22  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Public Record] Sale with AndrewK on: September 11, 2012, 02:19:21 AM
4 btc received confirmed.

Wow, I tested 2 of the 3 a few months ago, see here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83850.msg924384#msg924384
and they have been sitting in a box since I couldn't think of anything else to do with them. The 3rd one stopped mining a month ago but would still post and it has been sitting with the other 2 since. I guess I will have to test them again before sending them out next time.

If you are still good with this deal let me know.

26  Economy / Computer hardware / [Public Record] Sale with AndrewK on: September 04, 2012, 04:23:50 PM
I have made a deal with AndrewK to sell 3 mining defective (meaning they post successfully and boot to graphical desktop in Linux but do not mine successfully) Reference 5850's.

He has a pretty high post count for being a month old account and has been buying up a lot of hardware, which normally seems a little suspicious. From his post history his intentions are noble, and he has 1 successful deal so far.

As such I have decided to accept a deal with him and make this public entry to track status.

Deal is 8 btc for 3 defective cards, I handle shipping. 4 btc before shipping, and 4 upon verified delivery.
27  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB:Broken Graphics cards... or working on: August 27, 2012, 06:35:26 PM
I have 3 x 5850 reference cards that post and boot but glitch when I start trying to mine with them. 2 have new fans and the third one is in good condition.I think all 3 were regreased as part of the troubleshooting them.
28  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2 x Reference 5850 - Won't Mine on: May 27, 2012, 07:27:21 PM
I wasn't aware you could flash a 5870 bios onto a 5850 without seriously damaging it.

It took some experimentation with different bios from techpowerup but I did the same modification to 7 cards in the end. Reference cards are a lot more flexible in what you can do with them. Once I did it to the first 2 I only bought reference cards after that. It's also why I re-greased and cleaned them out regularly. There's a pretty good track record of postings about this in my history from mid April on last year.
29  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 2 x Reference 5850 - Won't Mine on: May 27, 2012, 05:08:17 AM

I have 2 x Reference HD 5850's that no longer mine. They do post and work in 2D mode but lock up when I start a miner with them, even at stock speeds. I'm not sure where they were each individually purchased, but were certainly bought used from eBay or locally. They have 5870 BIOS's on them so I could run them at 975/325. They were re-greased with Arctic Silver 5 as needed and kept as close to 70C as possible while mining. Their fans are in good condition.

I am hoping to get 15 btc/ea, but will take a reasonable offer considering the condition. Willing to ship anywhere buyer pays.

Edit: I have one reference from selling another dead card here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=484.msg478103#msg478103

Edit: Per suggestion of a user PM I tested both cards 3D with fgl_glxgears and gltron and both cards tested smoothly for a few minutes each at stock speed.

I was wondering how long it was going to take to launch SquishyCoin 3. I'm a little disappointed it took this long, but apparently it took a little longer to write the marketing fluff and cultivate new alts/useful idiots.

Congrats on your next failure.
31  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Deepbit needs to be dismantled immediately. on: April 01, 2012, 08:58:46 AM
I don't care what the means are. They have the direct ability and financial incentive to influence the dev team to their whims -- and vice-versa. The 30%+ hash rate is a dangerous majority and needs to be lowered to less than 10%.

The ignorance just makes me want to move all my miners to Deepbit.

It seems that soon we are going to need a Occupy Bitcoin sub-forum and a Tea-Bagger forum to accompany it
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I bought someones liquidation - was it you? on: February 13, 2012, 05:44:08 AM
5.20 * (1 - .006) = 5.1688

That's where he's getting it.

Maged can you explain what formula this is?
Mtgox charges 0.6% commission on trades (on each side).  Thus, the mtgox bid is 0.6% higher that what you could actually get for those bitcoin (and the ask is 0.6% lower than what you'd actually end up paying to buy bitcoins).  I imagine he's speculating that bitcoinica is showing the bid prices with the fee factored in.

This doesn't seem accurate for all trades done on Mt Gox with the volume based fee scales unless he is privy to the fees involved in every trade. Even if he is representing his own trades he should be getting better then 0.6% fees for the volumes he has moved. I found it a bit odd at first that Mt Gox was shifting the price to include fees when the order executed rather than showing the trade and deducting the fee after execution. It looks like they have changed this to the latter style now and it's much less confusing in the history so you can actually see what you traded at vs having to calculate your price point without the fees.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: artforz and coblee gpu mining litecoin since the start? on: February 13, 2012, 03:45:51 AM
Getting tired of calling me incompetent yet? No? Okay. keep on then...
So wait, I'm supposed to release a SC2 GPU miner to the public out of the goodness of my heart when you fuckwads publically spread defamatory comments about me? Kindly go fuck yourself.

As for how much GPU mining I have been doing, I had 24 5970s up until about late summer '11... then sold em, because at 0.22EUR/kWh keeping a mining farm after that would be kinda ... stupid, no?

And as for me publically admitting I gave away a SC2 GPU miner? well, did I ever claim otherwise? ... Wait, nobody ever asked! Just LOL ARTFORZ IS DICKMINER trolling from you, which I can honestly claim is false. Now if you said LOL ARTFORZ WROTE A SC2 MINER BY REING SC2 BETA AND GIVES IT TO WHOEVER ASKS... that'd be different. But no one ever came close to that.

Oh you spam a chain and they bad mouth you. Diddums.  Cry Poor little artforz just does nothing to noone and people are picking on him. The big meanies.  Grin

True to style. Never answer the hard or technical questions with something above the level of a 5th grader.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me that the bitcoin elite cannot become the next Rothschild family on: February 02, 2012, 05:30:07 PM
I am sick and fucking tired of the world being manipulated by the powers that be. It isn't about wealth, it is about control. It is about debt-based economies that keep the middle and poor classes under its boot and stifle humanity.

I'm sick and tired of people whining about how they are sick and tired of this or that and everyone else is to blame. Take some personal responsibility for your situation and quit blaming everyone else. You still have the freedom to make your own destiny, though it seems you would rather blame others than use it.

I want the world to be a better place, and I truly believe that central banking is at the core of war and famine. It is hilariously sad that the "richest nation in the world" has 47 million people in poverty.

Bleak fact, but the the above applies to them as much as you. All 47 million will not become permanently middle class if all the wealth was spread around. Some people are in bad situations that they can't currently control, but some are also just looking for a handout and will put themselves right back in the same position eventually no matter how much you give them.

I find it disheartening that my fellow citizens and I are manipulated into believing that leaders like Muammar Gaddafi are evil and worthy of assassination; when reality shows that the people of Libya were wealthy and happy.

I'm not going to argue the human rights angles of taking out dictators, especially since you used it as a straw man argument. If you think that dictatorial regimes are the end all, be all of personal freedom and financial equality I implore you to go join one and see how you like it.

You are a small small man.

With a big big Napoleon Complex.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: On the Solidcoin Economic Changes on: January 31, 2012, 02:34:33 AM
So when can we expect V3 of SpongyCoin?

I say it will take a while for most of the non-cultists to stop mining.

Anyone want to future bet what the version will be by the 1 year mark?
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solidcoin DMCA takedown on: January 30, 2012, 08:50:10 AM

Holy shit. You need to work on your PR, because you're turning several previously neutral parties against you with this sort of drivel.

Several? Neutral? Exactly who is neutral about this or his crappy bitcoin ripoff?

He's obviously attention starved, quit giving it to him.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solidcoin DMCA takedown on: January 30, 2012, 05:07:39 AM
Wait a second here... wasn't CH/RS banned from this forum? Didn't we have to wade through pages of the sorrowful tale of this copyright infringing, piss-poor code stealing, mouth-breathing troglodyte whining about how unfair that was?

Listen up you sniveling little bitch...

You broke the rules. Whether or not you changed it back, or shifted your code repository to another country what you did violated the terms of the license and was theft. That repulsive little slug luke-jr. has the right to bring a DMCA action against you, he did, you lost and got spanked.

Crying horseshit little tunes about perjury, libel or slander is just about the most infantile form of online discourse imaginable. You are fucking half-wit rip-off artist living in Australia. Luke the cunt got your US based site pulled down under US law. You shifted your site to Germany, and changed the offending sections of the code after the fact. Where are going to bring a cause of action against luke? Outer Fucking Mongolia? Stop acting the fool, and just go back to playing with your ShortBusCoin, and scamming your adoring throng of four or five love slaves. Nobody here gives a damn about your trials and troubles, nobody here would care if Soviet space debris fell on your mom's house and crushed you in the basement.

Giving thought to a narcissistic attention whore with delusions of grandeur is counter productive.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So I guess "Glorious Leader's" deflationary gamble didn't work. on: November 01, 2011, 07:43:04 PM
Seems to me that Solidcoin has not only managed to create the first digital fiat currency, they've also managed to create the first digital central reserve and managed to screw it up with failed monetary policy.

This is turning into an awesome "What not to do" for someone looking for an economics thesis.
