21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN- JEWELS 🔷 MMORPG 🔷 ICO OPEN 🔷 PLAY NOW 4 FREE 🔷VERIFIABLE TRUSTED DEV 🔷 on: August 19, 2016, 08:27:20 AM
looking good here,, i will look more into this in the coming days and will have questions id like to be answered before investing any kind of sum.

The devs are really good at answering questions and usually very fast at it to so once you figure out what you want to ask I'm sure you'll get your reply swiftly.

That is something the dev team does exceptionally well actually, they never leave you hanging. Depending on your question I'm sure we can help you as well.
So that could open the door for poorer country residents to play the game and get rare? Items and sort after items and be able to trade for Jewels and cash in, then being able to buy whatever they needed in real life. That sounds cool

I like the idea of some kind of promotional material where users can get their hands on some free Jewels, I'd be willing to put some of my Jewels into the pot to help that work. Did you see the post a few back that mentioned about and in-game walk in casino, Would that be possible?

Currently this is what our gambling room looks like in Heroes.

The provably fair gambling games will be developed in unity and embedded through a HTML5 compatible web view. Players can access those games from these rooms in our server but those who have no interest/knowledge of our game can also play those gambling games through their own gambling website.

It's worth reminding that the gambling games will be just that, actual games. They will have proper graphics, sounds and effects to make the experience fun for players. Too often I've seen crypto gambling sites that look more like a spreadsheet. While there's of course plenty of people who are fine with that, it's not the route we're looking to take.

Simply wow, that is a very good looking casino suite so far and I would like if they have a room where we can relieve the days stresses. I kinda like my animated  Tongue Could plans be made to integrate a brothel? Maybe I could be the host of it.

That is a pimping gambling room. You're a funny pimp lol To relieve the days stress you naughty boy Medow, the brothel sounds amazing but I think I should be the one that runs that because of my pimping experience.

If you're a real pimp you don't wait to invest. You research and once you know you have a winner you invest, why would you wait.

not everyone is or wants to be a real pimp lol
i agree aftre you research and want to invest there really is no point waiting to invest on a project like this.
question to dev team, will the provably fair gambling be able to be in game in a real casino setting?
i think that will be a very nice touch.

You will never be PimpingsincePimping with that attitude. Even though you are not pimping, your idea is pimping. A in-game real life walk in casino  Roll Eyes Shocked is that possible dev team?
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN- JEWELS 🔷 MMORPG 🔷 ICO OPEN 🔷 PLAY NOW 4 FREE 🔷VERIFIABLE TRUSTED DEV 🔷 on: August 18, 2016, 09:38:04 AM
This ico ends for me at 6 am. I had hoped to invest during the last few hours but after looking at the time I see that wont be possible unless I decide to set an alarm and wake up extra early for it. It wont be the first time I set an alarm to wake up and buy a coin but on that Thursday I have a scheduled meeting at the Process Troubleshooting and Problem solving convention and need to be in top shape for it. Its going to be close but maybe I'll wake up around 5 am, buy my jwl hopp into a shower and head downtown and get ready for my meeting over some breakfast.

Anyone else here trying to wait for the last few moments to invest or is it just me?

Waiting for the last few minutes to buy is not a bad idea but its not helping the project. If you like the project then show your support and support it by investing and showing others your investment by having it on the ico page. That will help to build up some motion in the ocean and help bring in more investors, which in turn will help Chris get to the 200 btc goal which in turn will allow for a quick and painless development time which will turn into earlier profits for him, Pro4never and the investors.
If you like it put a ring on it like beyonce said.  Wink

I'll take you post under consideration. You have valid points that I cant argue.

Why would you invest in the last few hours if the project doesn't get to 200 BTC your last minute contribution won't do any good to this project. Invest in early, show your support and once BTCs start to stack up others will see an opportunity to invest in it before the ICO ends. Else your last minute contribution will just get refunded if it doesn't meet the goal Chris set.

For most ICO, I also usually leave until the end if I invest but your point is valid, if you believe in the project then it would be a good idea to show that support early on and give more chance for the project to be a success. I have no doubts it will.

If you're a real pimp you don't wait to invest. You research and once you know you have a winner you invest, why would you wait.

The Brand Ambassadors will be cool additions to your team, I like that idea. What languages are you focusing them openings on mainly or is there no minimum?

Keeping an eye on this one. 8 days to do all the checks is plenty of time.

Not to mention I validated the EPVP account in the OP and he also could have just googled my username and found over a decade of involvement in gaming, private servers and general programming with no negative history.

Clearly I'm fake and 'unverified' lol. Just ignore the trolls they just want attention.

When I see verifiable dev, the first thing I do is verify him/you lol I mean why wouldn't anyone in crypto do the same? If you want to make it in crypto then you gotta do due diligence and not miss out on projects with real world use. That is exactly what trolls want, I do find them amusing. Their stupidity level I mean.

Because you're one of the smarter investors of the forum even if you're newbie.
You ask why wouldn't people do the same?
Because many people in crypto are actually lazy imho.
Some trolls just act stupid to get your attention when really I have seen some clever trolls.

I guess that makes sense as a reason why people don't verify when it so easy for them to do so. Clever trolls hahaha ok

Is there bitcoin bank that pays interest?

You're not pimping and deserve to lose that BTC after that sickening statement. We are not sheeple, I hope the real pimps will never let greed take over and give the power to the banksters AGAIN.

Anyone who invests here is stupid and may be retarded aswell. This is just a copy of someone else's game and I bet its players are mostly bots anyway. Why would anyone invest here when they can invest in c2 or hyper or digibyte which are much better investments in my professional opinion.

So we have a copy and paste game, with bots and maybe 2 real players. One of them being the developer Chris. Yeah throw your btc at this guy. Bravo!

This certainly isn't a copy of a game. Yes, we are using an existing client however the content provided on our server is entirely unique. There are plenty of quests, tournaments and events that exist on our game that do not exist on the commercial game. From this it is possible to make the argument, that if a commercial game is mismanaged (which Conquer Online definitely is) it is very possible for a game built on its client to be more attractive then the commercial game itself. An example of this is unless you are the type of person who is willing to dump thousands of dollars into a game, you probably won't enjoy the commercial Conquer Online that much.

In regards to your list of other investments, we have made a post previously explaining the difference between the models used which you can read here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1545327.msg15642283#msg15642283

This is the furthest thing from a copy-paste game and I would recommend you download the game and give it a try. You'll see from just moments after logging in it most certainly is not "bots and maybe 2 real players."

Hope you have a chance to try it out Smiley

Yeah yeah its a fucking copy of a game dont lie. And how are you verifiable and trusted? Because you make a video? Give me some honest proof about who you are. Chris cook? That name sounds made the fuck up! Who are you really and why the fuck should we trust you?

Why make a new account and not just come here and speak your mind from your real account like the rest of us.

Just let him troll - devs have been more than upfront with everything.

Trolls trolls everywhere. With the smallest amount of research with the facts provided you would know how he is verifiable and a very good pimp to be backing.

When you've been pimping as long as me you will quickly realize that this project is pimping.

It is breakfast time here, Im'a dig deep over croissant and tea.

So far so good, keep on pimping.

Backsoon.

You know you're doing well when you have a pimp looking you over  Grin

Lol if only you knew how pimping I really was.

After looking through the main op and then a bit of back search on who you are dev, I'm happy this is legit and even more happy to take some profits from other coins and invest here. He has a very long history in gaming and being professional within a gaming community, it is indeed verifiable.

I look forward to joining your game and crypto community

32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses Kelly Criteria? on: August 03, 2016, 08:23:19 PM
Thank you very much once again for taking your time to explain this to me, so lastly, for clarification (I've probably over complicated things here but):

Code:
// note:
// mult - is the odds the user is playing with, i.e. 2x is 1:1
// bet - is the users bet
// bankroll - self explanatory
// edge - house edge, 1.01 in this case for 1%

            var q = 1.00 / (mult * edge); // chance of house losing
            var p = 1.00 - q; // chance of house winning
            var house_bet = bet * (mult - 1);

            var ev = (p * bet) + (q * -house_bet);
            return (ev / bet) * bankroll;

What is done then with the returned value (ev / bet) * bankroll to ensure that the bet is valid and meets the kelly criteria? Is it that the server then needs to ensure (ev / bet) * bankroll > house_bet
33  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses Kelly Criteria? on: August 03, 2016, 06:47:01 PM
Can you explain this a bit more sorry but it didn't quite sink in? (newbie)

Get the expected value of the bet

Right now from what you've said my understanding is:

(Huh / playerBet) * houseBR

Is the "expected value" suppose to be what the player would stand to profit?
The expected value is the profit the house can expect to for each bet. A 1 BTC bet on dice with a 1% house edge has a expected value of 0.99BTC to the player, so the expected value to the house is 1.01BTC(?). I might be wrong about the EV for the house in that situation, since I haven't seen it shown anywhere. (granted, no sites really have a reason to show it)

Shouldn't the probability of the houses win/loss be accounted for? It seems to be ignored here - for example when a user bets 2x on a 1% edge its 49.50% they win, therefore 49.50% the house loses.

From what I've understood so far based on whats been said, if there's a bank roll of 100 BTC, and a person bets 5 BTC with a house edge of 1%
Code:
EV = 5 * (0.01) = 0.05
risk = (0.05/5) * 100 = 1

therefore we would consider this an invalid bet because risk < persons bet.

but suppose they bet 1 BTC instead,
Code:
EV = 1 * (0.01) = 0.01
risk = (0.01/1) * 100 = 1

this is valid since risk >= persons bet?

but to me it seems like this could be generalized to risk = edge * BR since EV/playerBet = edge
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses Kelly Criteria? on: August 03, 2016, 06:15:29 PM
In the case of a two-outcome bet, it's trivial.

From the houses perspective: Get the expected value of the bet, divide by the most amount of money you can make from that bet (the lose outcome from the player perspective). Then multiply that by your bankroll, and that is the most amount of money you should risk.

It's *significantly* more complex for multi-outcome bets (e.g. slot machines, plinko etc.)

As for if most casinos do it, that's a strong no. Most bitcoin casino owners are lacking in the maths department, I'm aware of 5+ casinos misunderstanding the kelly and using it wrongly. I can only think of just-dice.com which actually does everything properly, but it's not even a bitcoin casino Sad

That's unfortunate that they don't try and understand the math before opening a gambling site, lol. Just-Dice is the golden egg when it comes to doing things right. Well done to them.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / The houses Kelly Criteria? on: August 03, 2016, 05:30:08 PM
So I have been wondering,

In the case of being the house with a bankroll, how do you calculate what the maximum profit a user can make in a single bet via the Kelly Criteria?

Also do all casino/dice sites use this?

Please only comment if you know for sure.

Thanks

36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ops moments on: July 11, 2016, 11:40:07 AM
When you have been pimping as long as me you have many ooops moments, you also have many yiiiihaaa moments, I tend to remember the latter. My biggest loss is $700 on slots and I will never do that again.
37  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: July 09, 2016, 04:23:00 PM
If I was in desperate need for a close family member then there is not much I would not do. If I was in need then I would just keep on working my day/night job on the streets.
