201  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - innovative professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service on: April 10, 2014, 12:26:37 AM
Read my previous big post. This will be changed in following days with ability to specify your own pool diff in password when connecting to stratum, additionally, there will be longer job window, which will allow certain types of stales still being submitted and paid for.

damn you... you made me read Smiley))))))

yeah, those last couple of paragraphs describe the fix for my problem...

once the fix is implemented - i'll gladly come back Smiley

i just love the "no contract" nature of this service... if i was to rent my rig through betarigs or similar, i would be "in contract" for an x amount of hash for an x amount of hours...

with this service, i can hop on and off whenever i feel like... this means that if suddenly a coin i'm watching jumps up in profitability, i can quickly jump off to mine it without breaking that contract... i absolutely love this type of flexibility...

202  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - innovative professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service on: April 09, 2014, 11:51:01 PM
i've been trying your service for the last few hours... there are a lot of things that i like, but one thing that i dislike, and that one thing is probably going to end up being the "fatal flaw" that will keep me from coming back...

it seems that whoever is renting all this hash is mining a very low diff coin... the status on my sgminer shows something around 30k diff, which if i'm not mistaken is well below 1...

they also seem to be mining it in a pool that assigns my rigs a vardiff of above 1k... that's actually great for when a higher diff coin is being mined, but for these type of low diff coins it's terrible... the combination of high vardiff, low coin diff, and high hashrate pointing at the coin means that my rigs barely get a chance to submit shares... all i see on my screen is "new block found" and "requesting restart"... every once in a while one of the 5 gpu's manages to squeeze in one or two "accepted", but then it's right back to line after line of "block found"...

this is not a new phenomena, and happens often with newer coins where the diff is still extremely low, but the hash rate is high... i have experienced this in a number of pools before, and to remedy the problem the pool admins usually tweak the vardiff to assign lower pool diff... in fact, when i look for newer coins with low diff, i specifically look to mine them in a pool where the admin understands this problem, and adjusts the vardiff accordingly...

in the end this combination of massive hash, high vardiff and low diff coins is chocking my hash... my gpu's simply do not have a chance to submit work before the next block is found, and as a result my overall hashrate suffers tremendously... and i'm not using the word tremendously lightly here... i am yet to mine at a pool where my overall hash is not over 11+mh... while monitoring the stats page on nicehash, i rarely saw it hit anywhere near that number... most of the time the stats were showing me doing between 6-8mh... from 11 to 6 is not a "minor" drop by any means... i am way too lazy to do math right now, but it's easily a third of my total hash rate that has suddenly gone "poof"...

losing a third of my possible hash would be ok, in a weird way, if i had something misconfigured on my end etc... but it has nothing to do with my end... as i already mentioned, i have ran into this problem before and have done a lot of research and tweaked a gazillion and one settings to see if it would help...  i've adjusted everything from tc to intensity, tried different raw and xinensity values - all with the same result...  the only thing that made a difference was when the pool admin would adjust the vardiff from climbing too high...

i often rent rigs from betarigs when i need a bit of extra hashpower, and as a renter i would absolutely love your service... but as someone who's renting out the hashpower, losing a third of it simply because someone decided to point a shitload of hash at an infant coin in a pool run by an unknolwedgeable admin makes no sense to me... like i said it's the "fatal flaw" that may keep me from coming back...
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Compare profitability: Scrypt Scrypt-N multipool, Vertcoin, Doge Litecoin P2Pool on: April 09, 2014, 02:04:33 AM
Hmmm.... Anyone else seeing the GHash.io Multipool beta message with Cyrillic?
It says: Pool fee is 0% ! Честно кормлю кота, поливаю кактус

Which means in Russian: Pool fee is 0%! Honestly I feed the cat, water the cactus

Is this a sign that they just got compromised by Russian hackers using the Heartbleed OpenSSL exploit???

i think all it means is that they have a bored russian developer with a quirky sense of humor Smiley
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Compare profitability: Scrypt Scrypt-N multipool, Vertcoin, Doge Litecoin P2Pool on: April 09, 2014, 02:02:21 AM
i see you tried TMB's scrypt N multi... have you tried the regular scrypt multi yet ?

a couple of months back i did a test similar to yours, though not nearly as thorough or "scientific"... basically i have a couple of rigs that are completely identical... same mobos, cpu's and ram, and same exact number/brand of cards attached with the same exact risers etc, etc, etc... basically, the two rigs are identical in every way...

i couldn't do all the pools at once, since i only have those two rigs, so i did two at a time for a few days at a time, and then compared results... like i said - not very scientific...

in my testing, the TMB multi consistently brought in better returns then any other multipool i tried, often by a long shot... i was so happy with the results, that i settled on TMB and have been with them since, never looking back...

TMB also has some other advantages that often do not necessarily reflect in stats... the pool owner/operator purposely limits the number of signups, this keeps the hash rate under control... this allows him to provide a more "boutique" and personal customer service, and allows the pool to dip into smaller coins that would be absolutely destroyed by the 20+mh that something like clever or waffle bring... plus, they do a great job of finding newer coins that are profitable, and not mined (and raped) by other multi's...

when the whole cryptorush fiasco happened, the pool owner instantly paid everyone out out of his own pocket without any hesitation - a class act...

take a look at them, if you haven't already... i'm curious to see how they compare to the rest... i know the n multi hasn't been doing great lately, but the scrypt multi has been solid, and i believe more profitable then the pools you have listed...
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MARKETS.CX - First Litecoin cloud mining platform - buy and sell KHS/LTC on: March 25, 2014, 01:48:19 PM
there are three theories that i saw floating about, and ones that at least kind of make sense are :

1.) this is a "fuck it" scam... someone starts off a business with good intentions, gives it their all, but eventually realizes that there is no way they can stay above water... eventually they give up, say "fuck it" and take every last cent they can with them on the way out...

2.) he's dead/arrested etc... the dev for markets.cx is based in urkraine, which is not exactly "stable" at the moment... chances of being rubbed out for owing money to the "wrong people", or just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time are high... ukraine is a bit lawless right now, so anything can happen...

3.) they got over their heads and got shut down by the govt... whether ukranian or chinese, no one knows... because they're shut down, they have no idea how to proceed or what to say, so they're silent...

again, just some theories i saw floating about... i don't believe any of them, but if i had to pick one - number 1 makes the most sense...

Hey Guys,
Been following this talk for a while, just a quick suggestion

Anyone that used the markets.cx website, should think about the password they used, if it is the same pass as you use on another account/website it would be advisable to change, wouldn't want these guys being able to cause more damage with you passwords (I know most site use 2FA, but better safe then sorry)

Right before I took all my LTC out, I changed my password to "gofuckkoff" .... it felt good.

Good for you Mike!  Although I'm really hoping its' just some big issue that they haven't been able to come online to tell people about.

SyncSAm...  That's a VERY good point.  I would also caution people to be aware of sites that exists to just harvest your e-mails and that it's a GREAT idea to use a completely different password for every account you log into online.  There's currently a huge number of brute force login attacks going on at wordpress sites, e-mail hosts and mining related sites.
Once a username/password is found they'll attack tons of places to find out where else you've used that username password and steal whatever they can.

BE AWARE!  BE SMART!  And remember... Don't MINE AND DRIVE!  The difficulty gets in your eyes. (J/K) Lol

Wild Wild West Peeps, keep an eye out!

Keep it Clean! Cheesy

you still have hope... my hope is gone Smiley

if this was just some extended technical problem, someone from markets.cx would've chimed in here by now... this long without any contact/updates, or even a quick note on their site that their under maintenance.... well, like i said - my hope is gone...

MarketsCX , and what problem do a couple of shots from the workspace? This requires some special technical capabilities? Just once it would remove a lot of questions about transparency. I, for one, is interested to invest, but still watching. I'm not the only one.
By the way, why not Russian version of the site?

In addition:
Who else looked site. No contact information other than the feedback form. No address, no phone, no showers chat. Just nothing. No information about the equipment. On that calculation?

Thanks for your questions. Problem, indeed, no - all we sell. At this point, the project only 10 days old, and already more than 700 new users during this time, only manage to add new gridsidy and fix minor bugs. Now the day after tomorrow "We roll" gigaheshi in trading, more urgently are implementing alternative Mining scrypt, run their pools. Volume of huge hope to end of next week already publish fotogayd our equipment.

If you look at the 1st and 2nd page of the thread I tried to warn everyone .. never trust a company with NO CONTACT INFORMATION  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

there is nothing to translate... it's the same exact thread as here, but in russian... zero new info...

No I was referring to my posts about not trusting this "business". I'm sorry to everyone that lost their LTC. But remember to do research on ANYTHING that involves your money.  Cry

sorry, replied to the same post twice...

this was meant for someone else Smiley

Hi, I'm currently using this service... invested a few LTC into it.

My only concern is that the company behind this has no contact information up (Address, email address, phone number, location of the mining pool... and so on). How do I know you all won't just turn off the servers and leave with my LTC? I wouldn't have a way to contact you about it.

And I did a whois on the domain... it's all private. What's going on? I'm just nervous about putting $100's into a company that doesn't trust it's customers enough to give them some REAL contact information.

Other than the "transparency" issue... I am having zero problems with the site. I just want to trust what I'm putting my money into.

Once again .... my kind request for contact information was ignored.

I have removed my LTC from this site and won't be using them. I suggest that others stay away also. To the OP... no need to reply about it now. I asked twice on here and once through a support ticket and got ZERO replies.

You aren't getting my money for running a half assed business. Goodbye.

this guy... whoever this guy is, i want him to come back in this thread and say - i told you so...

because, you know - he did Smiley

do they have a twitter, a blog, a forum, irc - anything where you can get some info on what's going on ?

Sincerely,

about 24 hours since the last update...

I just have hope that they will return... There is always hope. Smiley

If I have lost my KHS and LTC then so be it.. I didn't have that much invested because I am mainly invested in cex.io.

If it is a scam then i will be sad because it was in principal a great idea...

i'm pretty sure you are not the only one hoping that they return... i doubt there is someone going "i hope they took my money and ran" Smiley
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MARKETS.CX - First Litecoin cloud mining platform - buy and sell KHS/LTC on: March 21, 2014, 03:24:18 PM

the cached page I see is very old...  before they added the GHS section and quote is at 0,024

This long silent from web site owners is starting to be a little suspicious...

I had a live version of the GHS sale.

While empty for a long time, at some point there came in an Ask price at 0.0125 BTC.
So a tad higher than cex which is/was at 0.0119 or so.

It crashed shortly after that.

I had 1023 khashes Sad

But this situation doesn't make sense.

- That site was way too well written. Too many features and so few bugs (any?).
- I had contact with support before outage, good response time.
- Site was always super fast, had CloudFlare
- Adding more features and then leave that moneymaking machine in a hurry? They could have waited for a long time to suck in more btc and ltc.

The questions are:

- Did anyone withdraw any significant LTC from there? Success?
- Do we know anything about LTC wallet addresses and movements, does anyone have Litecoin block search skills ?

I guess similar  thing happened few days ago and everything resumed to be normal. Wonder how many days will it take this time!

how long were they down last time ?

meaning, is this "normal" for them to go offline and silent for long periods of time ?
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MARKETS.CX - First Litecoin cloud mining platform - buy and sell KHS/LTC on: March 21, 2014, 01:23:20 PM
Having been scammed before.. this feels familiar.. but certain things are not
a) Right before the site I got scammed on went AWOL they "upped the ante" and started offering services/prices that were way too good to be true - Markets.cx has not done this
b) The other site didnt take the time and effort to use cloudflare
c) The site has had LOTS of work... way more than the other site I got scammed by.. if it is a scam they invested heavily into it.. far more than I would have
d) They did announce an upgrade prior (not well.. but they did announce it) whereas the other site just turned off

So with that in mind.. I'm thinking its about 50/50...scam vs unforseen tech problems

Personally I'm worried... but I'll give them another 24 hours before I start crying and lose my faith in humanity completely

i am also 50/50 right now...

the one thing that doesn't make it seem like a total scam is the fact that someone from there actually chimed in here and said that they're having problems and working on it etc..

if this was a scam, that step of coming here is just not necessary... there would be nothing to gain from it, since all the money would be already gone poof...

still, though... loooooooong, uncomfortable silence from these guys...
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MARKETS.CX - First Litecoin cloud mining platform - buy and sell KHS/LTC on: March 21, 2014, 01:10:57 PM
so, what's the "gut feeling" so far - scam, or massive outage ?
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MARKETS.CX - First Litecoin cloud mining platform - buy and sell KHS/LTC on: March 21, 2014, 12:53:25 PM
according to google, it's 8:45 pm in china now...

the site has been down for about 12 hours (at least) which means the majority of the outage happened throughout the work/business day...

the fact that there is not even a placeholder on the site that says "sorry, down for maintenance". or any other indication that they're actually working on something is just unforgivable from a PR standpoint...

even if this doesn't end up being a scam (seems more and more unlikely with every hour) and the site comes back in full force, i will be hesitant to send any more money there, and would not be able to take it seriously as an investment type of platform...

in other words, and pay attention market.cx people, all it take is one day of silence to have your customers lose confidence in you...   that is of course, if we are still indeed customers and not suckers/victims/bagholders...
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MARKETS.CX - First Litecoin cloud mining platform - buy and sell KHS/LTC on: March 21, 2014, 12:01:44 PM
it's not the outage that worries me... it's the silence that worries me...
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MARKETS.CX - First Litecoin cloud mining platform - buy and sell KHS/LTC on: March 21, 2014, 11:22:46 AM
the more time goes by, the longer the site is down, the more i keep thinking - so long money, it's been nice barely knowing you...

had such great promise... would really suck if this was a scam... and yeah, this much silence for this long doesn't exactly "inspire confidence" in the place...
