If it's a long term investment then LISK is what you are looking for. Their aim is to create sidechains using  a widely popular language (javascript) and they have massive funds to make it happen. However, they are a slow team so it will have to be a long term investment.

When you look at the total supply of grin, I'd say it is not a good investment. In fact it is not designed to even be an investment but more of a project to see if the technology actually works. Anyone buying must be doing so to support the project rather than make money

It is more of the brand name that will drive bittorrent forward as well as TRON. Everyone has heard of bittorrent but tron is not a mainstream name yet, Justin Sun is a good marketer and probably knew that acquiring BT will propel Tron into the top 10 and make it stay there

Tron is pumping now due to the bittorrent takeover. It is the most likely to be a real competitor to ethereum out of EOS and Cardano and NEO. The others on the list are nowhere near what ethereum is so they can be removed from the list

If you live in a city then you can do a meet up with someone who wishes to do direct trade. This way you don't need an escrow that charges a percentage of the fees. I wouldn't do any trade on bitcointalk without an escrow even if it's free of trade prices

Ripple will pump again but it is unlikely to copy what it done before with those insane 1000% gains. Also there is competition from Stellar which is also worth investing in. They partnered with IBM so they might even overtake ripple if it goes mainstream

When the developers disappear and the source code is closed, that is the start of a dead coin. However, it is up to the community to keep it alive. If all the buyers step away and the exchanges stop trading it, then you can consider it dead

I guess the OP is not following the latest developments with the lightning network. Bitcoin is slow when over used and is not capable as it is for daily supermarket use, unless there are prepaid bitcoin cards. However, lightning will change all of that so it is better to buy now when it's cheap rather than when everyone is going crazy for it

This makes unbankable third world countries bankable using their phones rather than computers. High potential when it really gets going

Monero is the peoples choice here, even though zcash and xspec have better technology they are not as well respected as monero. It has all the qualities you need to a privacy coin, and is widely used in the dark markets. Not something to be proud of, but it shows that it works
