21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Terminology on: May 24, 2014, 08:30:54 PM
I think that might be on the same track (in the ballpark); here is the reference link:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=621411.msg6882556#msg6882556

Yeah, I think DathAndTaxes was using the financial term. I don't think 'float' is used here as anything specifically relating to premining.

on a different note:
I noticed your sig how would you like to partner on some cryptocurrency projects?

I'm already partnering on a project, and looking for other partners (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=539956.0). Feel free to PM me if you think we can co-operate.

Question:

Regarding a premine, what is the full definition of the word "float"?

Thanks

Hi Armis,

I'm not sure, maybe someone else will enlighten us. Can you point me to where you saw 'float' used in relation to 'premine'?

BTW the financial definition of 'float' is;

Quote
The float refers to profits earned by a financial institution on assets that do not belong to that institution, but are held in custody for a client or other purpose.

But, I don't think this is what your referring too.

The greatest achievement of the bitcoin foundation is managing to convince other people that they are relevant.

This is sad but it's the truth, while in paper the a bitcoin fondation is a great idea and it is of most importance to defend bitcoin interest, and why not even lobby in governments and to create connection with tech giants and spread the bitcoin to the world, right now it just giving negativity to bitcoin and a money hog

It's like watching someone trying to catch a fart in a fishing-net.

You don't wanna pay a developer? Code it yourself!

We are coding it ourselves, it's already about 3/4 complete.

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: I am addicted to BTC price checking. Please VOTE on: May 05, 2014, 12:26:51 AM
Before I lost my coins on gox I used to check 2 - 8 times a day hoping the price had gone up. Now I check about once a day hoping the price has come down, so I can buy some more.

So, does the latest announcement regarding police involvement have any bearing on the likelihood that they have found these coins?

I created a poll to asses sentiment regarding its effect on the market;

39  Economy / Speculation / Poll: Market effect of a MtGox payout. on: March 25, 2014, 10:34:34 PM
Currently, rumours are abound that MtGox has found the missing bitcoins and that depositors will get back their assets. There is some argument as to the effect this will have on the market, so here's a poll to assess the current sentiment.
40  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox to Announce they found 670,000 btc? on: March 25, 2014, 08:46:12 PM
I'm thinking the opposite.  If you were a victim of the Goxxing, would you hang on to your returned coins?  I'd think most people would dump them for fiat as quickly as possible.

im victim and i will not sell my refunded goxcoins(if)

I too am a victim, and I will also bee hodling my coins.

Me too, any coins returned to me will be safely stored well away from any exchange.
