21  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto X Change - No Bank Fees! Deposit & Withdraw of Any Currency $5 on: January 22, 2012, 01:44:49 PM
Hi,
How exactly can you guarantee your bank accounts don't get frozen?
If you compare to mtgox, why do you guys not have trouble with banks? Will it come when you get bigger?

I am thinking about transfering some off my btc over to cryptoXchange from mtgox, mainly to spread out the risk abit.

Thanks  Smiley

MtGox bank accounts get frozen because MtGox is not run by a registered money service business. Cryptoxchange however, is.

So you're saying that as long as a company is a registered MSB, they don't freeze accounts/have their accounts frozen?!

Also, before saying that others are not doing the paperwork the states they're in require of them, you should do a little more research.

Why do you suddenly have a Russian accent when you were perfectly able to speak English before?

Are you a Russian hacker writing from a hacked account?
No it's weekend night and Im not the most sober

edit: ran it thorough word and fixed a lot of it

Awesome.  I want my exchange operator trying to do business while drunk.  Where can I sign up?

I'm pretty sure that's true for all of them, especially mtgox.
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Effect of scams, hacks and other scandals on price on: October 09, 2011, 01:18:52 AM
Price will fall as the cat is out of the bag. Satoshi = ArtForz = kano = lolcust = BitcoinExpress = MtGox = SAC which are one and the same person or a group of Japanese scammers / hackers who got us screwed with this scheme. Enjoy holding the bag after <$1 prices ! There is only one route from here and that is DOWN.

Dude I buy them all the time in PA, they sell them at my local beer distributor O.o;

Yeah, dude, those are the new ones, not the old ones.
26  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Paying TOP DOLLAR for BTC--$18 per BTC, WTB 20 BTC (PayPal, Dwolla, money order) on: July 08, 2011, 12:04:51 AM
I had deposited $400 into my MtGox account to buy some coins and then someone hacked into my account and transferred the money into his Dwolla account. So now I am only going to do P2P.

Really? Is that the best you could come up with? Try harder, scammer.

Google "Researchers find malware rigged with Bitcoin miner"

Not related directly with this particular scam, I guess. But if could also be the first steps in information warfare to discredit BTC.

How the hell can you watch that shit?
What specific part of the video triggered your emotional reaction?
A reaction against encouraging anyone to watching a video by some ignorant fuck reading his screencapped emails “exposing” the “journalistic hitman” ex post facto is completely rational. There is nothing emotional about it.

IT HAS A JAVA EXPLOIT THAT WILL PAWN YOU!

seriously, who lets Java run on strange websites?
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Full Disclosure] Live mtgox.com trade matching bug. on: June 28, 2011, 04:11:27 AM
After making yourself look like such an ass, you should really reconsider that.

By having MagicalTux confirm that one of the possibilities I explicitly posted was indeed the case? Not following you.

Just so you know this was disclosed to Tux at the same time it was posted. He considers it a problem and is working to fix it.

Hate me all you want.

I still believe that people not disclosing these issues to the public is what led to the last major compromise. Would you rather not be made aware of the issues and blindly assume that everything in the world of bitcoin is perfect?

Additionally. At jgarzik's request I wont be posting these to the bitcoin-dev list going forward. There is talk of a separate bitcoin-vendor-sec (or similarly named) list being created.

Erm, no it doesn't mean this.  If it's well designed, there is a semaphore or lock to prevent this.  No sense jumping to conclusions based on what is essentially little more than a display bug.
You're right, that should say possibly, not actually.

Um, maybe you missed something:

It will not execute, and I told you it'll be fixed in a couple of hours. Thanks for disclosing this before.

I don't hate you (and please don't mischaracterize what I say). Where is this purported acknowledgment that this was a vulnerability? From what I've seen you've completely overstated the case (and I'm not exactly MagicalTux's biggest fan right now). Yes, you just made yourself look like an ass.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Full Disclosure] Live mtgox.com trade matching bug. on: June 28, 2011, 03:39:30 AM
Please leave possible exploits away from the public.
In other words, keep it private.
Work with them behind closed doors.

No.

Funds are being checked before it is executed.

Which means there's actually a race condition to be exploited as well. Admittedly hard to take advantage of but it exists.

After making yourself look like such an ass, you should really reconsider that.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senator Charles Schumer Pushes to Shut Down Online Drug Marketplace on: June 07, 2011, 01:28:57 AM
This new libertarian standard of no-compromise total war is just too authoritarian for me.

What?!
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senator Charles Schumer Pushes to Shut Down Online Drug Marketplace on: June 07, 2011, 01:07:50 AM

Unfortunately, being taken seriously and setting policy that gets people shot are two different things in the states at this point.

Except that's not how legislatures work. Other people in the Senate have to take him seriously for him to get anything done. And they don't.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoin Lobbyist Firm to Represent Our Interests [Bounty: 2 BTC and growing] on: June 07, 2011, 01:05:06 AM
perhaps you should set up a Tor hidden service to coordinate this effort and to drive the statists crazy.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senator Charles Schumer Pushes to Shut Down Online Drug Marketplace on: June 06, 2011, 09:17:06 PM

Is it your intention to be racially offensive or what?

What? Have you missed every bit of media coverage of him since 2004?
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senator Charles Schumer Pushes to Shut Down Online Drug Marketplace on: June 06, 2011, 08:52:57 PM
.
Why he did not bothered with opiates farms in Afghanistan, that is under US control (if US did not lie about it, lol)  ?

Because he can't admit to such a thing while Chocolate Jesus is president.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senator Charles Schumer Pushes to Shut Down Online Drug Marketplace on: June 06, 2011, 08:42:16 PM
You guys are blowing this out of all proportion. Chuck Schumer is the biggest blowhard in the U.S. Senate. No one takes him seriously and he doesn't stay focused on much long. Bitcoin is not Four Loko, which had a major pressure point he could push on and he doesn't have the attention span to keep pressure on anything for very long. If you keep him focused on it, he will make a much bigger deal out of it and more of your tax dollars will be wasted (and not just U.S. taxes, b/c other governments will cooperate on this).

tl;dr Just ignore him and he'll go away (unless he keeps getting drawn back by more Gawker bullshit).
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US dollar is the people's currency. Not Bitcoin! on: June 06, 2011, 08:31:12 PM
the people's currency in the same sense as people use the term “people's democratic republic?”

40  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: set gribble to respond it PM to all messages in #bitcoin-otc? on: May 15, 2011, 05:29:13 AM
Two points:

If anything, have Gribble suggest PMing instead but how many times have new people come in and not understood the process of authenticating until someone demonstrates it? How often is everyone checking ;;bc,mtgox all at once? Perhaps limit calls in-channel based on activity, but I don't ending them is the answer.

Also, if gribble replies in PM to messages posted in-channel, people that are too lazy to PM gribble are still going to post their commands in-channel and you'll have more people doing it at once. Instead of replying to in-channel commands in PM, it would be better if gribble enforced PMing only for commands it responds to in PM. Replying with "PM me" instead of executing the appropriate command is, I think, the next necessary step if Gribble goes that route.
