21  Economy / Speculation / Re: How it went from 780$ to 708$ in hours ? on: June 21, 2016, 08:55:45 AM
I'm not sure how much it took exactly , 24-48 hours but how this happened... I was really optimistic about the whole thing and I was kinda sure that It's going to rise as hell , now I woke up (once again, things happens when I'm sleeping) , I checked preev and I found this huge price decrease ... So what's the matter ? Pure manipulation by the Chinese?

First get this silly notion that all chinese people act as one
most mining farms MOVED to china so most transactions would obviously be located in China
China as a country has no influence
and saying manipulation by chinese, is a very naive comment, like they all get together and plan sht

There is always a chance of miners manipulating prices,
but all we are seeing at present is profit taking by big whales

dont expect price of BTC to be one way only,
of course many price rises are the speculative trading
and many (big whale) traders will take profit along the way,
when they do this causes a price drop, which usually then many other traders follow suit,
closing trades to take profit
and then buy back in once price has stopped falling

If price falls by so much, its a clear sign it was previously overpriced due to speculation
in trading the drop is then called a correction
which means BTC is now at a more realistic price at present
which is still higher than it was months ago
and still lower than it will be in a few months time

with the halving coming up (dont expect magic on one day)
we will see quite a few bubbles and corrections over the next 6 months
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Law Would Send Bitcoin Users to Jail as Cybercriminals on: June 21, 2016, 06:03:48 AM
The sad thing is that this will only stop the normal users from using bitcoin. The criminals who were using it before won't stop using it because the government says so.
on the good side, it will help increase bitcoins value, just like anything else that is made illegal
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The geeks are the new millionaires in this digital age. on: June 21, 2016, 06:00:08 AM
When Bitcoins first started, it was seen as a form of geeky adventure. Nerds and geeks were viewed by non-IT people with different lens. But perhaps those nerds and geeks who started mining for fun half a decade ago and hoarded thousands of bitcoins are now the new millionaires.

Who's laughing now? Perhaps the overweight geeks hiding in the basements with thousands of bitcoins will be overwhelmed by hot chicks in this time and age

You seem to be very slow to pick up on whats now been the situation for many years
who you call geeks, most will call programmers or coders
and potential of earnings for compitent programmers is unlimited

but you are now very very late to the party, like others mentioned too many at it these days so you need to have exceptional work and workrate to stand out from the crowd

Just look what 2 "geeks" in a garage done in 1997
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price fixing up again? Why this Price drop? on: June 21, 2016, 05:55:56 AM
Bitcoin Price is fixing up, ive bought 2 BTC in this Time.
See Below:

Why do u think this Price drop was now for 2~ hours ?

Profit taking from whales
25  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you guys react if you guys lost 10, 000 bitcoin? on: June 18, 2016, 07:14:26 AM
you dont make that much from signature ad campaigns
(you make sweet FA really)

so you are asking in the wrong place as nobody here will ever have that amount.
mostly satflaps on bitcointalk
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When do you think bitcoin will be able to use in buying things online? on: June 13, 2016, 09:30:10 AM

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for apologizes from those that wanted to change Bitcoin blocksize... on: June 13, 2016, 09:06:45 AM
I like your idea franky. It's true that if the fees is lowered by 10x by a 10x bigger block and 10x more transactions the fee income for miners remain constant. However the storage and data transmission costs increase by 10x too.

the storage and data transmission costs do not increase.

EG say you bought a 2TB hard drive for $100..
the blockchain size right now is not even filling that hard drive by 5%..
meaning you do not need to buy a new hard drive right away simply because the capacity has increased. it would take years to fill a 2TB hard drive.

secondly mining pools manage the blockchain.. mining ASICs do not see the blockchain. they are just handed a handfull of bytes to process.. so its not like the price/fee/capacity affects ASICS.

worse case a mining pool in a few years has to but another hard drive.. and at $100 its not a issue for a pool raking in thousands an hour

So as 10x more is relatively small in a digital universe let's go to 1Gb block (1000x more than current) you know the tps of visa, MasterCard, American Express+various pos system from national countries combined? How to store the blockchain and keep it decentralized? You see the problem with Bitcoin supremacism?

the Visa numbers are exaggerated. and also pushing for 1gb blocks now is also a stupid idea.. it should be a slow growth progression. not a jump from being a toddler to being a giant over night.. again: slow and steady growth

put it this way.. in the year 2000 a 3gb hard drive was $200... 16 years later a 3,000gb(3TB) is $200...(bitcoin yearly bloat is 2% of hard drive MAX)
imagine the capacity you can buy in the next 16 years, for just $200

put it this way.. in the year 2000 a 56k internet was average 16 years later 5,600k(5.6m) internet is average... imagine the bandwidth in the next 16 years (remember some people can already get 100mb internet now, even if its not popular in the next few years it will be. and then in 16 years it would be higher again)

why oh why do those who dont want increased capacity only think supersmall or giant.. without thinking of logical natural growth in between
its like a toddler saying "when i grow up i want to own a billionaire business"
my reply is. "while stil a child, start a lemonade stand. put that profit/pocketmoney into something else, when your at highschool start a business.. then when your an adult use the profits to expand the business, then you actually have a chance of getting what you want"

agreed, i have wondered why so many are impatient and want it all now when really bitcoin is not ready for everything now, as bitcoin is still a baby really and needs time to grow
people moaning their 0.01 btc transaction isnt confirmed instantly is a joke really
i use btc for international transfers, and 10 minutes is really nothing to wait (compared to 3-5 biz days)
and i do not see these delays people mention
but someone did explain to me that low value transactions that have recently moved will take longer to confirm
than say 5 BTC transaction where the 5 BTC have been sat idle prior to being sent.

but with computers and internet speeds being constantly improved
surely network will be ready by the time btc is
as right now BTC is not adopted by the masses so micro payments are not a priority as of right now
although it will help mass adoption if payments were confirmed quickly just for user peace of mind
but then again even businesses do not need to wait for confirmations (as much as the average cautious btc user does)
as the MAJORITY of the public are honest and will not attempt scamming a company for a cup of coffee
and business (well good ones) always account for fraud in their business model
as fraud with fiat is rampant
and before any starts ranting about double spending
it really does not apply for small businesses
as who would go to the effort for a scam worth a pittance
and majority of users once btc is adopted by the masses wont have a clue how to double spend anyway

transactions are instant, only confirmations take time,
and for any small business it would not even be a worry really
and any big business taking decent sums, well then they can wait 10 minutes as amount will justify the wait
28  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 07:11:25 AM
Locking this topic now had enough replies to get the opinion of ad campaigners

as you can see from the poll

ad campaigners think it is perfectly acceptable to reply with dribble comments.

Clearly showing which direction this forum will take in future.
29  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 07:04:45 AM
Heh. Why'd you delete my post? I thought you had nothing against sig campaigners. Does this post look like dribble to you?

I think of signature ad campaigns as a cool implementation to the forum taken too far. Maybe there should be a rule enforced by the mods, where a campaign every week will have to update a list and send it to a person who will put up a total list of sig campaigners that can automatically be ignored by people. Some people can be whitelisted as you look onwards.

If you really think ad campaigns are killing the forum; then just don't go to the places ad posters go. The only real place you'd come to the forum for is technical discussions, speculation and maybe some altcoin and project development. Other than that, everything is just asking to be spammed. (Like off topic. There are so many other forums where you can talk shit, it shouldn't be done here.)

Oh, yes. This belongs in Meta.

I have nothing against ad campaigners
your comments are still clearly visible (in my reply to your comment)
if you read the threads comments you would see this
but many ad campaigners do not read through the threads
i just want to see a thread without ads
30  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 07:03:07 AM
I think it depends on the signature campaign rules, as you are seeing a number of signature campaign managers have made their rules strict so the members of that campaigns are very beneficial for this forum and they are providing beneficial info to the forum, and are giving good time to the posts and forum etc. I think the rules (by the managers) should have to take care of the forum.

Problem i see it being is more of bitcointalk, not having enough moderators and allowing it to get so bad.

campaign manager usually use bots to check anything, which likely is just a character count so easily abused.

bitcointalk just needs a strong moderator community, to moderate and clean threads and also make some stickies or first page threads
just to clean up the dribble
so newbies can find answers without the need of searching through pages and pages of dribble

so far only 2 other user have replied without ads
(1 i suspect is an account owned by a user that has ads on other accounts)
31  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:54:34 AM
Signature campaign makes bitcointalk alive. Loads of people who would not have usually come here have done so because they can make a bit of cash on the side,What would become of bitcoin if signature campiagns were stopped and then nobody was talking about bitcoin anymore? I have friends who only got into bitcoin after hearing about signature campaigns and now they are avid bitcoin supporters. This wouldnt have been possible without the campaigns to start them off.
so everyone is only interested in bitcoin so they can make a dollar a day after putting in hours of dribble posting ................

maybe we not playing on the same field
maybe too many satflaps running ad campaigns
32  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:52:56 AM
But in the other hand ad campaigners also make this forum alive though. Signature campaign have the good and bad affect to this forum, but i think ad campaigners not killing this forum.

but the bad is heavily outweighing the good
33  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:52:08 AM
I'm sure you might remove most of the sig campaign posters in this thread later, but I might as well give it a shot.

better yet he must create his own forum where sig campaign is prohibited. for the author never listen to the comments and keep insisting what is on his mind Cheesy

how can you say i dont listen when i have read every comment before i reply,
again someone not reading the thread fully.

for example, i recently closed a thread that had 9 pages of dribble replies none had actually anything helpful
and many of the people replying could not answer question as they were not in a position to do so financially

Yes i am deleting ads,
BUT i am replying to every post i delete so the commenill visible in the thread
i agree with you on part
that yes admin should implement something to curb the dribble posts,
like a fee for accounts to run ads in signature, this would just prevent the ones that start ads and post dribble from the start.
as i already stated the ignore list does nothing at present, as you still must go through pages of ignored comments
site admin need to change so imply not displayed at all (really not hard to do)
and ad posters are everywhere here, on all topics
35  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:44:37 AM
Do not generalize every single person here in the forum with ads in their signature space as the same. If you find someome whos just posting irrelevant posts, report it to a mod so they can do something with it. Some people does helps the community here even when they are advertizing. You can use the ignore button also if you don't want to see them. Afaik, there is also a plugin to disable signature in the forum, I can't rememer where to find it but there is someone who made it for people like you who don't want to see ads.

who is generalizing Huh??
if you read the POLL it states dribble replying

i have nothing against ads etc.
but people posting replies just for the sake of their ad campaign
admin will not take  will lose traffic
36  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:43:12 AM
Signature Campaigns are helping the users to earn. But the problem is, sometimes the user replies on a thread without thinking if their post will be helpful or if it has sense, they are just thinking of their signature campaign Sad However, I know it will reflect on their account's post quality. There are  also duplicate threads, just the same question asked using different words. But for all of these, I will let the mods and staffs to take the action. What can we do to help them is to not be like that. We must continue posting threads with the best of our knowledge or comment with our honest and helpful opinion.

i think sometimes could be stated as most of the time
so many replies are just generic responses, that could be shorted to 3 or less words
and many replies have no basis for opinion (when talking value, predictions etc.)
37  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:41:05 AM
In the start I think it was being destroyed by the signature campaigns but no the managers are more active and keep check on all the posts they get from the posters and also they have now made good rules which are protecting the forum from being destroyed.
admin will only do so much as they also want to keep traffic
38  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:40:06 AM
it's the opposite, without signature this place would be as good as dead, they bring good traffis which is good

i like to call it traffic and not spammy, i don't see all that spam that people are complaining about, seriously apart from two 3 user that are clearly spamming

all the other are just posting their opinion, if you think that this is also spamming, then you are brain-lost

If you dont see the dribble you must be blind
yes this place would be very quiet without ad campaigners
which is why admin do nothing
but quality is better than quantity
so many posts could be shortened to yes, no, i agree/disagree, what he said etc.
but are just dragged out so the posters comment is seen as constructive (by bots usually just counting characters)
39  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:36:39 AM
It is the duty of signature campaign manager that they keep an open eye on the posts of their campaign members and the moderators also have to note the activities of the posters, so it will be better for both the forum and for the advertisers.

Like i said bitcointalk need to realize less is more sometimes
or they could do with a lot more sticky threads that have already beeaned
so newbies looking for answers can find them

Also
seems one ad poster realized his ad would not be in this thread long so he deleted his own comment
40  Other / Meta / Re: Are AD campaigners killing Bitcointalk.org ? on: June 13, 2016, 06:33:14 AM
With signature campaigns the forums are not killed but they are given life, as I have saw another forum which was about to die sooner but with some signature campaigns when started it got life again .

doesnt give it life it gives it ads

as i already stated problem with bitcoin forums is that there really isnt that much news on a daily basis
hence the state questions and answers here
