personally don't have any. I know what I want to see as functionally in the wallet. What I have seen so far is just ridiculously simple no vision. I think a great looking and functional wallet in which you would be able to do a lot more than just send coins in and out, and do some POS is vital. So depending on what we have as programmers is very important for what we can implement. I want reveal what I have as an ideas for that here. If we reach agreement and make a team I will discuss than then. So let's make small team of 5-8 people plus the community as start. Then discuss what we can do about Algo, Coin wallet functionality and so on then let community vote. Afterwards implement do features. So If you want let's make new threat and start voting for team members first.
Agreed. Even if 66coin is revived instead of a new coin being created, the wallet must have something special with different graphics like the ones used by Worldcoin or Flappycoin. A visually different wallet shows that the dev is not just copying and pasting a generic code. More options than just sending and receiving coins is a great idea too!

So, what is our direction? Reviving 66coin or using it as a starting point for a new coin with 100~300 million units?

Hello there, I'm really happy that the proposal for the new coin is supported by so many of you. This surely stimulates the development team to work with yet more passion.
So, firstly please let me thank you all for sharing your ideas, feelings and suggestion: all of these are and will be evaluated with great attention, assuming that good ideas come from knowledge, background and - very important - by sharing our proposals and speaking our mind to a wide community. And this replies to Marty1972.
Secondly, to reply to Frangomel, let me clarify the most important point: this is a NEW coin, it's not a swap or something derived from 66. Who would join in a community that is named after and looks like a project that has just failed because of a management suddenly set to zero, thus causing all of us lose money and time? Nobody, I presume. We will turn the page. Then, about the other questions, I confirm that the development and support team will be introduced along with the coin, in order to start working immediately in the right way: taking care of the customer and never leaving him alone. But for the moment, please understand that currently they are working hard and it's best to avoid stimulating them too much; it's better if one person, me, acts as interface.
As such, thirdly I want to reply to SaintFrantic. The team has its management that drives the development process, and all are spending their time and investing their money to create something good, taking all the risks for that. On the other hand, it is paramount that the team is always open to endorse and implement each and every good proposal coming from the community, through a positive discussion like the one happening here.
And lastly, please let me remind that you are not taking any development risk, you are not asked any donation to the team or something: you participate to the discussion, get continously informed about what is happening and, in a few days, you will be given the possibility to use your old, unfortunately dead coins to get brand new coins managed in a more fruitful way. That is your opportunity.
Finally, hoping I've replied to all questions, I would like to start debating about the first topic (other ones are coming soon): the coin metrics. With regards also to what already shared within the community, only 66 total coins is not a winning idea. To "feel" the richness you need far more coins. So, the orders of magnitude for those values are thought as follows: - 200-500 million coins - 50-200 coins per block - around 2 blocks per minute - difficulty updated after every block.
Those values are meant to meet an optimistic forecast where 1$ equals 10-100 coins, and blocks (that is, coins) are distributed quite quickly.
Looking forward to receiving your opinion about the above, I thank you in advance for your time.
Looks nice. We have too many coins in the billions. I would vote for a max of 100 million coins, but anything round like 200, 300 or 500 million is fine. I think having devs who care is most important, just look at Dogecoin, they even sponsor sport events now!

my friend just set up a block explorer at www.binarychain.com. I build and design coffee shops that double as brick and mortar digital exchanges while specializing in commodity based digital currencies. Our gift cards earn 5% monthly payback and are redeemable for 1 coffee or 1 USD or 1000 BIC. We have a number of bounties and services that accept BIC and soon all of our transactions will be run through Binarycoin. for more info, please check out our website at http://theohyeah.com www.binarychain.com does not work, but binarychain.com (without the www) works.

Hi segaazel,
Absolutely true my friend. Regarding everyone's contribution I could happily say "Every Little Helps"!
Thanks! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I'm in. I can only mine on weekends with my single 280X because electricity is not cheap here in Brazil, but I hope my tiny amount of 0.0813 66coin can help. It's so sad both 66 and ekrona are dying. ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) It is really weird that pikimunga vanished. In the early days of the 66 takeover and even before that he was so active and always replied every message left for him. He would not abandon the community without saying anything.

Now that we are past block 45000 does this mean we are in a fork? If I mine now I will lose the resulting ekronas? Is Forkpool in the correct fork?

All,
icanprogram has updated the repo in the original thread with the new source. The fork block is 45,000 and is coming very soon. Please update ASAP.
A new windows wallet will be ready today as well, stay tuned
Where is the wallet available? The wallet was supposed to be available yesterday. Where is it? We are in block 44,800 already!

Fantastic news! Will the new wallet have the new logo and the new spelling (eKrona instead of Ekrona)?

It sounds like icanprogram contacted the developer but has yet to hear back from him on fixing the coin :-/
Any news about the wallet updates?

That's Great ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Awesome! I've been away for a while, but I'm going to make a new blockchain explorer soon! Awesome progress guys! Great! Will you keep developing the coin? Your site has a certificate error. Look, I've said this before, don't use https! And yes, I will keep developing. I'm working on an android wallet now. Are you going to update the OpenSSL version used in the wallets? blackbinary.nl and binarycoin.info are offline.

Does this OpenSSL bug affects the newest 66 wallet? The Bitcoin wallet was updated to fix the OpenSSL issue. Are we safe?
My wallet is not syncinc since block 80066 too. Are new nodes needed?

Does anyone know if the KGW exploit and the OpenSSL bug affect the eKrona wallet? These kind of issues are why we need an active developer.
|
|
|
is iit complicated to be a dev on a coin? i am a web developper
i really want this coin to survive!
We need someone to fix the wallet if this KGW bug thing is a problem for eKrona or at least show up and explain to us who can't code that everything is ok. That is not "holding the dev hand", that is concern for the time and electricity all of us spent into mining this coin! The other coin I follow and support, 66 coin, was in a way being abandoned by the original dev just like eKrona. It was saved by one member of the community. His name is pikimunga and maybe you can talk to him to see if it is too difficult to maintain a cryptocoin. You can see here the 66 coin thread started by him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493987The original thread was locked, but if you want to see how it started, this is the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=433358.900. Thank you and good luck!

Any nnews from Pengar?
No reply. Did anyone go to that swedish altcoin conference on april 3rd? Also, eKrona fell to 200 satoshi at AllCoin today. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

I'm not a programmer. I just found out this by reading the swisscex post today. I'm just giving the news to the forum. Have not Pengar gave the dev position to someone else? Who is in charge of the wallet now?
It is still Pengar as I know. Thanks! I sent a PM to Pengar about this. This coin is slowly dying. We need an active dev ASAP. I said weeks ago that this coin needed an active developer(s). Other coins have developers who are making POS apps, Android wallets, and other things. This coin could have really capitalized on the 'regional coin' trend. The coin has no active developers nor does it have anything on social media. Getting a coin on an exchange doesn't help. That's where alts go to die. The coin needs to serve a purpose and then value follows. Without an active developer(s), the coin is doomed. Exactly! bitcoin is updated now and then by the Bitcoin Foundation while we don't even have a proper dev since Pengar said he does not have time to maintain eKrona. Now with this KGW exploit it would be nice to hear something from a proper developer or maintainer. I sent a PM to Pengar yesterday about the KGW bug and did not get a reply yet.
