201  Other / Off-topic / Re: your view on homosexuality on: August 31, 2011, 03:29:10 AM
Homosexuality is a pain in the ass.  Cheesy

Seriously speaking, I have absolutely zero issues with anyone being gay, bi, straight or whatever. Live and let live.
202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt Gox BTC withdrawal problem? on: August 31, 2011, 03:16:19 AM
How much are you trying to take out? If it is a really micro amount, I can see why MtGox might prevent it being removed. I've never withdrawn any less than 5BTC's from them myself.
203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trojan Wallet stealer be careful on: August 31, 2011, 03:11:33 AM
I would never trust my wallet.dat being contained on a Windows machine. Come to that, I also won't use any Android apps either for bitcoin purposes.

I've also had some friends who have been hit with the mining trojan that is doing the rounds at the moment. This is why a secured linix box (or even a VM) is a must when it comes to dealing with BTC's
204  Other / Off-topic / Re: The story of Bold Funding. on: August 31, 2011, 03:03:24 AM
Did you pay the fines that were levied in the civil court? And did you attempt to pay back the desperate people who lost money?

Or did you move to a different state while defaulting on your rent?
205  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is There Any PROOF the FBI was Contacted in Relation to Mybitcoin.com? on: August 31, 2011, 01:49:19 AM
Being a non-US resident, I suppose that it would be pointless myself contacting the FBI?

I didn't lose too many BTC's with mybitcoin, but I am willing to file a report if anyone thinks it is worthwhile.
206  Other / Meta / Re: SomethingAweful Idiots Invade forum on: August 31, 2011, 01:44:17 AM

(image shamelessly liberated from the SA thread)

So bbit, about your defending of the indefensible, how complicit are you with regards to Bruce's fraudulent activities?

[Edit] Someone else also regularly misspells SomethingAwful as SomethingAweful, that person being Bruce. Mods, is bbit coming from a Japanese ip address perchance at the moment?
207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bruce talked at all about the accusations of fraud against him? on: August 31, 2011, 01:39:36 AM
Bbit> You said that you were on an episode of the bitcoin show. Which episode was that, and what did you talk about?
208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bruce talked at all about the accusations of fraud against him? on: August 31, 2011, 01:24:54 AM

Oooooohhhhh the SA guys ( yes , your obviously SA member your turd ) have some come up with some stupid correlation once again!  WOW, you retards for real?

If SA was so tough why don't you guys post all your information about who you are so we can start passing out civil court notices for defamation/libel    be transparent and back up what your saying about members of this forum in court not on this board?

I am a member now, yes. I've just registered an account.

As for stupid correlations, I'm sorry, but you are deluded and very wrong. If you actually check the SA thread, you will find some water-tight correlations based on facts and evidence - either from Bruce, or the people he scammed, or from court records.

And defamation/libel is only defamation/libel if it is untrue. I registered using my real name and real email address by the way. I'm a 41 year old IT specialist btw. I notice that you are hiding behind anonymity.

I also notice that you didn't answer my question bbit. The lack of answers speaks volumes imho.

Do I need to watch the Bitcoin Show episode in question to find out who you are?
209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bruce talked at all about the accusations of fraud against him? on: August 31, 2011, 12:57:08 AM
I'm still jail-locked in this subforum. Could someone please post the bbit/onlyonetv connection in some of the other threads where he is defending Bruce?

Someone on SomethingAwful has screencapped the post in question:

I'm seriously going to be signing up to SA. It looks like an amazing place.
210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bruce talked at all about the accusations of fraud against him? on: August 31, 2011, 12:27:58 AM

I bet most of the people who think Bruce is Guilty are SA members ...I asked for raise of hands earlier and about the whole thread was all paid SA hitmen ...goal to destroy individuals and this forum.

[...]

So, my question to you is what have you got to lose by Bruce being exposed for the scammer and fraudster that he is? Are you complicit in his crimes?

You know, this is actually an excellent question and.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=20325.msg254396#msg254396

Oh wow, good find. This is a quote of the post in question:

Bbit!

So thank you for answering my question. So bbit, are you Ed or Manny?
211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bruce talked at all about the accusations of fraud against him? on: August 31, 2011, 12:12:28 AM

I think Bruce is guilty. The courts have ruled that he has been guilty of fraud, prostitution, speeding etc. The evidence is there for all to see.

I'm not from SomethingAwful, but I know enough about SA to point out that you calling them 'paid SA hitmen' is ludicrous. Somethingawful is a large and well known community that has been around for 11 years.

So, my question to you is what have you got to lose by Bruce being exposed for the scammer and fraudster that he is? Are you complicit in his crimes?

I'm off to register an account at SomethingAwful, and hopefully I can earn some money being a paid 'hitman' lol. I wonder if they pay their bounties in BTC.
212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bruce talked at all about the accusations of fraud against him? on: August 30, 2011, 11:55:46 PM

I've been following the recent stuff about Bruce, and I'm sorry, but you cannot ignore the evidence that can be directly linked back to Bruce.

[Edit] Stuff removed from the post. I might have got users mixed up Wink
213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 58XX vs 68xx cards on: August 30, 2011, 11:53:26 PM
With the huge demand for the 58xx series with regards to it's number crunching skills, do you think that they will come back into production? Or can you see GPU cards that are more geared towards such things as mining than actual graphics?
214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: August 29, 2011, 07:30:51 AM

All you have to do is give me a good reason why you shouldn't be considered a newbie anymore. The standards really aren't that high.

If you click my post history, you'll see the type of replies.

As for being a newbie, 9 months mining with 12x58xx cards and trading and making money on Mt:Gox doesn't count? I was actually really eager to join in on many discussions...

But fuckit. Seriously... good luck with your forum. I'll go elsewhere.
215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: August 29, 2011, 03:26:01 AM
Do any mods/admins even monitor this thread any more?  Huh
Yes, we do, but weekends are busy for most of us.

You have time to reply to threads, but not spend micro seconds clicking 'upgrade user'?

Before I created this account, I never realised that 90% of the active users were jailed in this subforum. I wonder how many people have simply given up contributing to this site due to your over-zealous and quite franky unnecessary silly moderating rules?

For the official forum of an open source project, you sure are making it a closed elitist circle-jerk.

I've clocked up 1 hour and 37 mins now. I doubt I will clock up that much more... though I will check to see if the account has been upgraded over the next couple of days.

Way to destroy a potentially really good community mods.  Huh
216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions on: August 28, 2011, 01:53:59 AM
Well, so far, I've clocked up 1 hour and 23 minutes reading the threads that I wanted to post in. I'm now starting to lose interest in this site... which is a shame, as I believe I have a lot to offer.

If the admins here had more mods, there would be no need for this plainly ridiculous system. In my 20 years online, I've never seen such a draconian system implemented on a forum.

But maybe the site owners really don't care? After all, they are using SMF 1.1.14 - which has been long since superseded. 1.1.14 has quite a few vulnerabilities. If the owners can be bothered to upgrade the site to the latest version of the forum software, then they probably don't give two hoots about the people who want to post here...

(I had 12 58xx's heating up my room for 9 months)

Which type of 58xx did you use???

12?!? you are kidding me Cheesy

4x5850's
8x5870's

I had a friend build them for me, so I can't remember the MB's used (I'm not that technical when it comes to hardware). But I had 4 motherboards populated with 3 cards each.

It was fun, hot and profitable while it lasted. lol
219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: August 27, 2011, 09:22:11 AM
While I can tolerate waiting the 4 hours of logged in time, it would be nice to be able to take part in discussions in other subforums.

I'm an ex miner (I had 12 58xx's heating up my room for 9 months) but sold them to a fellow miner a week or so ago (for a good price I might add). I still trade in BTC's, lost a few with the mybitcoin scam (yes, I think Tom is scamming everyone. Same scam as what happened in Eve Online imho).

tl;dr: not a spammer.
220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quiet Mining Rig? on: August 27, 2011, 02:06:22 AM
Do they still sell that non-conductive liquid coolant that was salvaged from the Cray super computers? I can't remember too much about it, but I knew someone who had a music studio PC that was immersed in this liquid. I know this stuff wasn't cheap, but it allowed for some heavy overclocking with zero noise.
