22  Economy / Lending / [Fulfilled] Looking for a 2BTC loan on: March 31, 2012, 10:53:01 AM
Hello
I'm looking for a 2 Bitcoins loan. This is less than I asked for before because people thought I wanted to scam (even though I have no interest in doing so) despite the fact that I had to tell them that I'm new and want to build up rep. This is only 2 Bitcoins here so if anyone can give me a chance' I'll be very happy.

Terms:
1.I'll repay this within the week (typically 5 days or less after the loan)
2.I'd like either interest free or as little interest as possible
3.I plan to pay this back by selling goods and services (on other forums outside this as well as it'll be much easier to repay then)

I want some successful loans to show that I'm reputable and can add to the reputation system.

If you're not interested in lending to me or making constructive feedback about my loan request then please don't reply here. Thanks

I wish I won that much.I join all sorts of lotteries in the hope of winning.I'm waiting for one of the lotteries I joined a while back to finish the round (as it was extended) so I can see whether or not I've won.

25  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Thunderbolt to PCIe? on: March 31, 2012, 10:09:01 AM
I could just grab a MBA (Macbook air) with its thunderbolt port and mine on a gpu externally as that has TB and is cheaper than mbp.
26  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: IT Administrator Mining on: March 31, 2012, 09:29:03 AM
Wow. People mine on work computers? I know a few people who do but because it's not illegal or wrong in the country I live in,it's all good (employers don't care about how you use computer resources, they care more about peoplestealing supplies from work like other computers and other items than they do about 'miners').

27  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Hot tub miners on: March 31, 2012, 09:18:28 AM
Hmm. A miner that can give me hot water (for the home as well as an outside pool) as well as Bitcoins (money)? That would be a very good solution. If only the instructions were like really easy for a guy like me who doesn't know much about computers ( I can setup GUIMiner but that's about it plus I still need to build an actual mining rig with those high performing cards HD7970s which would then be fitted with something that can pump water straight into the water heater which then goes to an outside pool.)

34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I wanna get to grips with selling on here on: March 26, 2012, 12:21:09 AM
Gage I write shorthand as I grew up with using text speak and am not used to using full words all the time.On other forums I've been on,no one took notice. There's clearly a lot of differences on this forum that I'm not used to. My post counts are low as I'm a person who recently joined these forums-just give it some time. As for writing style,I'll try to write better as it helps people understand me better (as I'm not very good with non-text speak).

All feedback so far has been very helpful to me so thanks for that everyone who replied to me Smiley

I'll edit some of my posts to help people understand me better as people can't help me if they can't understand me.Have a nice night.
35  Economy / Lending / Re: Would like a 5BTC loan on: March 25, 2012, 05:43:07 PM
You aren't giving us much to work with, other than your word that you'll pay back; and we all know that you can trust strangers in the lending section with your money from experience.

I can appreciate that a possible borrower with nothing to show other than his word can make lenders feel uneasy but still I made it small so that it's easy to pay it back np. However since this loan request has gone unfulfilled due to teh heavy reluctance on the part of teh lenders,I'll be locking this thread soon.
36  Economy / Lending / Re: Would like a 5BTC loan on: March 25, 2012, 05:35:12 PM
They may not understand the reference about the shoe, and my preference is for a pineapple.

Basically, a good idea to gain some credibility, and others have done that too.  This section of the forum is littered with examples of people asking for small starter loans and then disappearing with a decent block of change, so expect a hard time just for now.

(Hmm, starfish thinks about writing a guide "scamming bitcoin for dummies")

Thanks for the helpful reply, Patrick. I think I'll withdraw my request for now b4 ppl decide 2 troll me (or worse). I think I should give myself some time to settle in before asking for loans. If some1 still wants to lend, that's ok.If no1 lends, then I'll lock this thread n move on (as no1 wants to help the new guy with a small loan it seems).
37  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I wanna get to grips with selling on here on: March 25, 2012, 05:28:16 PM
Frankly, the pre made Dropbox accounts are useless IMHO. People are selling fully loaded Dropbox accounts for about the same price as yours, with around 10 fb available. Anyone could create a anonymous Dropbox account for free.

Guess it's time to lower the price then.Maybe around 0.4btc instead per account
Or try offering a similar service with fully loaded DB accounts but with a discount as compared to them. I'm sure you'll do better then.

I don't know what u mean by fully loaded accounts? Also what price r ppl willing 2 pay for my current service? ny help would help me a lot.
38  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Any ideas for a portable mining rig on: March 25, 2012, 03:34:57 PM

So it looks like you are planning to build a portable desktop to bring to work so you can steal electricity from your employer Huh

Good luck with that and hope you get the door.

Stealing electricity = shame on you !

The portable desktop idea was actually meant to be an interesting challenge where the main mining environment would be in hte home. in response to your other point, well let me put it to you this way, why judge people when they simply want to achieve something different. Also countless people have 'leeched' energy from an employer and many remain not caught to this day. Also don't be so judgemental to others when they simply want to prove that a different way of mining rig building may be possible. Anyway what hardware is recommended for the build?

Also have you ever stole electricity from your workplace? If so u hav n right to judge, now do u?

39  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Any ideas for a portable mining rig on: March 25, 2012, 03:17:41 PM
Hi,
I'm new here but I wish to make a start into the mining business to get things going.

First thing I have to think about is what sort of rig I wanna make:
I have a plan that goes something like this:
1.The computer can be one of those portable desktops (SFF type cases) or a cheap netbook with an fpga.
2.I plan to make it a small desktop (Shuttle Pc like size,SFF type cases)
3.I want to know how to cram as much power into that small factor.I need the portability, discrete and compact attributes. I don't want a large rig taking up too much space on my desk at home or at work. (when the office closes at the end of hte day,I wanna b abl to take it home with me so the boss can't bust me for mining)
4.I'd like everything else to be cheap (like mobo, cpu, ram,SSD as HDDs take up more space)
5.I'd like the OS to be either win 7 or another OS that performs better with mining GPUs or FPGAs
6.I want an easy solution to setup as I'm not too gd with computers if FPGAs are recommended 4 me in this case.

SO guys what cases and hardware can fit the bill? I'll need links for EU (prices should b in euros) type sites as I live in EU (not US so don't give me USD prices as that's no gd 4 me)
I'm open to the possibility that FPGAs can complement the single dual GPU that can typically fit into a SFF case, plus the remaining space can b used by something else (not sure what though)

I have access to free elec (so a hi-performance monster GPU can be added without worry of hte utility bill for strting off)

Thanks.I'm new to the mining rig side of things.
