I need to start checking the auctions thread more often, I’m kicking myself for missing this one, this was a steal of a deal.

Leaving the forum until some of the trash is cleaned up, if I ever return, which is unlikely I will sign a message.
Did the trash finally get cleaned up?  Cheesy

Vod was harassing me pretty much daily.   It just became too much work to even post here because of it.  So, we’ll see what happens with that.

28  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rmcdermott927 uses DT power to help partner scam (locked) on: November 18, 2020, 10:57:49 PM
No I didn’t, several hours ago I posted that he in fact did.   I posted the feedback before the fee was given back.   I will revise it to reflect that since fine details are so important.

So what is the reason you left him a flag?  You lost nothing.

He’s likely a scammer, probably was hoping I would just send first.   Wasted my time, and then after the deal was cancelled posted 6-8 times saying I was trying to scam him.  Most of those posts were deleted by moderators.   This is the last I am going to say on this topic because my time is obviously far more valuable than yours.   This is all the time I am willing to spend on a newbie scammers account.  He will be back with another throwaway soon enough.
29  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rmcdermott927 uses DT power to help partner scam (locked) on: November 18, 2020, 10:49:05 PM
Update:

Rmcdermott927 still claims he lost his escrow fee.  His feedback and flag are lies.

Also notice how OG always responds.  "Vod is a liar.  Look over there!"

Nice.  I actually believe that luckybit set used to be mine.  If you ever consider an auction I’d definitely bid.

I also contacted 2 other escrows, ognasty was available first which is why we used him.   As a matter of fact OG was the first escrow that me and chadams agreed on, I can screenshot my email if necessary.  It’s obvious that this was an outright scam attempt, or an alt of VOD trying to create problems.

That is not the argument.   You changed escrows to OG after the deal was made.  He is allowed to pull out if you change the deal to involve a scammer.

I’ve asked you to leave me alone on numerous occasions, I see you aren’t getting the point.

Then don't involve me in your escow scams? It's obvious you wanted my attention here.

If you honestly think I was trying to scam a $225 item when I’ve been trading on here for years, you’re even more touched than I already thought.

Flag supported.
Based on what? I don't see any proof except few words written by OP, what you need to see before supporting that flag is:

1) proof that user backed out of deal
2) transaction ID and proof that OP payed fee to OG

I am opposing this flag for now until some evidence show up, unless flag system is supposed to work like "he said - she said" system? I don't think so...

Txid’s for the $225 and a separate one for the fee.

33  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: November 18, 2020, 03:18:50 PM
1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

I got interested in crypto for the same reasons a lot of people did; we saw the early adopters get rich and we wanted a piece of the action as well.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

I had been involved in bitcoin for a while before I actually paid fiat for any crypto.  I got into altcoin mining while it was still fairly profitable with a handful of Nvidia gt 750’s and mined like a wild man.

3. How did you get on the forum?

I had to search my first posts for the answer to this one.   I had set up a p2pool node and was looking for ways to get miners to help mine on my node.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

We have a whole generation of people, who happen to be the generation with the most money, who are terrible with technology.  I don’t see my parents or aunts and uncles using bitcoin to buy groceries any time soon.   However, I think the generation that grew up with AOL and high speed internet will adapt just fine.  So in one word, the answer is TIME.

4.2. When did you start collecting physical coins - bitcoins?

I thought collectibles were silly for the longest time.  Then Luckybit started running competitions for the Kialara labyrinth.  I had never seen anything so cool!   Collecting quickly became an obsession.   I created 2 different brands of collectible coins within a few years.

4.3. What is the rarest and most expensive collectible coin?

I think the Casascius bearer bars are the most difficult to find and have some of the highest premiums.

4.4. Please tell us about the market for collectible crypto coins? Is the market increasing?

I think it is just beginning.  The creativity I have seen over the past few years makes me proud to be a bitcoiner.  I have .999 fine silver bitcoined themed playing cards and I have silver bars, coins, and even posters.   I do this for the art!

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

This is a hot topic.  I’m feel the merit system which was meant to fix trust abuse actually enabled it.  Merit is inappropriately and disproportionately given on a regular basis.

In terms of signature campaigns, that all depends on the campaign manager.  As long as managers ensure that the participants are constructively participating in the forum, I see no harm.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0

All new users should become familiar with escrow services and the escrow process.  It’s the number one way to avoid being scammed.   Many people have unfortunately learned the hard way, myself included.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

I would like to see a more balanced trust system with less potential for abuse.   A better marketplace system with a more streamlined way to buy and sell items would be great.   I would also like to see some more features that could streamline auctions, such as built in countdown timers and automatic ending of bids once auctions are over, perhaps almost like bitify or eBay.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

I’m really bad at trading.   Coins I had faith in, like RVN with its easy to use built in token system wound up being disappointing from a price and adoption standpoint.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

I live in a state where power is very expensive.   They have a tendency to estimate electric meter reads for many months at a time.    About 4 months after I started mining, I got a $2000 electric bill when they came to read the meter.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

Unfortunately I don’t know enough about it to have an educated opinion.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

It’s not necessarily the anonymity, but the option of anonymity that’s nice.  Some people on the forum have met me and know my name.  But some people prefer to stay anonymous and that’s their choice.   It’s nice to have the option of doing business without names and faces involved but unfortunately it also invites some malicious actors from time to time.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

Does Chasing Casascius and Mining Pools count? Haha

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

Like I said I’m really bad at trading so I wouldn’t want to steer anyone in the wrong direction.   But investing in Bitcoin itself would be my advice.   I think we will see exponential growth sooner rather than later.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

I think we might see $20k, and once that dam breaks, who knows where our ATH might land!

34  Economy / Reputation / User Chradams, harassment and libel on: November 18, 2020, 03:39:24 AM
I made a deal with this user, put the funds agreed upon in escrow and he backed out, claiming I was trying to scam him.  He is repeatedly harassing me and commenting on my posts, to the point where I create nothing but self moderated threads in order to delete his harassment of me.

Chradams Is an obvious alt of a user with a grudge against me.

I’m looking to buy Nintendo switch games, new or used.  PM me your best offer.
36  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Nintendo switch on: November 15, 2020, 07:05:25 PM
I know, it’s sucks when people expose your scheme

You’re obviously a troll.   Post a scam accusation in the proper forum and keep out of my thread.
37  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Nintendo switch on: November 15, 2020, 06:36:49 PM
Beware. Make sure you read all feedback for user, and if you are to deal with him make sure he doesn’t use OgNasty as escrow. Those two are known to do shady business together.

Dude.  I contacted 3 escrow providers. Where do you get off even claiming I tried to scam you.   I have made 10’s if not thousands of dollars worth of trades on this forum and a newbie member is claiming I tried to scam them for $225.   Yeah ok.   Sounds legit.
38  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Nintendo switch on: November 15, 2020, 05:27:01 PM
Bump.  Serious offers only please.

This was finally shipped along with an extra surprise for the Mrs.

Anybody got any fun giveaway ideas?  I need to think of something a little more exciting.

I had no idea that I won until the package showed up!   Thanks for the extras!
40  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Bitcoin Slot Machine Script - Now Provably Fair!!! on: November 01, 2020, 03:38:17 PM
I’m sorry.   I only sold a few copies and due to lack of interest, have not updated the script.  I would suggest contacting the author of the slot machine portion of the script, listed in the post above.   Ask if he would be willing to update it.   I can’t make any promises, but I definitely do not have the time.  I believe he has a copy of my code for the bitcoin integration.
