Could you try as follows: [1] Exit monerod [2] Delete p2pstate.bin (on Windows it's in C:\ProgramData\bitmonero | Linux & Mac OS X it's in $HOME/bitmonero) [3] Restart monerod with the following command: monerod --block-sync-size 20 If you could give your operating system I could give some more detailed instructions (if aforementioned aren't sufficient). I've restarted the machine, fsck-ed the filesystem with no errors found and it looks like it's still stuck. I'll try your suggestion now. |

Was there something special about block 1200002 ? I have a daemon that is stuck on block 1200001 for a few days now. I recently found my monerod was stuck at block 1288639. Then I realized I was still running 0.10.2.1.
With this hard fork would you recommend deleting the blockchain and letting it sync from scratch? Are there any gains to doing this, as with previous versions?

i've checked my spreadsheet, payout log from mining, and transactions -- still missing 3. on a positive note, i received .5 xmr from an anonymous person, whomever you are: Thank you! Check the transactions from mining pools in a block explorer or check against your wallet's received list. Some of them might not have gone through. You might want to narrow it down to whether you're missing some inputs or there's a payment (or more) that you don't remember making. In case of the latter, someone might have gained access to your wallet and sent a transaction to test things. |

Just checked after a long time to complete the process and i'm still missing 3... Oh well. No worries. Eventually i'll make it up with my 500 H/s mining  3 XMR is a lot to be missing from any wallet, no matter how much there is in there. Unless you had hundreds of transactions and forgot to account for their fees, I suggest you look into this discrepancy. Check again all payments you received and sent. |

OK, here's another technical question: How do I programmatically find out at what block height the network is at? Interrogating (with get_info) a daemon in the process of syncing only shows the last block the daemon managed to get to, but not where the network is. |

Or just run one at home, either on your regular computer or an old laptop. Unlike masternodes, XMR nodes do not require a static IP nor particularly high bandwidth at this point (in the future if and when things scale up that's a different story but for now it is easy).
I've been doing just that for a long time and up until a few weeks ago I used to see a pin on this map: https://monerohash.com/nodes-distribution.html (only one with a node in my town) Now I don't see it anymore. I've checked the daemon and it seems to be doing fine, have even restarted it, just in case. How can I tell if it is actually part of the network, if I am helping Monero with my node, or just wasting energy and bandwidth? |

If you have AES-NI, wolf's miner is usually the best. THere's another one called YAM, but you need to have a better sense of what your CPU architecture is. Easy enough to figure out, but still.
