21  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BitDayTrade A fixed interest bond of 3% per week! on: June 22, 2012, 05:18:21 PM
Please include a link to your GLBSE page in OP.
22  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL refused to issue refund because it was paid with bitcoin (via Bitpay) on: June 21, 2012, 09:33:20 PM
Just to clarify, the refund policy applies to all payment methods.  Our CS clerk is only familiar with how to do this with PayPal as it's a simple click.  BTC, Bank wire & Dwolla require calculating the cost of transaction and subtracting that amount from the sum sent.  Our CSR has *NOT* refused anyone a refund, she only said she'd have to ask how to do it.

So, once again...  if you are looking for a refund, you can get one no matter the method of payment.

Glad to hear that she was misinformed. However, she never said she was looking into it. This is the only communication my brother received:

Code:
"I have refunded your PayPal order for 5 singles. The Bit-Pay order, however, is not refundable. --Jody"

I understand the confusion, she didn't explain herself well.  No worries, we'll get you taken care of.

"She didn't explain herself well" is false.  Jody lied to your customers. Either that or BFL is doing business in violation of a number of laws concerning failure to deliver a product within the time frame advertised (in most states, you MUST offer a refund if delayed past advertised delivery time, and BFL, not customers, would also be liable for fees in this case).

Which is it?

23  Economy / Securities / Re: Red Star Mining - FPGA company - 1.30435MH/s@0.06739W per share to be paid on: June 20, 2012, 08:57:19 PM
What is the ticker?  Please put a link to your security's GLBSE page at the top of OP.
24  Other / Meta / Proposed: All "Securities" topics should link to security on GLBSE on: June 20, 2012, 08:55:30 PM
I find it annoying how every post has the link to the discussed security on GLBSE in a different spot.  Some don't even include it at all.

I propose that mods enforce a link to the security at the top of every post.  If OP doesn't do it themselves, edit the post to add the link at the top.  If it is listed somewhere, else, link there.

This would make me happy.

25  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE:RUGATU] - Market cap ~ 1.29 BTC, Can it recover? on: June 20, 2012, 08:43:00 PM
What I get from their remark is, they are actually doing it to stop people from posting opposing views in their threads.

[...]

I'm humbly suggesting they find a different PR guy who knows what he's doing.

We "may" offer a portion of him to the Bitcoin world if we feel there is enough interest.

Interested.
27  Other / Meta / Re: Disallow locking of threads on: June 16, 2012, 12:25:13 AM
I support this.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price just broke through weekly Bollinger Band on: June 16, 2012, 12:19:55 AM

What that means is:

IF volume rises with price over the next weeks
and
AS LONG AS price stays above or close to the upper Bollinger Band,

we can expect a major rally to 10$, 15$, maybe more!

Stay tuned and watch the news (because major horror news can always bring prices down!)

Sincerely,
( Y )

Ah, missed that, thank you.  Updated OP to strike that.  Please keep your quote for continuity, though.
30  Economy / Securities / [GLBSE:RUGATU] - Market cap ~ 1.29 BTC, Can it recover? on: June 15, 2012, 11:49:20 PM
It looks like Rugatu is having some serious troubles:

- Earlier this week in the thread below, majority of forum users agreed the valuation was too high.  Rugatu owners/employees disagreed.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=87390.0

- There have been allegations of unfair moderation and moderators manipulating rules to win a question's reward, then banning the user who they allegedly stole from for publicly discussing it
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86551.msg965892#msg965892

- The sum of all bids on GLBSE is about 1.29BTC at time of writing.  This means selling EVERY SHARE wouldn't even net two bitcoins.  Ouch.

Now the Rugatu Mods have locked every thread they created, so I wanted a place to discuss their situation without censorship.

Can Rugatu recover from this?
31  Economy / Securities / Re: [glbse] Rugatu Q&A on: June 13, 2012, 08:37:59 PM
Hey Alex,

Thanks for responding to my questions.  I love the service, and think I will use it a good deal.

The only part I'm a little hung up on is the valuation:

10,000 is 10%, so 100,000 total shares.

Share price is IPO'd at ~0.24 BTC (around $1.39 per share).

This puts your valuation of your company at roughly $139,000 USD. Could you expand on how you arrived at this valuation?
32  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Report Against CryptoXchange $100k USD on: June 12, 2012, 12:36:40 AM
The problem with that is that we all know Ken is honest and that CryptoXChange has a flawless reputation.

I wouldn't say they have a flawless reputation.  We don't all know that.

I've heard rumors that they had major litecoin solvency issues which they swept quietly under the rug, and that is why you can't trade litecoin anymore.

Another rumor I heard was that their registrations and compliance are overstated and that they don't have any financial service business registrations and they are effectively registered as a software company.

I don't know if either of those are true, could have just been trolls.  Heard from anonymous internet strangers, so take that as you will.

Doesn't matter to me though, I've never liked their business style (excessive ads, "24-hour support" that isn't always available, gold coin pricing errors, etc.) . This thread just seals the deal.

I think this may be the end of CXC
33  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN]Rugatu Q&A launched in beta - using real bitcoins now ! on: June 11, 2012, 09:28:57 PM
I'm interested in investing in your company, but am a bit hesitant about the lack of information.  Here are some questions I have:

- Who are you?  How many people are on your team?  What are their qualifications?
- Do the 10,000 shares constitute 100% of the company?  How many shares does the team plan on retaining?
- What are your plans to grow and/or advertise Rugatu?
- What is your development roadmap?  If you make $1000 profit tomorrow, how will you spend it, or will you pay out dividends with it?  What about $5000?
- Which of the asks on GLBSE are the IPO (yours)?  the two 100s, the 887, and the 50?

Thanks for your time.  It's great to see a truly innovative service on GLBSE like this.

Also, you may want to create a topic in the Securities section which contains the answers to these sort of questions -- I am sure other's will be interested in your answers.

Cheers!

I'm a mod, and your reason for asking would be...

Which board?

Just surprised that they would pick someone with such a "controversial" reputation to moderate  Undecided

EDIT: Oh, its just the Spanish board, nevermind lol.
36  Other / Off-topic / Re: TizzyTazzy's saga continues... on: June 08, 2012, 08:21:10 PM
Title of original thread you are complaining about.

Quote
3 free BTC to someone who comes up with a slogan I like

Now he chose to ignore us completely saying that he didn't like anything proposed.

You are unjustly harassing people again.  Nobody satisfied the bounty, in your own words.  Come on...

PS: What kind of "Staff" are you?
37  Other / Off-topic / Re: TizzyTazzy's saga continues... on: June 08, 2012, 05:32:49 PM
My take on this situation is that paraipan is butthurt that tizzy didn't like his lame suggestions, and is now harrassing Tizzy in every thread he makes.  This is unacceptable.  Paraipan is trolling and harrassing.

PS: Why the hell does it say "Staff" under paraipan?  Is he a mod?  Who's stupid idea was that? paraipan is way too overemotional to moderate.

Reminds me of when he filed a police report against Bitcoinica for not responding to his email for a week  Roll Eyes
38  Economy / Goods / Re: [Bounty] Update: 100BTC for 2 Working Crow Vending Machines on: May 15, 2012, 06:31:30 PM
Interesting, you guys really are serious.  I'm interested in building this, but I'm don't have the time/not interested in trying to train the black bastards to actually use it.   If you guys just want a working unit as far as the mechanics and electronics go I could start piecing it together and let you know if it's feasible (cost wise).

Because there are some intricacies, like whether the sound of the machine scares the birds, whether the coin slot can avoid clogs from being outside for a period, etc., I'd like a tested machine.  If you build one for Inaba and he can train them, I'll send him the 20BTC for the video, and buy another from you for 40 (assuming Josh Klein doesn't get back to me first).

If I end up buying directly from him, I'll still honor half my video bounty, of 10BTC for anyone else who can demonstrate a working crow vending machine with a bitcointalk sign in the video.

One day, I hope to see a world where man and crow engage in mutually beneficial commerce in hundreds of cities around the world. :-)
39  Economy / Goods / Re: [Bounty] Update: 100BTC for 2 Working Crow Vending Machines on: May 15, 2012, 06:26:52 PM
I guess my point is if a bunch of squirrels eat all the nuts before you get a crow, experiment over. Either that or constant babysitting.

Squirrels will only be a problem for the first few stages (where you leave food by the machine to get them to come over to it), but Josh found that the squirrels weren't able to learn to deposit coins.  So presumably, once you get the first few crows trained, squirrels will no longer be a problem.
40  Economy / Goods / Re: [Bounty] Update: 100BTC for 2 Working Crow Vending Machines on: May 15, 2012, 06:25:18 PM
I notice that Josh says a kit might be available soon: http://www.josh.is/crow-machine/#comment-1544

Awesome!  Just emailed him about the kit.  I'll keep this thread posted.
