21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 23, 2014, 01:21:01 PM
I have a rare problem. Sometimes SP30/31 occasionally stops working after many days of good work, and I cannot reboot it remotely.
The symptoms:
- it doesn't mine;
- I cannot open its WWW page (it asked for name and password, but then no communication at all);
- PING answers correctly;
- SSH every time shows "Login as:" prompt, but after entering user name, there is no any answer;
- the green LED at the front is blinking.

It looks like there was no free memory (but then I checked in the log there was free memory (348)) or no new process can be spawned.
The power off and on by hand is needed, which is a bit troublesome.

It happened two times before to one of my SP30 (which was then replaced because of misbehaving DC2DC circuits).
Yesterday it happened to SP31. (Two other SP30 machines work well there.)

The support is very helpful (Zvisha as always and two new people as well), but this time they found no reason, despite connecting remotely (after the reboot of course) and analyzing logs and settings. The problem isn't known and I don't want to waste their time more with it (until it begin to happen more often).

The stopping would not be as bad if I could restart it remotely. But, I suppose, the inability of communication is what cause the machine to stop mining.
It would be nice to have a watchdog working inside, which would restart the machine when such condition occurs (e.g. too many processes, low memory, connection problems...). To prepare it I need to know the exact cause.

So my questions are: What could make sshd to stop between asking for login name and asking for a password? Does it need to spawn new process? Or is it another reason like something wrong with TCP/IP? Do anyone had similar problem?

Can anyone provide me with a Titan SD card image? Preferably with 1.01 firmware.
(Made after a factory settings reset or at least with known password used, or else it'll be of no use.)
It looks like my device needs card reflashing, but there is no card image at KnCMiner pages.
An image can be created with e.g. Win32DiskImager.

Pentax, add your comment AFTER the quote, rather than inside it. Thanks.

Anyone else getting emails of "invoice Payment Confirmation" from info@cloudhashing.com ?
I ask because I got 2 of those today, with an attachment called invoice_773.jar
If you get such an email, obviously, don't open the attachment.

People reported receiving such e-mails "from" bitmine.ch and Bitmine itself warned against these e-mails too.
(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291141.msg8353546#msg8353546)

It's an attack directed at customers of some Bitcoin companies. The jar attachment is malicious.

Edit: There are similar e-mails disguised as originated from Cointerra, directed to Cointerra customers.
It looks like these companies databases were hacked, because how the sender knows who is which customer?
25  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's 15 Sold [Closed] Jupiter Pool on: August 10, 2014, 04:59:53 PM
I confirm receiving both payments: the final mining payout and hosting refund. Better late than never.
Because of it I've removed negative feedback for soniq.

(The refund was directed to old address from which the hosting was paid rather then the one provided for the refund, yet it is my address, so the change caused no problems.)

(8.09575 BTC spent - 5292GH/s in hand & running NOW)
How much kW? What height of 19'' rack space would it take? (Answer with U number or centimeters or inches.)
27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 22, 2014, 06:11:25 PM
- The Value of the Unit was quoted in the packing slip as $100 which is a lie to I presume get around people paying high import duty etc. If the value/cost of the unit is only $100 can I have a refund? Can you please ship your units correctly. As it says on the Slip they are Legal Documents you are lying on. It is not just me as other people have said the $100 is the cost/value of the Items.

The value written is correct. For next $100 of what you paid you will/should get another one X-1 as a recompensation (when they make the final decision). The rest of money went for shipping.

Someguy4214, in what country (or continent) do you live? How far from China?
Had you got a delivery tracking notice in advance?

Datatank offering: $0.93/gh 0.6w/gh $0.025/kwh (starts hashing in a few weeks)

Jimmothy, from the Datatank prospectus, page 10:
Quote
Profits will be paid weekly in form of dividends. First payments are expected when the initial hardware
is deployed, 3-6 months after successful fund raising.

So not in a few weeks. (IPO starts on 24th June, it will take some time, then add 3-6 months.)

Some people had questions on the PSU, here are some pictures of the CE mark as well as how it goes in

Thomas, this is "China Export" mark, not "Conformité Européenne" which is needed in EU.
It should look like:

The distance between the letters is important. Look here:

However the supplier of PSU can self-certificate them yet.
All is explained here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking

31  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is Novello Technologies a scam? on: June 05, 2014, 10:28:49 PM
At Indiegogo, Novello has chosen to use "Flexible Funding" which means they will receive all funds raised even if the campaign does not reach its goal.

Heh ja nie rozumiem dlaczego wzbraniacie się przed zwiększeniem hashpower, przecież to wpłynie na kurs, a ten z kolei przyciągnie nowe depozyty...
The translation: "Huh, I don't understand why you are reluctant to increase the hashpower, after all, it will will affect the exchange rate, and this in turn will attract new deposits..."

Increasing the hashpower costs money. Who would pay for it?
33  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitmineRefund.com refund listing for Bitmine orders on: May 25, 2014, 12:44:54 PM
Bitminerefund lists payment types only. All these four refunds were made by wire transfers.
34  Economy / Securities / Re: [PicoStocks] 100TH/s bitcoin mine [100th] on: May 24, 2014, 06:58:26 PM
Interesting. Looks like Picostocks user gE6V is a bot designed to drive the price high by steady buying (bidding) 2 or 3 shares for current price: https://picostocks.com/users/transactions/921
Another user, QZAa, only buys, never sells. He buys small amounts (near) exclusively from user HBn8. It's a bit strange. https://picostocks.com/users/transactions/2503

Two of them weren't announced for sure.
As I see, all four had refund due date on 30th April or 1st May, so they were the earliest registered there. It looks like the refunding begins.
36  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's 15 Sold [Closed] Jupiter Pool on: May 19, 2014, 10:53:20 PM
From Soniq's e-mail from 13th May:
Quote
Hosting contract is nearly complete and have a buyer who is offering 2 BTC per Jupiter. Which I think is a fair price as Jupiters are selling on Ebay for $1400. So deduct a PSU, shipping and duties and it is close to same price.

Apparently the contract is finished.

Really? Any pictures?

2x dual minion boards in an X3 case
It's technically impossible with current PCB and heatsink.

Expansion of what? Warehouse =/= mine
Quote
The warehouse started around August and expanded in November, with another expansion happening currently.

Yet setting 'Failover' mode is still impossible.
