I can't start mining in my wallet to start with a local demon, how do I turn it on to this local demon?

Wait for full sync first. After it finishes you should be able to start mining.
Tip: mining via wallet has very poor performance. Try mining via some of the pools
on the first page of this thread.

If you have 150 Mh/s on Android I would like to know which phone/device you're using: mine does around 150 h/s... Wink

I am here to learn and therefore throwing some bones, thanks for the input so far, but I want more...
If the project stays strong and GPU punishment is enough to let CPU and IoT rule the network, it's only a matter of waiting for the right amount of IoT's to
support the network. Then the moment arrives to start punishing CPU's to get the network run only by IoT devices. This will take years to accomplish but
in my opinion is doable for uPlexa as a first mover. Don't forget the processing power and the algorithms will evolve as well during this timeframe.
In my head it sounds simple, but it probably isn't... fire away...!

Yes, I think you're saying something reasonable. That's how I imagine it. The one issue I have is, in the years it takes to accomplish the IoT network, the GPU miners (myself included) will have built up some big bags of UPX. So what's the problem? Well, if the project punishes GPU miners a bit, then those GPU miners will have to move onto other coins. Most likely they will start dumping their UPX, and because of the large bags they have, it will keep UPX price down for years with all the selling pressure. Maybe investors come in to buy up the coin, but in terms of strengthening the network, it's going to be hard to go from GPU hashpower down to IoT/phone  hashpower. I only mention this because I've seen a number of CPU coins that get stomped once the GPU miners come in.

Now wouldn't it be cool if we could get 100Mh/s on android. Smiley

And yeah, fruityminer hasn't released the update yet. Maybe if they don't our discussion about GPU will be over. Smiley

Personally i don't think GPU mining will ever be shut down, not only because it's still the most affordable high-hashrate form of mining (FPGA and ASICs are still crazy money) it's also the "bread and butter" for all miners. Coins like UPX make it possible to use smaller older GPU's you wouldn't dream of using on anything else. so i believe there is still a place for GPU's in all forms.
Granted UPX's primary platform is and should remain CPU,IoT and mobile tech but with out the hashrate of GPU's supporting the network we couldn't possibly expect the coin to grow or remain stable... Sure there are people out there using server CPU's and cranking out 7kh+ with them but not everyone has access to such hardware. There are of course the more powerful multi cored PC CPU's but they aren't affordable either. so in that regard there really isn't anything out there more affordable then GPU's.

Yes, GPU mining is efficient. What's good for GPUs is always bad for CPUs. And what's good for CPUs is probably bad for IoT. We can note that GPU's hashpower is good for the network, but this project is about IoT, and nobody has been able to explain to me how we're going to transtion from GPUs putting out multiple kh/s to IoT devices that are going to trickle in hashpower. I don't see how to make the transition.

You say UPX primary platform is CPU. Then why dos the official site hand out GPU miners. In my experience it's foolish to try and use CPU (or even something less powerful) to compete against GPUs. And I don't see how just letting it unfold naturally is going to allow IoT to work.  Sure, not everyone has GPUs or serve-grade CPUs, but if enough do, it can really crowd out the individual CPU miners.

Not trying to be a pain, it's just almost every CPU coin I've seen has run into serious trouble by letting GPUs in. It's getting really difficult to find a CPU-only coin that can succeed.

CPU is most universal calculating device. So IoT is best on CPU as it will work on all sorts of devices. Uplexa upx2 algo is not trying to run away from Gpus, it just makes them equal to CPUs, so they cannot overpower IoT devices. Waiting for the fork tonight Smiley
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥⛏️ [MAINNET] [UPX] uPlexa ⚡️ Anonymity and eCommerce via IoT on: April 25, 2019, 01:28:29 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the new algo is suited more towards
low powered devices and CPUs. GPUs should hash equally or worse
compared to decent CPUs. As far as I can see memory will be
even less and only the number of cores will matter.
Any real-world observations/benchmarks so far?

Lost wallet password so restored from seed using Windows GUI. Synced local node but balance empty... rescanned wallet. No joy.

Seems like all my addresses are not showing up, only address #0...

Any idea what I may doing wrong?

Id like to learn more about the partnership as well, as for the MN subject I'm pretty sure the devs have that in the bag.

We still don't know the details iisbetoq. There is only a a news, saying "utility masternodes" are coming.
A certain amount of UPX will be needed to run such masternode, that is for sure.
My personal "guess" is somewhere around 1-2 million UPX.
Or it might be some other, more clever method for staking (Tiered, timed, etc.).

I agree with RyanDokter and I think more important now is the practical use of the uPlexa coin tech.
There are many coins which... just exist.
For no apparent reason, hoping that someone will make use of their tech, just like that.
So partnerships are very important, because they ensure real-world use and this equals growth.

Same here, screenshot from a mined block but no reward on wallet at after several hours and refreshes.

Is there any specific mechanism to receive block rewards?
Otherwise we mine for another person's wallet and is a total scam!!!

I had the same problem. I mined for more than 18 hours offchain. In other words, I was mining on my own chain for some reason.
After I downloaded the bootstrap .raw file and extracted it, then restarted the miner and it synced to the correct chain.
However 18 hours of electricity waste was just.. waste.

command to import:
solo-blockchain-import --verify=0 --input-file=blockchain.raw       add this only if you changed the default data directory>  --data-dir

then start miner

Here you can check if your version/ blockheight matches with network: http://explorer.minesolo.com/

Anyone else receiving an error about incompatible version 1.0.3.4 despite having download and install the latest Windows binaries 1.0.3.6?

It results into an IP ban for more than an hour after 5-10 minutes of usage, while the CPU hashrate keeps mining at full speed as usual.

I am receiving those message too...some nodes are not yet upgraded...

I have a question ....I entered "start_mining" without address from the daemon and find two blocks..... is the mining rewards go to my address? I have checked no coins received yet

How do you check you wallet if you have no address yet?

You know, the $15 per month electricity bill is the problem of parents who bought you gaming PC.
While $2.5 for VPS is your problem... Wink

Well, you can put it this way too Cheesy Cheesy. but if $2.5/month is a problem for you,
then crypto might not be the best place to spend your time.

@RyanDokter
I've seen people running masternodes on a Raspberry Pie,
but this all depends how much RAM/CPU the Uplexa utility node will require
to run smoothly.
There is one more thing - we still don't know how profitable it would be
to run a MN. Some other coins' masternodes cannot even cover the expense for VPS.

I really liked the idea for a mobile phone, running as a Utility node.
However I don't know if it can run it 24/7 without overheating.
Other than that it would be perfect:
1. low power usage
2. Multi core CPU
3. small size

The only downside would be that it only has Wi-fi, no Ethernet,
which adds a few ms of lag.

Wouldn't one of the downsides be that those phones wouldn't have a static IP? It's one of the main requirements for masternodes usually, so unless the devs find an innovative way of handling utility nodes(aka masternodes), it don't see how phone nodes could happen.

We'll see what happens they're preparing for us, exciting times to come for sure!

Phones will run on WiFi, which can be static.
So having a mobile phone running a node, can be pretty doable.
Let's see what Devs can add to this.

Soon uPlexa coin will fork to a even more CPU friendly CN algo, which allows
mobile and low powered devices such as mobile phones to mine faster.

Another coin I found recently is Solo coin - pure solo CPU mining.
Like in the old days Smiley

Running a node on a home PC is not recommended in any crypto coin.
Example: you will have to pay for electricity for another PC, running 24/7 ($10-15 per month)
You will have to maintain it 24/7 (dust, parts replacement, etc.)
It will produce heat and noise and take up space.

Even if all this is not a problem for you, renting a virtual machine for
a masternode costs only about $2,50 - $10 a month, depending on requirements.
You can check prices and major providers: Digital Ocean, VirMach, Vultr

That way you will have less interruptions and higher profit,
since uptime and connectivity are critical for MN.
and Datacenter's internet and power are all redundant.

Noob question, how are masternodes in comparison to utility nodes, can you use both? Is there a difference in specs regarding being able to run either one?
I have an i7 4770 8gb, would that be good enough? I am willing to participate, but don't have the intention to weaken the network.

Why this rise recently? The price was tripled in a week or so. What was the reason for that?

The reason is upcomming PoW algo change. Everyone is trying to pull more coins before it kicks in.
Then roadmap updates which show that everything is on track and team works very good.
Third - many IoT miners start appearing here and there.
Fourth - Announcement for upcoming utility Masternodes later this year.
Fifth - many new folks heard about this coin thanks to the active Discord team.
Sixth - Stex is now the primary exchange which attracts traders.

Here is the latest news from devs:

"We have scheduled a PoW hardfork for Tuesday, April 29th (or block 162,090). The hardfork will require you to update your wallets, miners, and pools to the latest version. Wallet versions 2.1.0 will be released early next week (22nd-23rd). The code has been updated at our github repository for any and all pool operators & miner developers to take a look at.
This PoW Hardfork will allow for an even more profitable experience for IoT devices whilst simultaneously helping the network defend against FPGA & ASIC miners. Hashrates for all miners will increase dramatically,(sorry neqinox), even more so for lower end devices.
What has been done in this hardfork?
* Upgraded base PoW algorithm to CNv8 from CNv7
* Reverse shuffle operators
* 128KB Memory
* 32,768 Iterations
How to prepare for the hardfork:
* Announcements will be made via Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Telegram, and Discord next week regarding which miners are ready for the upcoming hardfork. Once the announcements have been made, update your mining software to those supporting the hardfork (Currently XMRig-UPX, FruityMiner, and UPX Android miner).
* Update your GUI, command-line, and/or Android wallets sometime between the 24th-29th of April"

18Mh/s in just one week! That is 3 times the hashrate uPlexa had a few weeks ago.
Too bad I don't have the time to do some trading Sad

The cool part is that what uPlexa achieved in 6 months took other coins
several years. So the progress is very solid so far.
Waiting for the eventual fork Smiley
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥⛏️ [MAINNET] [UPX] uPlexa ⚡️ Anonymity and eCommerce via IoT on: April 13, 2019, 01:06:49 PM
From Core Team Today:

Utility nodes will exist on the uPlexa network this year. Utility nodes will provide the gateway to instant transactions, remove the chance of any 51% attack, help power DApps, and will be the exit nodes for our privacy network. However, PoW via IoT will continue to be the backbone of the uPlexa network. More information regarding our PoS/PoW split will come after the PoW upgrade.

Details & code for the PoW upgrade have been delayed until Tuesday, April 16th.

PoW hardfork will be scheduled for sometime between the 27th-30th.

MegaBounties will continue to be reviewed over the weekend.

Website: https://uplexa.com
Medium: https://medium.com/@uplexa

So Harj, some form of nodes will be still needed Sad
I hope Devs wil think this over very very good.
If mining is threatened, then a lot of people will leave.
So far all Dev decisions were very logical and well defined.

As a result, hashrate is steadily rising, it's 11Mh/s today.
If we add some MNs network will be lightning fast.

In the meantime, price went up to 82 sats.
