Jack told me "soon"

We need it quicker though

Anyone got news about the new firmware?
24  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Warning Invalid argument supplied for foreach() on: February 22, 2014, 01:43:32 AM
It can be any pool especially if you are gonna use scypt only mode. (you just need the info in there)

I attached one miner to see if everything is working. The miner spins up and lights blink. However, I get the error message at the top of the webpage:

"Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /www/class/miner.class.php on line 414"

The controller recognizes the miner (Name: LTC Miner 1:8, and changes depending upon which slot I plug it into). The status of the miner is "offline".

Any thoughts on how I can get it to start mining?

For the script pool url, I am using: "stratum+tcp://crypto-coin-pool.com:3333"

Ok, so I've solved this based on what I saw on this post by velvethammer2 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421921.900).

Here's what I did:

1. I added in my LTC pool info (just 1 URL/worker/pwd)
Ex:  stratum+tcp://crypto-coin-pool.com:3333
      myworker.1
      mypwd

2. I added in BTC pool info (same as shown in #1 but for a BTC pool)
NOTE: Do NOT check the box for "enable BTC".  Just add the info in the fields.

3. Click on "Save and Restart".

4. Count to like 5 to ensure the save is done.

5. Turn off (or disconnect) the USB hub from the controller.

6. Pull the power cord out of the TP-Link controller.

7.  Count to 5, then plug in the power cord on the PT-Link

8.  Make sure it starts up fine, the Dashboard shouldn't find any miners attached to it.

9. Plugin the USB hub of miners.

10. That's it...it should work and the error message will no longer show at the top.

I'm able to start mining now! :-)

I had Jack's tech log in and turn it off.

Anyone know how to fix the 10 minute restart issue.  Someone earlier mentioned they had a problem where the units would shutdown in 10 minutes if one of them wasn't hashing.  Seem like the timeout is too low as mine are stuck doing this now and I'm at work so can't restart them and bring them up one at a time.

Some thoughts...

- I got the gold fins

- mine was missing the USB hub, Jack said he will add an extra one to my next order

- When Jack's programmer turned off the "reboot after 10 mins if no shares found" for me he SSHed into my controller.

- 850 MHZ seems like the best setting for now.

- I believe you can do firmware updates by clicking on Update firmware when you log into the controller.

- They have a lot of firmware updates planned.

- units take 1 - 6 mins (ish) to start hashing.

28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC miner, 1THS(1000GHS) Bitcoin miner, 950W. on: February 20, 2014, 05:43:51 PM
I did not get a hub..  Sad
I bought this one (10 port) and it works great was like $24.00
http://amzn.to/1fkcryY

850 Core Frequency (MHz) is working best for me right now.

I got a hold of the devs on the timeout issue I was having...
It looked like this:
[2014-02-20 03:06:37] Device downtime (LTC): DiedBus=1:4
[2014-02-20 03:06:37] All process shutdown - dual 3
[2014-02-20 03:06:37] Close the USB controller power
[2014-02-20 03:06:38] Open the USB controller power

Basically all the miners would restart every 10 - 40 mins (ish)

I was testing on different pools including some coin switching pools.

The way it works now is if on of the 10 miners does not submit a share within 10 mins all of the miners restart.
He fixed it for me. (bad news is no auto restart now if one miner dies)

They will fix it in the next firmware update.
They said they will also give us the ability to turn on /off or set time limits on rebooting miners.
And, they will make it more stable, bug fixes + graphs.

I hope they will add the ability to add backup pools.

Here is a pic they sent me and said I could share...

Here is an update:
Received my LA3M today Smiley
Everything needed to run it was included (except instructions, and a 10 port hub)

I downloaded all the PDFs and Firmware updates from Jack's 1st post.
And, I could not get it to work.
I got a hold of Jack and it is a lot simpler than I thought.

1st do not use wiibox.
you simply goto the ip your router assigns the controller.

***Here are the steps to get it up FAST.***

1 Wire the controller and link all the cables. (I did just one first and then went back and did the other nine)
2 determine IP
3 goto IP in browser
4 add Scrypt Mining pool info: url, name, pwd
5 choose Scrypt Mining core MHz
6 check Scrypt Mining enable
7 add SHA256 Mining pool info: url, name, pwd (miner will not work without pool info added for BTC mining)
8 uncheck Sha 256 (make sure not enabled)
9 click "submit and restart"
10 refresh to see updated stats

I ran into one error:
 Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /www/class/miner.class.php on line 414

But, that may have been due to the fact I was trying to run it without any BTC pool info.
I unplugged the control box and clicked "submit and restart" again and it went away, I have not seen it since

Please let me know any questions...
-j

Notes:
- Works on 240v and 120v
- My LTC Miner 1:8 took 9 mins to start hashing (has happened on multiple restarts trying to play with Core Frequency (MHz)
- No backup pool option yet but they are working on it
- No firmware upgraded needed now, but if u wanna upgrade firmware use the upgrade form on the page, there will be new bins soon
- Core Frequency (MHz) 750 - 850 seems to work best so far... will keep adjusting/playing with it.

How do you calculate maxcoin per day?

Profit calculator and convertor for Maxcoin

This does not work. I mined with constant speed for 24 hours and the returns were only a quarter of what they claimed. Expect a 4th of what it says.

was pretty close for me

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: February 17, 2014, 09:39:23 PM
On middlecoin some are doing less rejects with

"queue" : "5",
"scan-time" : "1",
"expiry" : "1",

and others with

"queue" : "5",
"scan-time" : "5",
"expiry" : "15",

Has anyone tested this with Clever?

Higher rejects are just cost of doing coin-switch business. The pool is having overall 8.5% rejected shares today (varying between 4% and 17% depending on hour), which is up from 6.30% two days ago, but it's also earning 0.0156 BTC/day per MH/s today (stats for 15 hours since midnight UTC) while Middlecoin is performing at 0.0069 BTC/day in the same period today with 5-6% rejects. Every pool has its own coin-switch algorithm and is doing things differently, which is why you can experience different rejected ratio on different pools using the same hardware and the same settings.

I will be deploying EU server soon and doing some other tweaks that might reduce rejected ratio for some users, but generally, I am very happy with the results and I'll trade +2% rejected for much higher profits without a blink.

Great to see overall hashrate growing. We always could use some more. If you're happy with the pool, please tell your friends about it. Thanks!

When can we anticipate the Linux version?

We are working hard on Linux version software. And hope to release it some time in next week.
We have a Linux version software now actually. It works in most case when do a single device mining. It has some issues on multiple device mining, especially on beaglebone black board. Because a issue in USB to serial driver, Only 5 devices can mine together on beaglebone black board. The good news is we have resolved this issue yesterday. We changed the communication API from COM to pure USB api. This change requires a cgminer upgrade and code merge. It takes time. The latest development progress: Today, we have confirmed that on beaglebone, more than 64 devices can mine overnight stably.

In summary, we will release a cgminer in next week. It is based on cgminer 3.7. Please stay in tune!

Very cool

I am running 37 with 0 issues. I had 38 but had to send 1 back RMA.
Happy soo far. As soon as they finish the RMA I will be buying more.
