Not expecting huge uptake at first, but i'm certainly going to want to trade the coins I bought that are just sitting on my wallet right now. I've also got a couple friends together who are interested in trying to earn some coin so it'll be beneficial to get on an exchange to let more people buy them.

Thanks, got my coins but they don't seem to be staking ? What block does staking start?

Should get a slack up running or something. Also bonus for referring friends!

Some interesting integrations into modern day car infotainment systems would be something to look into. I'm not sure how 'open' these systems are, but we definitely need an android operating system on modern cars.

I imagine it'll be some form of proof of existence with some gps metadata. Good use case imo
So there's no early bonus incentive?

Crowdfund AnnouncementRide My Car was conceptualised at the end of 2015, our goal was to take on the task of building a car pooling ride share platform and see how far we can take this idea forward integrating crypto technology. Undoubtedly, much of the discussion thus far has focused on comparing existing services and analysing their business models. One of the outcomes from discussion was that it would be difficult to have a good penetration of a niche market with strong existing incumbent competitors, furthermore, the capital required to incentivise a wider user base would be enormous. Before embarking on any sort of crowd funding, we felt it was important that we should at-least produce a beta working platform to serve as the minimum viable product going forward. In doing so, we begin an iterative process of building on our product whilst giving early adopters the opportunity to use a functional platform. We've decided to go the route of an uncapped crowd fund to allow price discovery to happen from the get go. What this means, is participants will be distributed coins based on their percentage contribution to the total amount raised during the crowd sale. To make this process easier, we've developed our bespoke crowd sale page where you'll be able to participate. To participate, register an account at www.ridemycar.meYou will be able to see the estimated number of coins you will receive, although this will no doubt be subject to change as more people participate. Once the crowd sale is over, your coins will be available for withdraw directly from the crowd sale site. Desktop wallet links are of course included. The crowdsale itself will go live from Monday the 3rd of October, and finish at the end of the Week on midnight Friday 8th. Once again, thank you all for the continued support and discussion contribution. To read our Crowd sale terms and conditions, please visit www.ridemycar.org/terms cheers mate will be on the look out

I am getting stoked on this project!

I guess the id verification is the absolute minimum amount of information required, and even then it's not going to affect users from the beginning.

If crypto is to reach mainstream adoption, regulation is a necessity. This means basically complying to KYC and AML checks. The good thing is, if you have nothing to hide, then the whole experience shouldn't really differ and on top of that, in the event of some heinous situations, your ass is saved.
I'd rather use my cash and wave down a taxi in the street.. No government is gonna get all that info from me. The government probably already has all of your info anyway, I don't know why it bothers you so much to provide a little bit of info in your own best interests.

Erm, seriously would you feel comfortable sitting in somebody's car who you don't know the name of? Sure you have his reg, but even then how would you know it's not some crook who stole the car and is about to kidnap you?
That's where all the fun is though.. Err no thanks, I'd rather have them do some id checks n what not before I use it. I know crypto is all about being free and anonymous but that doesn't work here. Would you trust your wife to use this knowing absolutely anybody could be behind the wheel? Usually, Uber does a background check on all of it's drivers, I think something similar will be done here although maybe initially it won't.

I'm not so interested in another Uber honestly. But for the sake of discussion, I would say that another model might work in regular bookings of trips.
Think about it, when someone needs to make the same journey regularly, they would normally take public transport, or drive their own car. Now you can find someone who takes the same journey and book them regularly.
Yeah OP seens to be taking another route with some sustainable ideas. Hopefully will be able to build rapport with other commuters. Maybe a social platform or forum would be cool?? social platform and community participation will be the key to this project. Trusted rating system to ensure safe travel I think feedback is key here. Perhaps some sort of mechanism to track feedback is needed? It would be pretty cool to be able to do this via a wallet! Here, having attestation on the chain would be very useful. Making things like rating / identity immutable on the chain will help a great deal.

I think starting with cities is a sound idea.
Larger cities will be a good start. Preferably ones that don't have BitLicense..
|
|
|
For the unbanked and underbanked, definitely yes!
This is one area that Bill Gates has mentioned Crypto can actually benefit.
|
|
|
I actually prefer to accept Bitcoin as my salary, since most of my existing salary goes into hoarding bitcoin anyway.

Is upgrading to 14.9 a good idea?
I hear no. 14.7 is best Better, than 14.4? on linux I had the best results with 14.6 beta What about Win7? I'm wondering if there's any difference in performance between 14.4 and 14.7.

If using Windows, get a second 4gb stick...4gb is enough for linux, barely cuts it for win.
Not kidding, it won't work...I run both win and linux mining rigs. (curecoin needs win for now :/)
Just 2 gigs of ram on both of my rigs (win7x32) and vertminer runs excellently. No errors, no stales. So this is just a bs about needing more ram. 2gb is BS...what was your hash rate wise guy? (and what gpus) Why it's a bs if its working here flawlessly? 2x6780 and 2x5770. Was 1000 kh/s with scrypt, now 480 kh/s. Seems legit. Using 1.5.3 of vertminer, and yeah 1.5.2 gives only hw errors.
