Videos with the team should be good though, however ID not required for your own privacy and security.

Of course id is required. The can put their finger over the important parts to block them out but we need to know that the people we are dealing with are in deed who they say they are. Don't you agree?
thanks for posting here, bittrojan. you can call or write the authorities of the place where we are registered (Liechtenstein) in order to find out whether aeternity is real or not. would be great if you can share the result here inside this thread. I will not give you my id. but I got IDed. there are so many scams here, so I totally understand that people are skeptical. I am a well known community member. have visited dozens of blockchain conferences to meet the real people behind the projects and not to spend my live in forums Wink more authentic stuff is also incoming to be published soon.

btw, isn't it funny that people ask for ids of the creators of a decentralized system? I, for myself, believe in borderless societies and that technology should be used to empower the individual.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON 2nd gen cryptonote, anon, mobile-friendly, scalable, pruning on: January 14, 2017, 11:51:40 PM
Aeternity still plans to base itself around our AE concept, potentially also using AEON as the ticker.

http://www.banklesstimes.com/2017/01/09/malahovs-aeternity-blockchain-venture-puts-down-roots-in-liechtenstein/

How do we deal with this?

1. Ignore
2. Resist/Destroy
3. Other

their favored ticker is AET atm

Correct. No need to worry. aeternity will NOT compete for 'AEON' as a ticker symbol.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tau-Chain and Agoras Official Thread: Generalized P2P Network on: January 14, 2017, 07:40:25 PM
Hi Ohad,
It  looks like this project: www.aeternity.com  is very similar to Tau, they also aiming to be "Turing complete" and trying to solve the decidability problem by somehow implementing the decentralized "oracle machine"... I might be wrong though, I am not a tech so they Scientific Whitepaper is chinese for me Wink

it looks like a flavor of ethereum. tau tries not to be turing complete, exactly because it leads to undecidability
hi, www.aeternity.com is not a flavor of ethereum. it has not much to do with ethereum. it is a fully new implementation written in erlang with a new VM, which is stack-based, similar to Bitcoin, but turing-complete. this way it becomes easier to reason about and easier to write more secure smart contract code. generally, aeternity solves quite a lot of issues of ethereum for scalable real-world applications. ethereum is great for apps which require to keep all state and code on-chain, no doubt.

how does tau-chain compare to ethereum? where can I find an overview? would be great, thanks!

It is 'September' and not 'August' Wink corrected!
26  Local / Other languages/locations / Visiting Bangkok and Thailand starting 4th Sept. Want to connect to locals! on: August 29, 2015, 01:51:13 PM
Hello Thailand,

I am respected member of the European and American Bitcoin community. Will be visiting you starting next friday with Bangkok!

Maybe you have a room to rent or a couch to surf for a long-term Bitcoiner like me? I would definitely also need to sell some BTC for Thai bath right on the 4th or 5th of September. Where are the go-to places to meet fellow Bitcoiners?

Cheers!
27  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [BIP][Draft] BitID - "Connect with Bitcoin" protocol on: February 26, 2015, 12:57:36 PM
A oAuth bitId server would be nice to be able to integrate with existing apps who support oAuth without the need to learn another auth flow. Anybody working on this maybe?

Let's crowdfund one.

Qora.
NODE aka NXTL.
BitShares.

NODE does not exist AFAIK.

BitShares, they had mining at the beginning. Can not find quickly whether they are still doing POW and just talking/writing about DPOS... there is a lot of vaporware in cryptoland.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best pure POS coin? (or alternative 'mining') on: August 01, 2014, 04:21:54 PM
Let's compile a list if currently pure 100% POS coins and other coins with other methods to secure a distributed blockchain without POW.

I'll make the start:

Blackcoin
X15

NXT
Quora

Bitshares

Peershares? Is this real?

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Successful Attacks on 100% POS-coins on: June 30, 2014, 10:54:11 AM
NxT was attacked multiple times but it was mostly ddos
So far the only successful attack was on a pow coin "Worldcoin" this is what i know.

If you are talking of PoW, FTC was attacked multiple times but they never managed a double spend. So basically wasted hashpower.

Either Chinacoin or Whitecoin was 51% attacked successfully a few months ago (I think it was Chinacoin). Caused Crypsty all kinds of headaches cause thats who the hackers went too in order to double spend (not that I care, with amount that crypsty screws other people lol).
Whitecoin swaps PoW for PoS after falling victim to 51% attack - http://altcoinpress.com/2014/05/whitecoin-swaps-pow-for-pos-after-falling-victim-to-51-attack/
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Successful Attacks on 100% POS-coins on: June 29, 2014, 11:01:52 PM
If it is not secure, the earlier we hack it, the better for the cryptocoin community. We just move on.

If it is secure, than 100% POS-coins and their holders have nothing to fear. That simple it is.

Not sure it is quite that simple but you do have a point about testing the security of PoS. There is still the matter of finding a coin not monopolized by the mining industry.
So far POS seems to be more secure than POW. Several known attacks on POW-coins but none for POS-coins.

There have been many successful attacks on POW-coins already. I am interested in POS-coins only in this thread.

How did NxT overcome those DDoS-attacks?
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Successful Attacks on 100% POS-coins on: June 29, 2014, 03:17:10 PM
Hi there!

Have there been any successful attacks on 100% POS-coins like Blackcoin, Vericoin or NXT?

Has somebody tried to attack them? What experience did you make while doing it?

Is this coin better than xmr or not?

FUCK YES, WAY BETTER
Tell me more. How is it? Is it...?
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: June 16, 2014, 07:01:53 PM
I just think it is the discovery about the coin leading to a genuine interest in accumulating XMR at this stage. It doesn't feel like an artificial/manipulated pump.
It feels like Bitcoin early on. Just better.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero Economy on: June 16, 2014, 06:58:15 PM
There have been a lot of discussions why the community chose Monero over Bytecoin. Bytcoin was 80% secret-mined for example. You can be sure that just a few people have like 50 % of all Bytecoins which will ever exist.
