Oh for fucks sake!

The price is rising again, we're back to 0.0055

Guys, why has the price gone so low?

Two reasons.

1. The issues we've had with this release (most seem to be fixed now).
2. Bitcoin down and that's being mirrored in most cryptos.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | DarkSend+ Is Live! on: August 16, 2014, 09:49:04 AM

And if it is, how exactly do I get rid of that message?

Yikes, I could tell you exactly on Linux or Mac but I haven't used Windows in some time. If I recall, you would just edit the shortcut you use to run QT by appending the salvagewallet option. Something like: \DarkCoin-Qt.exe -salvagewallet

This is correct. Make a shortcut and edit the target to have -salvagewallet at the end.

@HiddenDark
Also make sure to delete everything but wallet.dat and re download before trying. That method has worked for others in the past.

Thanks guys!

All my DRK back with 21 anonymized.

I'm still having issues with my wallet, and the 20 DRK stuck as "Unconfirmed"

The balance prior to RC4 was 42.72489229

That top transaction is also out of order. Prior to updating to .31 it was 3rd.

This seems like an older bug that Evan addressed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg8353277#msg8353277

Have you done this procedure on your wallet?

Quote
If you have a long standing unconfirmed transaction, simply right click the transaction, copy the txid. Then execute the command "erasetransaction txid" in the console. After that reopen the client with the command -salvagewallet, and the money should be back.

If not, I think that will fix you right up.

I have tried deleting the transactions before, but it just took my "Unconfirmed" balance to 0 while leaving the other 2 balances the same. However I didn't
Quote
reopen the client with the command -salvagewallet
how do I do this? Is this the right place to enter that command?

And if it is, how exactly do I get rid of that message?

I really think camo is the only one left having problems. Hope you get them sorted.

I'm also having issues.

I have 20 DRK stuck as unconfirmed.

When I look at transactions I see 2 "Darksend Denominate" transactions that haven't reached the network for some reason. I attempted deleting them, but it just brought my "Unconfirmed" balance down to 0, while leaving my other balances the same.

I have now updated to .31 and the transactions are now out of order (a previous "Darksend Denominate" has jumped in front of the 2 that haven't reached the network).

go to the debug console and type in "erasetransaction <txid>" I believe you only want to do that on transactions that haven't hit the block chain yet 0/6 confirmations yada yada
Only do this if it has been sitting there for several hours at least with no confirmations AND you check a block explorer and can't find it.

We could help if we knew the TXID, but you don't have to expose that info if you can handle it yourself.

I deleted the 2 that hadn't reached the network, but all that happened was 'unconfirmed' went to 0, while 'total balance', and 'anonymized' stayed the same.

Here's an image of the transactions (without any deleted):

I'd delete everything except the wallet.dat from the working directory, then re-download a new chain. Often the chainstate info keeps it from resetting. Essentially, it doesn't ask a question it believes itself to already have the answer to. We want it to ask "why is this happening" to the network. It thinks it already knows (double spend, toll owner with annoying message for trying to double spend), so it's not asking. It should be told to bite it's own ass, but it won't be told until it asks...

At least that's how it went for me... If that doesn't work, I'm out of ammo.

Ok, I'll give that a go.

I tried that, but I still have the same issue.

A question unrelated to my previous posts.

Darkcoin is forked from Bitcoin not Litecoin, correct?

Forked from litecoin, AFAIK.

Edit: Might be wrong on this as I did not see litecoin copyright thing on darkcoin wallet.

Good point, it does say it is copyright of the Bitcoin developers. I just did ctrl+f on the whitepaper and didn't find anything about where it was forked from, and can't find anything on the website.

Someone just asked which it was forked from and I want to be sure I give them the right answer.

[edit]: It also says it is "Copyright © 2012-2013 The Peercoin developers".

What's causing some coins to get stuck as unconfirmed during the anonymisation process? I currently have 20 unconfirmed, and they have been like that from a day. And if I go to transactions there are 2 transactions that don't seem to have reached the network. Will this sort itself out or is there something I should do?

Did you update to 29?

Just prior to making post about the issue.

make sure you set it to only 1 round as well...  already checked to see if .29 fixed the multiple rounds thing and it still appears to be sticking the wallet into a loop.

I had it on 2 rounds, then 3 when I was running .26 and nothing was happening, so when I updated to .27 I reduced it to one round as people on here said to. I'm now on .29 with it set to one round and 15 to be anonymized (I currently have a little over 20 anonymized, probably due to having set higher amounts when I was using .26).

The TXes not on the blockchain should be deleted. They may be what's holding it up.

It's due to a timing issue that has been fixed in latest release. Essentially, Evan made DS+ run so fast that it was moving faster than the users. I had over 7000DRK "stuck" due tot he same problem. It's no big deal. But, if it exists in your wallet already, you have to remove them. The updated wallet will respect them, it just won't make the mistake of creating more. It's up to you to determine what needs removed. Evan's way of making sure it didn't "automagically" remove something it shouldn't, then you'd REALLY be pissed...

How do I remove transactions?

Yes. There's been quite a lot of discussion about his second to last post before.

It would have been nice to get this attention in any other context.  WikiLeaks has kicked the hornet's nest, and the swarm is headed towards us.

Nice wallet. Smiley

If I may, can't we suggest to put all market information on another tab separately from the main information tab?
I personally think it doesn't not give the right message to tie up DRK in such obvious and visible manner to USD (or BTC). It should demoted as 2nd tier information in a specific tab.
But this is just my opinion

Edit: plus it is overwhelming for a peon to see so many numbers and figures on the front page

Yes it should be keep as simple as possible. Maybe there could be an option to show it on the main tab, with it disabled by default?
