I thought you might be interested to know that Bitfury are doing a sample chip program for developers

202  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bitfury is looking for alpha-testers of first chips! FREE MONEY HERE! on: June 27, 2013, 11:25:29 PM
Fantastic news. So you are looking for mass production of low cost miners.

That's good for competition, and good for Bitcoin.

I like where this is heading.

Let's get these things to Bkk and Burnin! (assuming they have any energy and willpower left after their current projects)

This constant attack sucks, especially for you Doc

I hope you can make it more hassle than its worth, to make them give up whatever childish vendetta they have against you.

206  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL creates new charity project to donate 1000 BTC to [ROFL!] on: June 07, 2013, 01:14:16 AM
Why not donate a coin or two? To the "More hookers for Sonny & Josh" charity fund:

Finally! someone commenting not on where the 100btc is going, but the fact that BFL are ASKING FOR DONATIONS! That's the real WTF.
They actually managed to twist the words "we will donate" all the way around into "please donate to us"
207  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: 120Gh ASIC for 18,2-23,5 BTC shipping, hosting, group buy! on: June 06, 2013, 05:37:39 AM
Woohoo!!! now the waiting begins... I hate this part....

So escrow or not? do you want us to vote or something? my vote is: either
209  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Announces Bulk Chip Sales on: June 04, 2013, 04:16:56 AM
So they've pissed away all their pre-order money with the assumption that it'd keep on rolling in, so now that avalon has taken their market they've made a half-assed panic offer in response.

Sad! they don't deserve a single chip order! and wouldn't even need to offer it had they just started delivering some decent quantities of product.
210  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Metabank-Bitfury 120Gh Asic for 2784$ international shipping or hosting on: June 04, 2013, 03:50:54 AM
I'm unclear as to the size of 1 unit.
Their total price divided by $18 would equate to 120 Gh/s, is that correct?
Since the pricing is by hashing per second, are there different sized units?
211  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 5: 4794 ASICs gone 44794 sold on: June 04, 2013, 03:16:40 AM
I suspect we'll see another round of buying once the sample chips are in the developers hands and confirmed working
212  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: June 03, 2013, 04:16:42 AM
Personally, I'd opt for a simple solution. The more features, like overvolting, the more things that can break. Especially with overvolting one could permanently damage you chips. If such a feature would be implemented, it should have a very narrow range.

Dammit! At least I got a little bit into batch 1, hopefully batch 2 doesn't end up too far behind batch 1 Smiley

Maybe you guys can start another post to discuss your speculation on burnin's intentions.  I'd like to keep this one free for project updates.

219  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 490,000 Avalon chips already ordered - 150T hashrate spike coming in August on: May 10, 2013, 11:33:10 AM
I understand why people are predicting consolidation of miners. The very fact that chips are priced in BTC is aggravating that monopoly (rich get richer scenario)

I don't disagree that many will quit mining, but I do disagree that hobby and general "normal" people mining will die. It won't

Why wouldn't a person have a few units stacked up in his shed, wired up to a solar panel, churning out a few blocks? it's the bitcoin equivalent of a savings account, it won't make the person rich and they understand that, but it's extra coin they wouldn't have otherwise. Not every miner is an enterpriser.
220  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner [Post if interested] on: May 10, 2013, 01:53:17 AM
This is a great idea! I wouldn't mind a few of these

Will be watching this space
