21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free Betting Competition $2000 in Prizes Sponsor: Betking.io (Discussion Thread) on: August 22, 2018, 10:40:14 PM
Thanks for this competition. I really like these challenges, and this format. I'm glad I can participate in a competition like this again.
Since I can choose, I would like to receive my prize as the Bonus Betting Balance thing.

So I need to wager a total of $30 @1.3 or above before I can withdraw funds right?
I just have a question, since bets with bonus money don't count for the competition, how can I choose if I'm using prize money, or my own funds? I don't mind creating a new account just to receive prizes if that helps.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it's the first time I betting on betking, so I don't know how their interface works.

24  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Portfolio management. Rebalancing. on: July 22, 2018, 12:55:10 PM
Thanks for this post. It actually has some interesting thoughts. I don't hold to many coins right now, so I can't really do this, but you are are saying makes sense to me, and if I ever get more serious about trading, and start investing in multiple coins, I will try to put this in practice.
25  Other / Meta / Re: Why the trust is not shown in all sections. on: July 22, 2018, 12:51:05 PM
Why would you want it to be displayed everywhere? Its related to trade, and only makes sense to have it in sections concerning trading. Having it as a toggle option could be implemented, but I think keeping it the way it is as the default option is the best idea.

This topic actually got me wondering, should we really only limit "trust" for trade-related purposes?

Doesn't it follow that if you are a known scammer by virtue of your market trades, then that your words (posts) are also questionable? I assume that scammers are understandably biased to say things that would be in their favor (or for their profit) and therefor also cannot be trusted.

I kind of agree with this. I know trust is only related to trades in the forum, but I think it's almost impossible to actually trust the posts of a user that has neg trust. If he deceives other users when it comes to trades, it would be reasonable to accept that he will do the same on many other areas, because he is probably someone that will try to mislead others for his own personal agenda (whatever that is).

Hello !
This is a topic about current ICO and Bounty  Smiley (updated every month) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4637382.0

Thanks for sharing. I'm actually starting to look into ICOs lately, and I think your thread could actually be of great use if you put some information about why you choose those ICOs you list there, and add a small review on them or something like that.

How do you do your research for example?
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets fight the FUD together on: July 22, 2018, 12:42:56 PM
Have anyone found new on bitcoin ETFs? I keep reading rumors that they should happen during this year, but the same wait I try to fight FUD, I don't want to be mislead by rumors, even though they would probably mean good thing to bitcoin.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FREE Tipster Competition is Back - Sponsored by BetKing.io! (Discussion Thread) on: July 22, 2018, 12:39:53 PM
Good to hear this competition is coming back. Everything looks great so far from what I've read. Any info on the prizes? If things are not that far from what the other competition was, I will probably join again!
29  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-05] Bitcoin’s Next Big Battle: Restoring its Reputation on: July 07, 2018, 11:37:28 AM
I wouldn't say restore it's reputation. I think it's more like continue to build it. Until bitcoin goals and use cases are well accepted and regulation becomes clear, I think that big investors will surely start buying it for the future. The problem is that right now taxes are not charged the same way on every country, sometimes BTC is seen as legal tender, so it's like a currency, in other BTC is just seen as property, etc. Until these things are clear, it will be hard for them to make a serious investment in my opinion.

We can help here in my opinion though. If more merchants start accepting BTC, and we as users stat using it that way, we will help build BTC reputation the proper way. Right now, there just to much speculation and no real use.

Just noticed now that this thread has been moved to off-topic. I will continue to manage it, but I guess it will be harder for users to actually find it here, and use it. I thought the right place for it would be on services.

Anyway, like I said before I will continue to manage, so feel free to leave links to your posts here.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets fight the FUD together on: July 06, 2018, 08:55:27 PM
The FUD in community must be prevent to protect the value of bitcoin itself. If many FUD spread around the community,
im afraid that some peoples will immediately believe and sell their coins with cheap price. This could causing bitcoin and crpyto price
dropping in the market.

I think I've come to realize that maybe people are not really reacting to he news itself, but instead there could be some market manipulation going on, trying to take advantage of bad news in order to try to "justify" the sell outs. People that bought BTC at high prices, could be getting into a lot of selling pressure right now, and every time a sell out occurs (timed with bad news), makes them panic sell.

I still believe that since bitcoin fundamentals remain intact and it's development continues, there should be no reason to panic. We really need informed investors. I'm sure those will not sell their coins.

Just wanted to say that I have some more merit to give now, so this thread remains active.
Feel free to leave your posts for review. Thank you.

Sorry for the long absence but had a lot of things to solve. I have more time now so I will try to carry on with what I was doing.

Finished review the posts, and gave merit to some. By mistake I gave merit in this thread for two posts, sorry about that. I would also like to give merit to more posts made by bitmover, but I'm really low on merit now, so I need to save some.

There were some posts I liked but couldn't give merit, so I just left them in the thread instead of deleting them.

Sorry for the late absence. Got some holidays without internet connection, which was great, and then got a bunch of problems to solve, which was not so great, but everything is fine now. I will check the posts and links posted, and then I will resume the fight!
36  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-29] Russian Hotels to Surprise World Cup Fans with Bitcoin Payments on: March 30, 2018, 11:26:46 AM
Those are good news, and I keep seeing adoption related news all over the world, which proves that crypto interest is still pretty much alive, and that is a great thing. It would be amazing is these payments could be done using the lightning network, but that is highly unlikely. Germany National Tourism Center also added an option for payments with cryptocurrency. I guess we are seeing an increased offer in the tourism business.

They are accepting Bitcoin payment via a third party (services like bitpay) and just in kaliningrad.
Btw integrating the video assistant referee (for the first time) is the best news imo in order to limit corruption and referee interference with the final score.

I know this is a bit off topic but I need to say that I'm still quite skeptic about this new system. I've read some news from countries where the system is being tested as well, but it's not working well because it's not like tennis, when an image is made public and leaves no question for doubts. Usually referees decide using that system, without showing the image to anyone, and it still depends on the decision of the referee that sometimes make strange decisions. Hopefully they will be more strict in the World Cup, and no margin for doubt will exist.

Hello guys, finished reviewing these posts. I gave merit to some, and I probably give more if I could but as a Sr. Member I don't have that much merit to spent so I need to be picky right now. Really enjoyed reading the posts by vlad230. I was never very interested in mining, because I always think it's not profitable, but I wasn't really thinking about the possibility for coins to value in time, so I guess I will start looking into this. Thanks for sharing.

I actually think that projects that focus on creating digital IDs using the blockchain are quire promising. Right now, that seems to be one of the main interests from Microsoft on the blockchain for example, and it definitely has potential. This would give users a secure method of authentication, without neglecting the privacy of their data, since everything would be decentralized.

Not sure how these projects will compete with Microsoft once it enters the space, but it should be interesting to watch.

I would actually like to hear your opinion on Kin, that is the ERC20 token that enables Kik decentralized ecosystem of digital services. They seem to have now partnered with Unity Technologies, in order to enter the gaming industry as well. So they are really aiming for all kinds of social networks, and not just chat apps.

I really like the Enjin Token that is focused on the gaming industry, but I'm starting to think that Kin might have more potential, but I'm still not sure about it.

Unfortunately I haven't found many news to report in these last days. My main attention remains on lightning network development, and although I think it's safe to say that the LN has left it's "alpha phase" and is now on "beta phase", it will still take a while for the average users to be able to run a node, or use it for common payments.

I found an interesting article regarding the LN, so I decided to share it here.
https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoins-lightning-network-is-live-but-can-it-keep-from-going-corporate/

Along with the lines of the article I found this interesting statement:

Quote
Lightning developer Jack Mallers, who created the free Zap Lightning wallet on top of Lightning Labs' lnd software, will soon release consumer applications for both mobile and desktop. Those interfaces will make it even easier for average people to use Lightning without relying on corporate channels.

This is not the main "theme", and I advise you to read everything, but I found this statement quite positive, because as an average user, I would really like to start "playing" with the LN.

If you guys find anything new, please share it here.
