21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Road to 1sat/vb! Destination in sight? on: July 10, 2024, 01:11:05 AM
I think the current hashrate is fine, even if the price goes a lot higher.

If miners think AI is more profitable, then more power to them.

Mining (especially ASIC-based) is a highly competitive process, so eventually a market equilibrium will be reached.

If some miners leave, then the remaining miners with earn more satoshis.

I wouldn't worry that much, unless the hashrate goes back to 2009 levels, which would imply a catastrophic event.

I saw something on Twitter or somewhere the other day where someone was arguing that the block reward model will cause weaker security of bitcoin, which is ridiculous, because the hash rate is already ridiculously high. There's no need for it to be that high... society had to invent new scientific terms to describe levels of hash rate for bitcoin.

So I agree, it can come down quite a way and bitcoin's security still wouldn't be at risk.

You're welcome Wink

You'd need to post more evidence than a gif if you want anyone to believe you... looks like you've been doing this kind of thing for 5 years.

I sucked the site dry and ran TheQuack off into the sunset Cheesy

Guess the sunset isn't all its cracked up to be.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why SHITCOIN is the best memecoin (shittoken) on: July 08, 2024, 07:05:40 AM
If the hype that the OP is giving it is anything to leverage on, then I think that it might be worth looking into.

Just today in the main thread I summarized SHITCOIN's unique proposition as a memecoin:

The value proposition behind SHITCOIN is that its collectible as a "historical token". Why? Because:

1. There's an emerging market for crypto collectibles,
2. A certain class of collectors will seek out old, rare tokens on prominent blockchains,
3. SHITCOIN is one of the oldest collectible shit tokens (aka memecoins), and
4. It's called SHITCOIN.

That's like a remarkable preponderance of value right there.

This trend started in 2021, and now that some of the tokens I first made are turning 10 years old - which beats everything on Ethereum and many things on Bitcoin - I think they're going to be seen in a new light: blockchain collectibles which are truly old.

Thanks OP for bringing SHITCOIN to the front burner in this board, I hope that it reaches a new height in the alt season and joins in the ranks of top memecoins that I can invest in.

That's the spirit!
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 08, 2024, 07:01:30 AM
Hi I can't seem to find a way to access the NXT Asset Exchange in the latest wallet. The documentation says that it should be on the sidebar in the official wallet but there's nothing there. Clicking on an asset doesn't do anything. The read-only wallet at https://nxt.jelurida.com/index.html doesn't seem to show it either. Is anyone else having this problem?

Wow, no posts in this thread for over a year and a half.

Anyway, since you probably won't get another response, I'll just tell you what I do is use the web wallet:

https://nxt.jelurida.com/index.html

I know its not necessarily as secure as the client wallet but I've been using it for years and it works great.

Please bro this isn't just another memecoin, this is SHITCOIN, created years before the word memecoin came into existence.

That's like a remarkable preponderance of value right there.
26  Economy / Reputation / Re: Flying Hellfish..where’d he go? on: July 08, 2024, 06:19:24 AM
I've seen a number of people I know start to decline over the past few years, and I'm not talking geriatrics either.  People are getting beaten down, by each other or by the world itself and sometimes I think we've so slowly morphed into a swirling, hellish nightmare of constant negativity in society that it's hard to pinpoint when it happened exactly.

I think that's true; the only thing you can do is voluntarily detach from society in general, or at least the one you're stuck with. As far as the forum is concerned, I would say having good manners for the sake of signature campaigns in conjunction with the way the trust system operates fosters a level of politeness on this forum not shared by much other social media. It wasn't always that way here. Incentives are everything.

It's been years since I last heard from him. He was growing tired of the forum and then stopped logging in altogether, but I bet he's probably doing OK. Its not impossible to imagine how burnouts can happen, or that things are just more fun in real life.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Shitcoin 3.0 - First Parody Token on the First Parody Blockchain! on: July 07, 2024, 04:11:20 AM
Here's an update on the state of SHITCOIN, and a justification for why it rules (tl;dr: we're the best 'memecoin'):

Whats kind of funny is I'm primarily trying to market attraction to the ERC-20 version of the token, but meanwhile way more sales have been happening on the Dogeparty ($DOGE) side of thing:

I recently rebought 10k at the price I was selling them at, which is once again the floor price (currently 10838 left at that price).

Shitcoin is the best memecoin. I can testify to it. If you don't know, the project has made a name for itself within and outside the forum. I am a proud holder of it.

The idea behind "historical tokens" is that back in the day (2014-2016) not a whole lot of them were being made, so they are scarce, which makes them collectible -- especially if they have a good story behind them. Only now that 10 years have gone by are these things of significant age, and its something to help differentiate them from the never-ending flood of new shit that comes out on an hourly basis.

Long after the current memecoin's budget dried up - the creator sold all their tokens & the community abandoned ship - SHITCOIN will still be here. It's a testament to the commitment of the Dogecoin blockchain, part of a legacy immortalized in timestamps, and it harkens back to a simpler time when someone could create a token named SHITCOIN and have it be the first one.

I'm trying to hold a ShitcoinDAO board member election and I can't get at least 4 people to be on the board, at least for the moment, but uh, things are still coming along. Nothing stops this Shitcoin Train.

I'm sure someone did that on purpose - 1 inclusions  Grin
It's caused by theymos' DT1-update. The only thing that changed to Lauda's Trust list was an additional DT1-exclusion.

Looks like some kind of rare statistical anomaly, given that they haven't been on DT for 2 years. Interesting though that it can still happen.
32  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DuckDice Sportsbook void bets or mark as lost at their convenience. SCAM! on: July 06, 2024, 03:33:43 AM
The problem is that if my bet is lost, my friend's bet can't be void.

But they can as they are different types of bets. You had already lost your bet by the time the match was cancelled as it was mathematically impossible for Hurkacz to win by 2 sets by then. Meanwhile your friend's bet was an over/under bet which cannot be calculated due to the retirement.

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why SHITCOIN is the best memecoin (shittoken) on: July 05, 2024, 02:28:01 AM
SHITCOIN doesn't need to be bought; I'm not even personally selling it anymore. Well, there is the ERC-20 version in the liquidity pool. But that's different and I already lost a lot of $$$ setting that up. This thread is just about how SHITCOIN is the best memecoin (shittoken), because it has a few things most of these wanna-be's are sorely lacking:

- illustrious history & culture
- on- and off-chain provenance
- is actually named SHITCOIN

Really Aug 15 should be declared SHITCOIN DAY worldwide, where we all come together to celebrate and take a moment to reflect on what SHITCOIN has done for humanity.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why SHITCOIN is the best memecoin (shittoken) on: July 04, 2024, 12:05:11 PM
There's literally thousands of memecoins being launched each week -- how do you know which ones are going to stand the test of time? Well, most of them aren't designed to do that and fold within a few months, headed to zero after the devs sell all their tokens and marketing budgets run out.

SHITCOIN, on the other hand, was issued on the Dogecoin blockchain almost 10 years ago. It was re-launched with the reboot of Dogeparty in Oct 2021, and it took about 2 years for us to sell 5 million of them.

Unlike all these other memetokens, SHITCOIN is built to last. We've been around for a long time & we're not going anywhere. As a matter of fact, we recently launched a DAO, now up to 17 members. In addition you can now buy SHITCOIN as an ERC-20 token (via Uniswap) to trade it or exchange it for the Dogecoin (Dogeparty) version.

Our SHITCOIN is:

- the 1st token to be named SHITCOIN, on any blockchains
- the 2nd crypto overall to be named "Shitcoin" (the 1st died in 2018)
- already considered a historical blockchain collectible
- on a highly-secure blockchain that isn't going anywhere any time soon

Why mess around with the new flavor-of-the week every week when we are only going to be more sought-after with age?

Post #1:

Despite high inflation, locals often prefer their familiar, albeit devalued, currency due to the existing banking infrastructure. This is a common pattern in countries experiencing hyperinflation, like Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

It's true that alternative stores of value like gold, silver, and bitcoin typically gain traction when the financial system collapses or becomes highly unstable. However, this doesn't mean that bitcoin won't gain adoption in countries with functioning banking systems.

But Argentina's case is fascinating, with President Melei's pro-bitcoin stance and the recent announcements about mining bitcoin using stranded gas. This development could pave the way for bitcoin adoption in the country, especially if the government supports it.

The trend of smaller countries exploring bitcoin adoption is growing, with El Salvador leading the way. Suriname's Maya Parbhoe, a presidential candidate, is another example of a leader open to bitcoin's potential. As more leaders and countries explore bitcoin, it may become a catalyst for wider adoption.

While chaos often precedes significant changes, preparing for the future doesn't necessarily mean waiting for chaos to ensue. Instead, it's about understanding the underlying shifts in the global economy and the potential role of bitcoin and other alternative assets.

In conclusion, hyperinflation can lead countries to explore alternative currencies like bitcoin, but it's not the only factor driving adoption. Proactive leaders, technological advancements, and shifting economic landscapes also play a significant role in the growing acceptance of bitcoin.

Post #2:

Bitcoin will not always be in an uptrend. Like any asset, its value can fluctuate significantly. Bitcoin's price has been known to be highly volatile, and has experienced several significant downturns in its history.

2011: Bitcoin's price did drop from $32 to $2.

2013: Bitcoin's price did drop from $266 to $50, and then rose to around $100. It then fell steadily to $70 over the course of two weeks starting late June 2013, later rising to $1,242 by the end of the year.

2018: Bitcoin's price did drop from $17,000 to $3,200 ˛, which is an 81% decline.

2022: Bitcoin's price dropped to a low of $18,000 in June, after starting the year at around $40,000. However, it did not reach $48,000 at any point in 2022.

Recently, Bitcoin has been trading sideways, with prices fluctuating between $20,000 and $30,000.

While Bitcoin has shown remarkable growth over the years, its price can be affected by various factors, such as:

- Regulatory changes
- Global economic conditions
- Adoption rates
- Competition from other cryptocurrencies
- Market sentiment

As a result, Bitcoin's price can drop as well as rise, and it's essential to be aware of the potential risks and rewards before investing.

I think Bitcoin will keep growing, but it's unlikely to go up nonstop without any big drops. The market for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin can be really unpredictable and prices can change fast. Even though more investors and big companies are interested in Bitcoin, we shouldn't rule out the possibility of a setback.

Reaching $100K without any big price drops seems too good to be true. Instead, Bitcoin's price will probably go up and down a few times before it reaches new heights. But I still believe Bitcoin has a lot of potential and will be worth more in the long run. We just need to be ready for any ups and downs along the way.

I feel your panic…you must be in MPC….

If you're talking to me still, no I am not. I don't have to trade anything, I just exist. Having said that, if I were to ever make a move based on your posts, the prudent thing to do would be to short sell whatever you are currently shilling.

MPC Partisia is gonna be the next big thing and imo, one of the top 3 cryptos oneday.

Then on the day of the local top, after which a 70% loss took place:

Learn from the best....

Amazing. Some Cramer-esque talent required for this kind of feat. Let's take a look at what's really going on:

- It advertises 53% APR in staking (any coin that does this is doomed to fail)
- Initial token distribution is a setup for insider dumping (private sale dumping on retail)
- These types of "next gen" blockchains have been coming out in droves since 2013; only about 1 or 2 have been successful in the long run per year.

Having said that, sure, this could be one of them, but the way things are going, I really doubt it.
