When setting up the escrow you can choose unreleased coins to be released to specific charities instead of being sent back.
202  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help with BTCGuild Rainmeter script on: June 08, 2011, 09:52:28 PM
I have one for BTCGuild as well if you ever switch pools.  It also show real time stale % from each miner and an estimated worth of your current balance at BTCGuild.

The source is just as messy and unmaintainable as my first one.  Lol

Edit:  Slush modified the API data a bit, so that original script might tend to show lots of blank results and leave tons of errors in your log.  Here is a modified one with a few more fun things incorporated.

203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Market Tumbles down to 18.00. Mtgox seem to be shut down. on: June 08, 2011, 09:44:06 PM
https://mtgox.com/code/data/getTrades.php

Take those dates, those are in unix epoch time I'm assuming.  The most recent one corresponds to Monday.

I have no idea what is going on, and am personally getting a bit worried.  I think I'm going to turn off the computer, stop chart watching, and check back tomorrow.  I'll either be rich or broke.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Market Tumbles down to 18.00. Mtgox seem to be shut down. on: June 08, 2011, 09:29:58 PM
Yeah, something huge is going on.  Massive selloff.  MtGox all but down.  Unable to buy/sell using site.  Transfers of funds being held up.

Hold on to your asses
205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Another trade is still in progress, please retry in a few seconds on: June 08, 2011, 09:18:53 PM
This all smells like yesterdays garbage.

Now I can't view my trade history because of a database error.  Something big is happening, from recent people not being able to withdraw their funds and now the site coming to a standstill.

If I wasn't in for such a pittance I'd be shitting myself right now.
206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Another trade is still in progress, please retry in a few seconds on: June 08, 2011, 08:58:56 PM
Not good.  Been getting this error for about 15 minutes now.  This could cause a massive selloff if people lose faith in Mt Gox servers.

I have been unable to buy bitcoins for 15 minutes.  If this is a site wide problem this could be the reason for the very low amounts of bids right now.
207  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5850 Exteme, do i have to OC it? Running @ 150Mhash/s on: June 08, 2011, 07:45:28 PM
Which miner, which flags, which driver, which SDK?

The golden settings for a 5850 are usually 10.11 driver, 2.1 SDK, phoenix miner, VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=13 FASTLOOP=false WORKSIZE=256

use phatk if you are on newest drivers, poclbm if on 2.1

Aggression can be dialed down if you use the computer for anything else.  Worksize should be tested at 128 and 256.

Get afterburner and bring your memory down to 300MHz

Edit:  If you are using guiminer try -v -w128 in the extra flags

Edit 2:  I would recommend running Driver Sweeper, then reinstalling the newest drivers, but only the driver and the sdk.  Don't install CCC or overdrive or any of the extras.
208  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Can you still get scammed via clearcoin? on: June 08, 2011, 06:12:51 PM
Yes, but there is a also a release to charity option.  The problem with that option is it hurts the seller if the buyer doesn't come through.  The safest way would be to have a 3rd party trusted arbitrator (long time forum member or somebody who has so many bitcoins they won't bother to steal yours.)  who would be in charge of releasing the coins.  They would charge an escrow fee of say 1% and if there is a problem, they'd ask for evidence from buyer and seller.  There ruling would be final.
209  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more [~600 gH/sec] on: June 08, 2011, 09:43:08 AM
My payout was almost double my estimated and I came in late on the round (switched to slush during the recent network timeouts to reduce load), so yes, the estimated being reported is incorrect and looks to be because the shares count is off.

I'd guess everything will be peachy in a week after the servers get load balanced properly and bugs are squashed.
210  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more [~600 gH/sec] on: June 08, 2011, 08:51:04 AM
I'll just assume it's a website error until I actually get paid the much lower estimate.

This is by far my favorite pool, very fair methods, pay me now, and payouts on invalids if I choose.  Would hate for something to be seriously wrong and have a massive ship jump to the pool that shall remain nameless.

Do I need the molex connector for a 5850?

212  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make some easy bitcoin at forbitcoin.com with this job on: June 08, 2011, 07:33:12 AM
As you can tell by my current sig I would never whore myself out!
213  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Monitor multiple pools - www.btc-poolwatch.com on: June 08, 2011, 07:30:58 AM
Can you add Slush's pool please?   Grin

Will do. Slush pool was one of the earlier ones I tried, but hit a problem. It's probably me.

Pls chk back again in 48 hrs. Smiley

The API changed right as I was working on a monitoring plugin for rainmeter, and sometimes returns results in differing format/order.  Not 100% sure what is going on with that.  It would display fine 9/10 times, then error out, then fix itself on a refresh.  After I took out a few things form my regexp it stopped erroring out, but now I can't pull all the relevant data.  I'm sure somebody smarter than me can figure it out though.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Have 2nd, older, video card can I use? on: June 08, 2011, 03:11:25 AM
It would be fine.  Just remember (on Windows), you'll need a dummy plug, or need to switch which card your monitor is hooked up to to start mining on your second card.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Suicide? on: June 08, 2011, 01:34:05 AM
Yeah, btc multiplied about 5X for me.. there are prolly people hearing about it today who will one day die a miserable self-loathing death because of that knowledge  Sad

maybe we should just call the whole thing off  Cheesy

I'm more interested in how many will commit suicide if the price crashes.  There are people who have some serious money in to the market and a big drop could push some people over the edge.

217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Suicide? on: June 08, 2011, 01:21:16 AM
I heard about it around October of last year... I laughed at the person who told me about it.  I didn't kill myself, but I was a little upset.
218  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FOR SALE: PCIe x1 & x16 Extender Cables, Mining Chassis & GPU Dummy Plugs on: June 07, 2011, 09:09:03 AM
Got a x1 extender cable and dummy plug.  Works great!
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Video cards trading off? on: June 07, 2011, 08:57:46 AM
Which miner?  You have to specify which GPU to use.

For example, in phoenix it's DEVICE=0 or DEVICE=1

Come on guys, you can't get in on the Pyramid scheme if you never send in your coin to start!
