201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is finished - and not because of the price.... on: December 08, 2013, 07:26:29 PM
If every user who wants to run a small website gets DDoS'd into the ground, I don't think the internet will catch on.

FTFY

Safety in numbers, as time goes on, and bitcoin grows, this will become less and less of a problem.
Mind explaining why my home connection is currently under DDoS from an extortionist, then?

Because bitcoin is still small, and so any business is going to be vulnerable. But, there are also advantages to being the first to market. But, if you haven't got the balls for it then, yes, you should probably get out.
Read: HOME connection.

Then what the HECK has this to do with bitcoin?

I believe avatars are currently disabled for security reasons.
205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to Bitcoin value when block reward drops? on: December 06, 2013, 06:02:32 PM
The last time the block reward halved the price remained the same. But the number of transactions went though the roof as everybody wanted to have a transaction in those historic blocks.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: When are you going to cash out? on: December 06, 2013, 03:12:46 PM
If the price goes up, you can buy back without a loss -> loss in BTC count yes, but no loss in fiat. You just missed 5-10% profit!

The value of fiat diminishes and bitcoins value grows. So in the long run a bitcoin loss is more substantial that a fiat loss.
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you guys teach yourself to hold for a long period? on: December 06, 2013, 02:49:04 PM
In a growing market where the price rises more than it falls, the probable outcome of selling, is buying back in at a higher price.
208  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Computer Scientists Prove God Exists on: December 05, 2013, 09:28:52 PM
How'd you draw that conclusion?  There is universal truth, everything happened a certain way to make things how they are today.

How are these truths unified, if not through reality?

Also, how many, and what are, the universal truths according to Dank?
209  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Computer Scientists Prove God Exists on: December 05, 2013, 03:18:17 PM
Also, wait, wouldn't Santa be one of dank's gods, too?

According to Dank, we all have our own realities. If so, then there are no truths, and making assertions, as Dank continues to do, contradicts his premise.

How are you supposed to warn people about potential scams if your post gets moderated?

Make another thread, and click the 'Report to Moderator' button.

The likelihood of a potential victim seeing the other thread is small as this is a very active forum. A moderator will only act after some one has been scammed, or if the scam is so obvious that you wouldn't need to warn people about it anyway.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but did I miss something? When did the US govt accept/approve of Bitcoin?

Yogi, is there anything as far as when you move up between levels and what is granted at each one.

If you mean member groups then you can find more info here;

Take for instance, when can you add an avatar, when is there no wait between posts, and so on.

Not sure, I think avatars may have been temporarily disabled for security reasons.

You need to make at least one post before you can send PMs.

Dont start chasing the bubble, and panic buy, that whats going on right now.  Wait until all this buying panic stops. Might be in 1 week or 1 month. Just chill and dont pay any attention to it, cause it will drive you crazy.

Its better to gain nothing, then to lose alot.

This is all going to crumble down, collapsing and end very bad for alot of people who dont get out in time.

When people are panic buying, thats when you sell, and when people are panic selling, that's when you buy.

Wait until it crashes, and it will. Patience is the key my friend.

Do you have the bollocks to put your money where your mouth is?
220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now that we reached the moon, at what amount do we reach mars? on: November 27, 2013, 10:38:26 PM
10,000      =  Mars
100,000    =  Alpha Centauri
1,000,000  =  Andromeda

10,000,000 = Restaurant at the end of the universe.

See you there. I'll have a...
