21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin HEX [by Richard Heart] unofficial on: August 10, 2020, 01:31:07 AM
I heard that there was a funny interview with Richard Heart on dlive recently where he lost his temper pretty badly.

Does anyone have a link to it?

no idea but maybe this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM1Hw662Rs8&feature=emb_title

That looks like it, thanks.

#Hex is still in the launch phase. I think its good time to buy some hex  and stake it ,the price action will balance out soon

Why would anyone want balanced price action? Isn't it meant to be "programmed to pump" or some such nonsense?

I feel dumb that I never realized it worked like this.

I simplified it a bunch. The site takes a commission, and there's also the "dilution fee" to consider. But what I wrote does explain why your ROI percentage decreases as your investment increases.

When your investment is tiny relative to the size of the bankroll, doubling your investment will roughly double your returns.

When your investment is very large relative to the size of the bankroll you are already taking the majority of the site profits. Doubling your investment will have little effect - there's nothing more to earn.
23  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: August 06, 2020, 09:47:18 PM
for example if you invest 5000 btc, and there is 10000 btc total, you should be getting half of everything earned, not 0.5 earned

In that example you are getting 50% of everything the site earns. The site earns 50 BTC and you get 25 of it.

But you were risking 5000 and only earned 25. That's 0.5%.

Your return on investment is 0.5%. Whereas if you invested much less your return on investment would be a smaller amount, but a higher percentage.

How so?
I get a % share in the BR and based on this I receive my Interest..
How do I make less the more I invest?

Suppose that the bankroll before you invest is 5000 BTC, and that over the course of your investment players lose 50 BTC.

If you invest 0.01 BTC then you have 0.01 out of 5000.01 and earn 0.0001 BTC which is a 1% return.

If you invest 1 BTC then you have 1 out of 5001 and earn 0.009998 BTC which is a 0.9998% return.

If you invest 100 BTC then you have 100 out of 5100 and earn 0.98039216 BTC which is a 0.98039216% return.

If you invest 5000 BTC then you have 5000 out of 10000 and earn 25 BTC which is a 0.5% return.

The more you invest, the smaller your percentage return (assuming your investment doesn't entice new whales to play and lose).

... bring back the dooglus!

I demand it.

I just remembered this thread. I'm happy for yefi to take over doing the updates if he wants to.
27  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 FAST, fair, BTC, LTC, ETH on: July 08, 2020, 02:33:34 PM
CLAMS are JD's domain and I would never undermine JD's authority here. I respect Dooglus a lot and it's hard to overestimate his contribution to dice gaming and Bitcoin community in general.

That's sweet of you to say, but I would be in favor of you guys supporting CLAM. The more the merrier I say.

I'm hearing rumours that Ethan still thinks that I don't want yolodice to support CLAM. It's not true. My position hasn't changed since the post I'm quoting above.
28  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice on: February 21, 2020, 01:29:00 AM
But seems like mathematically it's unprofitable, because when a player loses - I as investor get only 50% of my profit taking into account the casino's fee, but if the player wins - I share all the risks with the casino on an equal basis. It means that my investment part will constantly decrease until it'll disappear at all.

From the FAQ:

Quote
For example, say the bankroll's all-time high profit is 100 BTC, its current profit is 99 BTC and players combined lose a total of 4 BTC in a round. 3 BTC of that is net profit (exceeding the previous all-time high), so bustabit would receive 1.5 BTC and the remaining 2.5 BTC would go to the bankroll.

It sounds like they are only taking their 50% profit on new net profits. So when the profit goes up 4 from 99 to 103 and the previous highest was 100, only 3 of the 4 is subject to commission. It's like the site remembers the high water mark, and only charges commission when that high water mark moves up.

I think that makes a difference to the mathematical expectation, leaving it positive.

Hi, guys i have a problem...can't sync my qt wallet, it ctuck on 2097394 block...i downloaded v1.4.17 from official site, downloaded bootstrap.dat from this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.msg9772191#msg9772191 post and put it in folder where my wallet.dat is....it goes fine till wallet renamed it (bootstrap.dat.old) sync stopped on that block...I made clam.conf and add some nodes but still nothing...on client i see a have 16 active connections... "importing blocks" in lower left corner is gone and it's really annoying because i lost 5-6 hours (in last 4 days) on this... Angry

I just updated the bootstrap file:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.msg9772191#msg9772191

Now it goes up to block 2808000 which was staked on Sat Nov  9 11:55:28 UTC 2019.

The advice to connect to a single high quality peer in the previous post is good advice I think. It solves the orphan problem.
30  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: November 03, 2019, 01:29:53 AM
This is a nice calculator to determine the chance of a losing streak of certain length over a number of games.

I don't think it's very accurate. I asked it the chance of losing at least once out of two 50% rolls. There are 4 possibilities: WW, WL, LW, LL. 3 of the 4 involve at least 1 loss, so the correct answer is 3/4 or 75%. But it somehow came up with 5/8 or 62.5%:

As soon as you decide to put a large bet on a small cash-out value, there will certainly be a red value that is less than what you thought. Maybe this is a psychological attitude I do not know.

The crash point of each game has already been determined. You deciding to place a large bet changes nothing about the crash point. You can prove this to yourself by checking the past results. Each game's crash point is completely determined by the hash of the seed of the following game.

I know that an each bet does not depend on another

This is true.

If an event  (in this case, a bust at 90x) does not occur during the time during it usually took place, then the chance that the event will occur will increases.

This is false. It directly contradicts your previous statement.
31  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: October 24, 2019, 12:09:29 PM
It would be not bad to see the statistics of a Bankroll and have an idea of how profitable or not it is to go into it.

If the site told you when it would be profitable to invest and when it wouldn't, why would anyone invest for the unprofitable times?

Maybe you're not understanding the concept of gambling. There is risk involved.
32  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: October 21, 2019, 11:52:42 AM
There's nothing incorrect about the wording used on the bustadice web site. Investing in the bankroll of bustadice is provably fair under the condition that you don't expect the operator and the auditor to collude. That is a factual statement.

Not quite. It's possible that the operator and the auditor both get hacked. Then the hacker could cheat the investors without the operator or auditor even knowing about it, let alone colluding.

Is it POS coin? How many coins should i have to receive good rewards?

Every 1200 or so coins you stake earn about 1 coin per day on average.

How many rewards will be from 1000 Clams?

About 0.8 CLAMs per day on average.

Give full information about POS coins regarding if hold 1000 clams in stake a day how much rewards i will get in POS coins.

You'll get about 0.8 CLAMs per day on average if you hold 1000 CLAMs and attempt to stake them.

Each block you stake earns 1 CLAM plus the fees from any transactions you include in the block. There's a lot of variance. For example you could stake 3 blocks one day then nothing for 3 days.
34  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: October 20, 2019, 09:51:48 PM
I've seen you make the claim that both sites are "provably fair" for investors IF you trust you "two".

I'll give you a bitcoin if you can remotely substantiate that. I've never said, or implied such a thing.

I was asked to give my opinion.

As I see it, Ryan's offer is that he will pay you if you can show that he has claimed both sites are provably fair for investors.

One of the two sites in question, Bustabit (the topic of this very thread), isn't provably fair for investors, and I've never seen anyone try to claim that it is.

To qualify for the payment you would need to show evidence of Ryan claiming that bustabit is provably fair for investors. Can you?
35  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Blockchain.com & HackerOne.com didn't pay bug bounty & made the fix anyways. on: October 18, 2019, 01:13:23 PM

Google absolutely does prompt for both account password and 2FA code before allowing you to do anything with your 2FA settings if 2FA is enabled.

If your account doesn't, it's likely because you have left "Don't ask again on this computer" checked. It is checked by default every time you provide a 2FA code.

Allowing any logged in account to access its 2FA backup codes without providing a 2FA code means that if anyone gains temporary access to your account they can disable 2FA at any point in the future. That's clearly "a credible attack".

Hello dooglus, is there any plan to add exchange to just-dice?

No, I have no plan to run an exchange.

what will be the way to get clam now? any plan to add the coin to any other exchange?

The developer of CLAM, xploited, is working on an exchange at the moment which will offer a BTC/CLAM pair.

I think he's planning to launch it in the coming days.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: October 09, 2019, 01:14:00 PM
iam playing since around 3 months on this website.
But found just today this threat be course i never looked on the alt coin section only on btc gambling section XD
Would like so see an auto roll function inside the website so users dont have to use 3party apps.

regards

coming soon

summer 2023

The game has a house edge. Auto-rolling is silly. If you don't enjoy playing, don't play!

1.4 million clam invested at just-dice

price goes from $3 to $20 back down to $9 then down to $4

last 2 weeks clam went from $4.50 now at $2.50

and all this time no clam in invest is withdrawn and sold for profit.

why is that. so many times  could have got nice profit and then buy back few days later with same amount of clam or more.

Trading is hard. You don't know in advance whether the price is going to go up or down.

You've been around BTC since the price was $100 per coin. Why didn't you buy a bunch when it was cheap and sell it when it was $20k each? Could have got nice profit...

Also, lots of CLAM was moved in and out of JD, traded, and redeposited by its new owners. It mostly ends up back there in different hands.
39  Economy / Reputation / Re: [solved] vipgame.io claims to be fair but can't prove it on: September 17, 2019, 01:01:05 AM
I am not very experienced in this field, but how does that take away your concerns if you don't know exactly in which block your bet was stored?

EOS produces a block each 0.5 second. If you are a winner they can easily include your bet in the next block (it will take 1 second and you will not notice it). It can be manipulated unless you know exactly the block number beforehand.

Am I missing something!

What you're missing is that they don't store your bet in a block, the miners do. It would be possible to manipulate the results if you had a lot of hash power and were willing to use it to 51% attack the network.
