21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ⚡ Electroneum ⚡ Token Sale Sept 14th Mobile Mining Crypto Coin on: September 30, 2017, 11:26:30 PM
IF total coins available are 1bil by the end of the sale, mcap at .01$ per etn is 10mil. How is that high??
O.K. That makes more sense, I just looked at https://coinmarketcap.com/ and the valuations are on are AVAILABLE not total amount expected, which makes sense

I'll have to re-read again ... Is 1 billion their trget goal or is 1 billion total already sold ?

Anyone have any idea how many coins are expected to be mined daily/monthly right away ?

Looking forward to trying to 'mobile mine' that's for sure - no matter what that is awesome

Here's my problem with investing ito this coin

Immediately after the ICO sale (with the price of the coin X total coins available) you are looking at a market cap in the top 20 cryptos out of 800 on the market. .

I'm not against investing this. But this should have a hell of a lot more then "a great team with potential" to put it ito the top 20 valuations of all cryptos immediately .... a shame as I really WANT to invest. If it was one decimal place cheaper it would be a great deal with room  for increase in total market cap with theit growth. Right now - even with the quantity of tokens you get. I have a very difficult time rationalizing the investment.

I personally GUARANTEE this is why the ICO hasn't been wildly successful - even though it has been successful

24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / I'm confused here guys on: September 22, 2017, 12:23:45 PM
I'm thrown for a loop here guys, can someone point out "Where" I'm being an idiot (I know I'm being one lol)

I have a R280X that "loooks" like this except the XFX is on the far left of the front instead of being in the middle. Same color everything though.

On the back sticker, and when recognized by my computer it says "R280X" however the sticker on the back said "2GB" not 3GB" which is all I've seen listed I googled for R280X 2GB and had no luck finding the one I have ..

https://imgur.com/a/nVmF6

Anyways, when I'm hashing I'm getting 90-95 sol/second on ZCash using NH Legacy Miner .... I read another article I thought I bookmarked but I found this here saying they are getting 300 sol/s out of their card(s) by flashing them ..

Do I have a model this doesn't work with ? Since it seems most of the links are talking about 3GB R280X and I appear to have a 2GB R280X

If I could actually triple my hash rate I'd be as happy as a pig rolling around in s%#t ...

I just thought I'd ask before I go about and possibly brick my card. In case the model I have does not work ... Still confused about the 2GB vs 3 GB deal. If it wasnt for that I would already be figuring out which package applied to my card and flashing it. First read this a few days ago and checked on and off the last few days looking for more info about my 2 GB model but don't seem to be able to find it. It really looks like the R7770 but it's coming upp as R280X on my miner and on the sticker on the back of the card.

EDITED : JUST LOOKED, SAYS R7 200  not 280X on my miner/tweak software
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best HW To Mine Multi AltCoins? on: October 02, 2016, 09:50:30 PM

Thank guys !

I'm usually a 'balls to the walls' type of guy, meaning I woud of aited and saved up $5,000 and probably speent a month confused and frustrated getting the rig to work lol. I really thought a lot about this. I had problems syncing the DB up for Ethereum even when  was doing it just for shit's sake if I remember right, so I decided the cheaper I start the better.

To be honest ? It's not even about making money off of it. It's about the experience for me. Well, right now anyways hahaha .... Down the road, a different story I'm sure.

Thanks for telling me I'm on the right path when I was thinking of starting off with a cheap GPU. I wasn't sure though which is why I listed the other options as well ... Figured I'd let experienced miners tell me the best route as I know 'nothing' about mining' yet !!

Anyways, if anyone else has anything to add ... My ears are wide open. In the mean time. I think I'm going to take the tower to Best Buy and ask what kind of slot I have, if I need an extra fan, if my PSU supports a card, what the best card I can get is ... I know some websites show hash rates for higher end cards but is there one that would show hash rates for cards such as the types I would be looking at ?

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best HW To Mine Multi AltCoins? on: October 02, 2016, 08:20:55 AM
I'm looking for the best Hardware to mine multiple AltCoins and START CHEAPLY !

I'm aware each coin uses a different type of algo .... SHA256/Scrypt/X11 etc ....

I thought I saw a device that touted "we support all hash rates" but I haven't looked it up again yet. I wanted to ask about it here first.

Main reason is I'm aware ASIC miners built for BC can't be users for Ether etc .... So is it really possible a device like this exists ?

Also, right now I have a few choices.

1) Few year old laptop (Quad Processor) so it would pretty much have to be an external USB type of device

2) a VERY old PC, came with WIN 7 installed factory. I can't even tell what type of graphics card slot it has, so I'm not sure if I could add a graphics card..

3) If needed I could build a milk box .... Although board, CPU, PSU alone would be in the $200 range .... Shown above I have a board etc, Suppose I need to figure out if that board supports the right graphics cards. which would be PCI Express (Am I Right?)

4) If my old box only supported an older graphics card, would it be worth starting with that ? Even if it was a lot slower ... Would at least give me a feel and pry only be $50 for a card.

Honestly, and this may be unrealistic, I'm looking for a way to get in around $300 or so. I don't want to mine BC, Ether, LC, or even DOGGE, I want to mine the obscure and unknown coins. Mainly for the experience and fun. Considering it an investment in future mining endeavors. Which is why I want to get in as cheaply as possible.

It's also why I'd like to support as many algos as possible. I'm guessing GPU would be my best route ? If I have to be confined to say 5-6 alt-coins, so be it ... But it would be a huge waste as far as my learning curve. Tomorrow I'll google for the device I mentioned and post it. I think it may have actually been WAY out of my price range though.

Anyways, any suggestions on where to go from her would be appreciated. Such as most commonly used algo for Alt Coins or other any general suggestions. Also if there are super lightweight devices for each algorithim that could get me in the door - similar to USB AntMiners you can find on AliBaba for $30 - Which I'm assuming couldnt be used for ANY altcoins, only BC?

Sorry so long, and Thanks for reading
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / NXT : ARDOR, waiting for reply .. Listed on USTD on polo ? Purpose ? on: August 31, 2016, 01:14:06 AM

Think eth etc
28  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / 3 verifications, please,elaborate on: August 15, 2016, 10:59:05 PM

oK, I understand major companies such as trading platforms (no names) want 3 verifications.

Can I ask does this really take 30 minutes on BitCoin Blockchains now ? If so, I really do understand the need for a hard fork for POS reasons ... However I'm curious, if I saw a deposit into my wallet, what are the chances it would be removed. I'm also wondering how that would be done. A little bit of in depth info here would be nice. I understand 51 percent attacks, and sort of understand the relay or replay attacks on Eth/Etc. I will read more into that.

I'd like a semi technical answer. I understand basics, and don't mind googling what I don't know ... I don't want thesis answers though please lol ...

I know this isn't the AltCoins section, so I can ask separately there the same question if you would prefer. But I'm wondering about the same situation with AltCoins. I'm assuming it's the same as blockchains are blockchains, but sizes and mixers, etc could also have timing impact on those coins.

I would appreciate any help understanding this.
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Big Time Beginner - Interested in mining pool earnings by hash rate .. on: May 11, 2016, 03:39:36 AM
O.K. I am going to be asking quite a few questions the next week- Sorry guys ! I will also be doing a lot of reading in conjunction.

This is one answer I know I haven't been able to find anywhere so far.

I'm wondering, and I realize different pools pay differently, what the average payout by hash rate per coin/alt-coin

Example - If I get 20 MB/sec Hash Rate and am doing Bitcoin only, what kind of payouts can I expect ?
Example - If I end up with 2 MB/sex hash rate mining Ether only, what kind of payout do you get ?

Any other, ANY other mining pool coins you mine - I'd like to here about as well. Especially Monero, as I'm going to do a bare bone start there with CPU only. I know - pointless but I want to learn the bottom up.

I'd like to see ANYONE who is willing to post their type of payout in a format like

XXMB/sec - Bitcoin - BC X.XXXXXXXXXX  a day or month ...
XXMB/sec - Ether - ETH X.XXXXXXXXXX  a day or month ...

As well as any alt coins you may mine. Solo mining counts too - please just put a note that you solo mine.

I think this is a great topic, and I know the amounts will shrink often (payout rates) as the hash rates worldwide grow dramatically. Just interested.

If you could after posting your Earnings per hash rate - Please answer the following question.

Do you think the inflationary effect of Mined Coins is essentially the consistent increase in Hash Rates ? How would you compare modern day hash rate increase trends to a percentage of a normal currency inflation rate ?

Thanks for answering everyone. The information on amount earned is really going to be helpful - I will add a list (editing this post) as time goes on with answeres so future readers don't have to look. I think it just gives new investors an idea of what type of returns to expect based on equipment they are buying Shocked)
