#Bitstamp turns off its accregistration, login & all virtual currency withdrawal functions as a precaution following recent OpenSSL news.
Also the trading is still working and there is no huge dump. So obviously the API users (such as me) dont give a fuck.
Oh and btw nice unbiased poll as usually ^^

I just bought the bot and I got the basic so I could attempt to understand it before I really jump in. It seems I'm limited to only 5 coins on cryptsy though, is this simply related to the basic bot (meaning, if I upgrade will I have access to all the coins being traded on cryptsy?)

Thanks all!

Also, are there any key or recommended tutorials for setting the bots up initially?
I think this site is a good start:
https://www.haasbot.com/trade-server-help/

It also has an article about activating all alts:
https://www.haasbot.com/alt-coins/

And Stephan has posted some basic strategies to get started:
https://www.haasbot.com/basic-strategies/
https://www.haasbot.com/drop-loss-strategies/
https://www.haasbot.com/basic-rsi-strategies/

The backtesting function really is a nice tool to quickly review how such strategies work.
I hope this helps you.

So i recently ran into a problem with my bot getting stuck while i was using the procent price change -Insurance. This was caused because the price rose after my last sell and wouldn't come down again. Of course i can just make the bot work again by manually buying but it would be really nice if the bot would be capable of doing so by its own.

I tried to set the insurance to wanted rise 0,88% (twice the fee) and wanted drop 0% because i hoped that the insurance would just ignore the wanted drop in this case thus making the bot able to buy higher. Unfortunately the backtest showed that this is not the case and the insurance really requires the buy price to be at least the last sell price for the bot to work.
Dynamic roof in wouldn't work for me either because i find it quite hard to tune it properly (it often triggers on sudden spikes). So my question is: Would it be possible to have the dynamic roof in/dynamic drop loss be adjusted each time the bot trades rather than each x minutes? This would be really nice. It would also be even better if we were able to choose to delete the last buy/sell prices when this triggers rather than just buying/selling so the bot can go back to its normal work.

EDIT: I just saw that you can choose to have the insurance only check the sell signals. So that is solved for me. Anyway the things i mentioned about dynamic roof in/drop loss above would be really nice imho.

Can someone who has used this bot for a while give a review for me? I'm interested in purchasing it but reading through this thread all I'm seeing is bugs, errors, setup so complicated it's making people "want to puke", and people losing coins which is disappointing. Is this just because the only people who speak up are the ones having problems, or is it just best that I wait and maybe look elsewhere? Granted it does seem like they put a lot of continuous work into it and time into the support, but is it really worth 0.9 btc? And if I do get it should I buy a smaller package, or will I be missing out on vital features by doing so? What indicators are excluded in the beginner & simple packages? All I've found is that some are excluded but not which ones which is unsettling. I'm only looking to trade one coin on one exchange. Trading bots just make me so uneasy, they have the potential to lose everything you've collected in no time flat..
Well the bot is not without flaws but it's getting better and i got to say that Stephan and his team are really giving their best to quickly respond to user requests and/or problems. They have proven to be trustworthy and are constantly working on the bot. To me this is gold within the crypto community.
So far this is the most easy-to-use bot i have tried since you don't need programming skills to make it work. The auto-tune feature is really nice and as far as i know this is the only bot that has something like that. Yet it isn't perfect and we can't know if it will ever be, even though Stephan wrote about further improvements and i really believe him that he's trying, i am just not sure if its possible Wink Still as with all bots it will not just magically make profit for you. It requires a lot of tuning and a lot of knowledge about TA. The propability of  finding a feasible strategy with just playing around is quite low and also every strategy needs constant tuning.
So far i haven't been able to make this bot profitable but this is due to my own lack of knowledge rather than the bots fault. Once i have finished my master thesis i will seek to gain deeper insight to this ("Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets" by John J. Murphy is already lying on the side of my desk). Once i have done so i will report back if i could make the bot profitable if i find the time to do so.
Yet still i am happy that i have the bot and make use of it for drop-loss/roof-in purposes while sleeping - makes your sleep much healthier Wink

So its up to you if you want to purchase it. It really depends on what you want and how much work you are willing to put in it. Should you decide to buy a licence i would recommend buying the simple or beginner licence as you can still upgrade to a higher licence for the price of the difference as far as i know.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Listen to MACD and do the opposite. on: April 02, 2014, 12:35:10 AM
Agree. It just seems that this specific indicatog gives you signal when it's too late. Sad
Well i guess that is due to the nature of the MACD since it is trend following. But i think this problem can be ironed out by tuning. Have you tried using other combinations? On Bitcoinwisdom you can set them under Settings -> Indicator Parameters. Maybe you can improve your results by playing around with this a little bit. A quite "famous" combination seems to be 10/21.
EDIT:I also remember reading quite an important fact about TA: Somebody said that they will never be right 100% of the time, so a good indicator will propably just give you good signals somewhere between 60%-90% of the time (Please note that these numbers are made up by me!). Thats the reason why you always need to set up a drop-loss threshold for each trade depending on how much money/coins you are willing to risk.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Listen to MACD and do the opposite. on: April 01, 2014, 11:55:59 PM
I am quite new to TA myself but as far as i understand it a MACD crossover gives a buy/sell signal but this shouldn't be used a alone. You should rather use several indicators of different types and trade when most or all of them agree on a signal.

With the new version i still have problems with bitstamp. The bot executes the orders and eventually tells me they were filled and changes the coin position but my wallet amount doesn't change at all. When i log in to Bitstamp i see that no order was received at all. At least the message that my trade amount exceeds my wallet amount is gone.
This problem was solved for me by Stephan. So i got to say: Thank you very much for the great support  Smiley
Anyway i just wanted to let you guys know that the problem was that my trade amount was to small for the API to process it even though amounts that small can be traded manually at Bitstamp. So if you have a similar problem you might want to increase your trade amount.

When i log in to Bitstamp i see that no order was received at all. At least the message that my trade amount exceeds my wallet amount is gone.

I have also got some problems with the backtesting function. It seems to give me completely random results. I let the backtest run, clear my statistics, switch back the coin position to its original state, change no settings at all, let the backtest run again and get completely different results. The results range from nice profits to huge losses so i really can't trust any of these results at the moment.

Another problem is with the auto setup of indicators: For some indicators this works, for example MACD. I add the last x prices and press auto setup, the graph and the tuning of the indicator changes. For others, e.g. Aroon the graph does change once i press auto setup but the indicator settings won't so i can't really comprehend what the auto setup actually did.
29  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Haasonline Simple Trade Bot For BTCe and Bitstamp[Main topic] on: March 22, 2014, 04:53:19 PM
So my bot just tried to sell and i got the message: "The current trade amount (0,005) exceeds the current available wallet amount (0,0)". When i checked my wallet the bot showed the correct amount. So i went to Bitstamp to see if the order went through and it never even reached Bitstamp. So i sold the coins manually to check if an amount that small could be traded and it worked. After that i received the message: "The current trade amount (0,005) exceeds the current available wallet amount (0,00493760)" which is nowhere near my wallet amount.
I checked the permissions of my API again (which has been created today) and it says:

Balance
Open Orders
Cancel Order
Buy Limit Order
Sell Limit Order

Am i missing something?

30  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Haasonline Simple Trade Bot For BTCe and Bitstamp[Main topic] on: March 22, 2014, 02:04:23 PM
Hey Stephan,
I am currently testing the Auto-tune feature and haven't been able to make it work yet. I am trading on Bitstamp using version 0.9.9.1 of the bot and Windows classic interface (if that matters). As you described earlier i only setup the exchange, currency, trade amount and the indicators at the update speed i want to use. Then i press Auto-tune and i get two possible results:
1. The indicator settings aren't changed at all. The trade history shows that the bot wouldn't have been profitable.
2. The settings of some indicators change to impossible numbers (such as -4711). The trade logbook doesn't show trades at all.
Could this be due to the current downtrend? And if so isn't there a way at all to make use of the Auto-tune-feature when a downtrend is going on?
Thank you in advance.
Hpotsirc
P.s.: Some of the indicator combinations i have tried out:
MACD-Histogram/MA-Histogram
MACD/RSI
PPO/RSI
MACD
MA

Hey I've just been away for a few days and now the Server seems to be offline. Any news on that?
32  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinUO - The first Ultima Online with Bitcoins! Free BTC on: February 26, 2014, 11:03:55 AM
Is this on beta ?
Yes. If you want to, you can join us testing Wink

Hey guys,
I just wanted to step by and ask if there are any news on the last issues we brought up and whether there is anything you want us to test.
Cheers

I also find the backtest behavior strange. It never seems to catch the latest prices/trends. Say I do an RSI-only backtest, with default values, I was testing it yesterday during the crash and it never picked up the  400$ trades, always the high 500$ ones, that were not even in the backtest window (then)?!? It would also consistently buy high and sell low, even when it was tested in the uptrend, after the price had rebounded. Huh
I guess that is due to the nature of the RSI indicator. As far as i understand it this indicator is not meant to be used alone but in combination with a trend indicator (such as MACD). You can use BitcoinWisdom to visualize the RSI indicator quickly. There you will see that if you use only this it will give you bad trades quite often. I also read somewhere that RSI+MACD fits sideways markets rather than trending markets (such as we're having right now) but since im not deep enough into this i can't confirm this.

@Stephan: Since this is my first post in this thread i also want to say that i really appreciate your work. I've been using STB since last december and have also tested an alternative. What i have learned so far is that it is really hard to tune a profitable bot and requires constant changes. Your work really seems to be going towards making this process easier, or even possible at all for people that don't really know much about technical analysis and i like that! So keep up the good work Smiley
35  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinUO - The first Ultima Online with Bitcoins! Free BTC on: February 19, 2014, 05:01:45 PM
razor does not work
Same for me, try AssistUO (not UO Assist!) which seems to be an upgrade of Razor and works fine for me.
skill selection on character creation does nothing
I guess its intended that you start with no skills at all.
trade skill and animal taming gains on low levels around 30 do not work at all 10+ tries
I can confirm that. I have also tamed several animals with 32.8 Animal taming - no gain.
strange server lags from 1.5 - 3 seconds not always but most of the time; its not the ping
Same here. I suppose this could be due to the number of NPCs (which seems to be constantly increasing)
moongates port to trammel and only list trammel and ilsh so there is no way back to fel
I have also ported to Trammel a few times and the Moongates work. There is a selection on the left side where you can choose Felucca, Trammel and Ilshenar. Maybe you could try some other Moongate? The ones that worked for me in Trammel are Yew, Mooonglow and New Haven.
no help from support for 3 days, stayed logged in for several hours per day with opened ticket
Stay patient. As far as i know there are currently only two people that could help you. However they are very friendly and willing to help. I think if you ask them for help here they will be able to do something for you Wink
Edit: I just figured out what might be the problem with the Moongates: You propably can't port to Fel because you are young. Just say: "I renounce my young player status" and confirm. This should fix your problem.

That is weird for multiple reasons, first of all you shouldn't have been able to GM Mining so fast, second are the mining drops, third is the skill cap. I will look into these issues.
Hm i guess Mining ist just one of the skills that rises quite fast. Also I have been Mining A LOT these last days. Other skills that are supposed to gain slow actually do. For example i spent about 16k of ingots to gain from 32 to 43 Blacksmithy.
About the ores: I have only been mining in Minoc mine, maybe thats the issue?
37  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinUO - The first Ultima Online with Bitcoins! Free BTC on: February 17, 2014, 06:00:00 PM
Hey Greg,

so here is my first small bug report:
1. The standard skill cap seems to be still intact. I bought up some more skills today and once i reached 700 i couldn't buy up any further. Also using low skills wouldn't give me any gains.
2. Even though im at GM Mining the only metals i have found so far are iron and bronze. I am not sure if this is intended.

Two more questions:
Will the cap for a single skill be 100 or will there be power scrolls? I'm asking because I haven't found any NPC offering BODs yet.
Is the stat cap standard 225 or something different?

Cheers
Hpotsirc

Sounds great, thank you Smiley My ingame name is Kurbelklaus. I have also created a support ticket IG.

It might be that it's gone if you have played less than half an hour on it since it didn't hit the save before I had to shut down the server, other than that I have yet to witness a character disappearing. I can give you some stuff to make up for it.
Hm I've been playing for about 2 days now. Already had Mining over 60, Tinkering over 50, some other skills bought up, about 5 gains each in dex and int and more than 20 gains in str. Thats a bummer, but hey its beta after all Wink I'll create a new char and make a support ticket. Maybe you can provide me with some coins, so i can buy up some skills and dont have to spend several hours on bashing birds again.
Anyway thank you for the support.
40  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinUO - The first Ultima Online with Bitcoins! Free BTC on: February 14, 2014, 06:37:58 PM
Update: I just logged in and got straight to the character creation screen. It seems like my Char is gone. Maybe because I have been online when the server crashed? Or is it possible that more chars are lost?
