Any Australian who wants cryptomall.com.au can have it. The situation looks bleak .

Mark, Aus.

What exactly do you mean Mark?

Hi Guys, Is there somekind of roadmap/planning (divided by let's say: quarter) regarding the CryptoTown (malls) and CGB in general? How is Artiface doing? when can we expect the new client?

I'm very curious..

Happy to see CGB is getting the deserverd (renewed) attention currently!

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: June 30, 2014, 12:00:15 PM

and p.s. BK_PHI, we really should be looking at best/worst practices of other alt-coins.  the community can certainly help with this!

on a side note, i overheard some co-workers talking about the jon fitch mma fight on july 5th.  they were extremely perplexed as to what nautiluscoin is ... and i was more than happy to explain it to them!

Love that co-workers were talking about the Fitch fight!!!  hopefully the momentum is just beginning.

As for best/worst practices - I agree we need to look around and see what others are doing - but most important IMO is to compete with economics - that is our value proposition.   I have a few ideas that I am fleshing out right now - but mostly I am spending time today finishing my book on Bitcoin/alts.  Of course NAUT is a big part of the book!

I think the next steps are this:

1.) Test implement PoS
2.) Update website BEFORE fight so that it clearly shows how to buy NAUT
3.) Layout long term plan - 6 months + (which I am working on now)

Great work BK!

Update on Stuck Block...again...

Mining at Bitember with 170mhs ASIC...I will keep this running until we switch to PoS

Its very frustrating but we should not be too far away from PoS

-BK
Thanks BK! :-) Look at it from the bright side - you'll be able to sell the mined Naut for several times the price in a few months and more than make up for your original investment.

That's the plan!  Except I don t think I will be a seller in only a few months....I have big plans for NAUT...long term holder
Good point. A few months is too short a time for me as well!

Good plan! Don't forget to vote: http://www.coinwarz.com/voting (almost on the 5th spot!!)

Hi Guys, lots of going lately, however the price is dropping and dropping, this could have something to do with the low volume (by design)... or am I wrong?
I'm wondering if someone could summerize the current phase cgb is in, and what the concrete steps will be for the next period.. (e.g. cgb lifecycle, availability artiface/new developers?, new client eta?, new functionality? etc..)

Excellent questions menno1986, and I understand the sentiment. I can only offer a few things:

1. The price is reflecting a downtrend that's been in play for a long time (see the latest chart posted to Reddit).  It seems that many altcoins are on this trajectory where it doesn't matter what's happening, the "market" is steadily declining. Regardless of actual fundamentals per coin.

2. An interesting twist on this would be that the price is being manipulated overall (along with other coins perhaps?) Check this link Entrenched Interests, Lost Direction, and Stagnation in the Crypto-Currency Markets We already know this thing happens in virtually every "real world" market (precious metals, foreign exchange, bonds, equities, libor, etc), why not also in unregulated internet markets?

In order to get a real handle on the most recent drive to create real value, re-read the last few Weekly updates! Smiley CryptoTown is a big part of this. It's a campaign of education and consultancy. Consider the following transitions and balances:

Cryptocurrencies overall: Obscurity – Capitalization - Mining and Speculation – Adoption
Monetary system:  Centralized (debt based fiat) -> Decentralized (hard asset backing - a new balance is found between extremes)

By helping to define and advance these ideas, we see more clearly what fundamental action will make sense. CryptoTown is the result of this analysis.

ps. I wouldn't say CGB is low volume by design (though I have heard it mentioned). Volume is a function of the utility and demand, a byproduct. I prefer to look to the gold market to draw parallels; the gold market is highly liquid because it's widely trusted and used. CGB more simply, can better withstand low volume as it's price isn't constantly used to purchase products or otherwise spend. Investors also realize that there are only ever going to be just over 1 Million CGB. Price going up or down doesn't change that.

Thanks for your insight and explanation PSD, putting all in perspective I really believe there is a bright future ahead for CGB in combination with CryptoTown.. CGB has an unique specification and it deserves to be noticed on a big scale, this will happen sooner or later!

Most of you have already seen this, but I wanted to make it official

Through a partnership between Moolah and BKCM LLC (my company) a direct to fiat purchase and conversion will be able to take place using these currencies:
AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD, SGD, USD

This not only will make it easier to buy NAUT, but it opens the door to global acceptance. I am excited about the potential traction we can get when we combine Moolah with the Fitch sponsorship.

We are in beta testing now, and hope to roll out live this week.  My personal desire is to have it launched and running smoothly by fight time.

Check out the page here:

PoS - As soon as I receive an update I will pass it along.

This is great news!! I wonder what the effect of all of this is gonna be!!
Has anyone been able to get in touch with coindesk etc.. regarding Naut and Fitch?

"Tell me, readers, how would you convince an investor to buy a 'stock' that was down 80%? Easy: you would cogently explain that that stock is undervalued.

Okay -- is CryptoGenic Bullion presently much undervalued?

Yes. Here's why:

cryptogenic currencies remain emergent. The first significant price rises were sharply reversed, late last year, by the hostile regulatory environment put (suddenly) into place by the Chinese Government.

Now here I add a detail that is easily confirmed by a modicum of research: all coins except Bitcoin tend to (a) drop further than Bitcoin does when Bitcoin drops, and (b) rise, in the mid-term, more than Bitcoin does when Bitcoin rises. Those in the crypto sphere readily comprehend the reason for this:

Bitcoin has enormous potential, but the 'altcoins' -- such as CGB -- have even more.

That potential is being realised by the day at this point, 'post-China-Attack.' Again, analysis of the data will show this: across the spectrum, the quality altcoins are beginning to pick up value, and will continue to.

So, is Crypto-Genic Bullion down 80% because it's rubbish? on its way to the grave?

Here's a challenge, reader:

drop into the community -- Bitcointalk CGB the Investors' crypto -- and you'll find the answer.

Not a bit of it!! The coin is thriving."

Well said Mark!

Wouldn't it be nice to get a new article (current position cgb is in and it's 1 years anniversary) on yahoo finance or an similar place. I think this would give cgb a lot of positive attention just like in nov/dec last year...

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: THE INVESTOR'S CRYPTO | Cryptogenic Bullion | CGB on: May 05, 2014, 06:45:16 AM
Can someone please explain the recent price development? Looking at all the effort put in CGB lately by the CGB core team and community i don't see why the volume/price is way to low (are the strong hands holding because of POS?)...

Very good, the fundaments are there!

I've noticed some small things.. the url (cryptogenicbullion.org) is not the correct one, it should be cgb.holdings ?
And the link to the madesparq project, should it be on this page (they are both on their own path)?

Wouldn't it be good for CGB to get into the news with the current status and future plans? just like a few months ago when CGB hits yahoo etc...

CGB Core Team Weekly Update – April 1, 2014

Please also see the Reddit post for further discussion.

We are please to be able to report that smooth progress is being made with both our next CGB client software update, but also with the official CGB website and Reddit presence. Artiface has incorporated the latest Novacoin upgrades appropriate for the CGB client software including coin control features that allow selecting which inputs to use when sending coins. Also expected for next release is automatic PoS check-pointing, visualization of minting, time to next mint, GUI unlock, and more. We are also in the investigating and planning stages of considering a change to the PoW and PoS logistics with the greatest emphasis put on maintaining the inflationary profile.

In the interest of open collaboration, we would like to elaborate on this topic by first describing our thoughts and progress. Two drivers motivate these investigations. One is that our current PoW block target of one minute is too frequently causing collisions with the PoS blocks. While this is not a security risk, it does cause inefficiencies in the network. Second is that while we have the chance, we would like to study the possibility of reducing the minimum coin age for minting to increase participation in the network's security. For the collision issue, we are considering bumping the PoW block time from every minute to a maximum of every ten minutes while multiplying the reward by ten. The PoS minimum coin age could be reduced to as low as daily while rewarding with a 1% rate while leaving the maximum coin age at 90 days with a reward rate of 1.5%. We very much appreciate any input or analysis that we can get from the community especially in comparison to how other coins may be doing it better.

Much work has been done to the official CGB website over the weekend. In addition to the marketing strategy, the CGB Community Powered Promotion campaign has also been formalized on the marketing page of the website. I have added brand guidance which will be expanded upon, as well as a gallery of both official CGB images and community produced content. Throughout the site and on the Reddit sidebar there is now a link to “Promote CGB! Rally Point.” This leads active CGB community members to the /r/GotCrypto subReddit, a place for posting and discussion of various opportunities and material which are of interest to those who wish to promote CGB.

The CGB Resources section of the website has been completely updated to be a one-stop shop for anything one would need, to learn about, use, and promote, Cryptogenic Bullion. The community section has also been updated but is still far from its potential. Under a section called Support CGB, we have included a link to our community driven effort to translate CGB's new website! I would like to thank spac3_invad3r for bringing this up and stepping forward to help organize this monumental task! We must ask that all community members who are able to translate our website from English to any other language consider helping us to maintain our proud history of broad multilingual support.

April is an exciting month for Cryptogenic Bullion as we look forward to releasing the new client version, completing development of the website, and celebrating the addition of CGB to the Vault of Satoshi exchange supporting direct CAD or USD exchange with CGB. In the near term we also plan to bring some more advanced new features and a more modern branded look to the CGB client software. Finally, I believe by now the downward trend identified in this chart (feb analysis) has intersected the long term 0.001CGB/BTC buying support line. In technical analysis we would expect a high level of volatility when two trends, or forces, oppose each other until a breakout is sustained one way or the other.

This is certainly going to be an exciting month!

The CGB Core Team

Great job guys! the informational value of the weekly updates is very high, keep the momentum going!
