21  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A service that sends you a text message when there is big Bitcoin news? on: August 30, 2014, 07:13:40 PM
Problem is you often don't know if news is really big until a week later. at least, a lot of headlines i think are big have no immediate effect on price, and sometimes the price makes a big move and it takes me a day or 2 to find out what the catalyst was. anyway, I think your best bet is to use IFTTT and use a RSS feed as input, and an sms as output. trick is to find the best RSS feed for your needs...

Anonymous and verifiable voting systems

A little bit of a contradiction here. How would you know what one identity, one person is, without an authority like a registration office?
or better put, how would you prevent a person from voting twice or multiple times? (let's call this the double-voting problem)
though it indeed is an interesting philosophical question what an identity is. if i'm a programmer at day and a rockstar at night, do i have two identities?

You are one identity with two hobbies.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: August 30, 2014, 07:00:33 PM
Armory with an m-of-n backup with dedicated separate cold wallet and hot wallet computers. Distribute the m-of-n backups geographically and among a couple different safe deposit boxes. In your will write clear instructions on how to recover the coins with the backups. This is the safest way to store coins imo.

What would you need a hot wallet computer for? Other than that, this is a great method.

You use the hot computer to create transactions on a watch-only wallet that you can bring back to the cold wallet to sign. You then bring that transaction back to the hot computer and broadcast it.

BCN shills puppet accounts at full force, thats why I never trust a pool on btctalk Grin
Then you should stay away from Bitcointalk.

What's wrong with you people? I'm not actually a BCN user but after reading you in the topic where BCN not even in a top 10 I'm getting tired. The only thing you can do in this sweet pool is flaming and i'm sick of it.

Bitcointalk is a nice place with a nice pools and if you say that you can't trust a Bitcointalk community it means that we can't trust you.

you are right, dont trust me because I dont trust you, and I certainly dont trust pools
And let me ask, what are you doing here if you do not trust people and pools which is maded of the people, by the people, for the people?

I dreamed I found a block solo mining.
It was very vivid. And it was an awesome dream. Incredible! Social justice was worked, the poor fed, countries were liberated, and there was a ton more left for me to splurge. Somehow btc was worth a whole lot more in my dream.

Then I woke up. And no, zero blocks found.

Sorry - that's the best I've got these days!

Hey man, your dreams are insane! But I hope that everyone in his own life will get a small chance to get in the same situation just like in your dream.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Easy Solution to the Denomination of Bit Coins on: July 19, 2014, 02:47:46 PM
Instead of using denominations like mBTC, μBTC etc simply change the name of 1 bit coin to be 1 satoshi and let 1 satoshi be 1 bit coin. In other words if you currently own 10 bit coins they will become 10 satoshis worth 10,0000,0000 bit coins. I think this is the easiest solution.
Your idea is clear to me but it's not a solution actually. And you know why? Because denomination works in other way, and giving bitcoin another name will bring us to the same point in a few month.

Today I saw that my offline wallet is empty.  Cry
Someone has transferred all my 10 BTC.  Cry

Sorry for your lost. I think it's happened because of malicious software (like trojans).
