What's the backplate good for? That go with the cooler?

It's useful when you put a 2.5lb waterblock on it Cheesy  The card has a tendency to warp leading to broken solder.

Not bad if the board is basically like brand-new. Congratz and happy mining Smiley

Thank you Cheesy I'll end up selling the cooler and buy the waterblock. Cheesy

It's a sapphire board with 71.5% ASIC quality

I would guess that the 50GB DB/'s are obtained from Galaxy S3 vouchers or other Samsung tablet vouchers. You can't use referals to boast your account beyond 10-12 GB if I'm not wrong.

this is correct

5850 reference has been sold!  Updated original post.

It had coil shine in the very beginning.....
Yah, nothing stays shiny and new forever Wink

(you did mean whine, right ?...lol)

Yes I did, haha. I need to proof-read more often :p

Hashing with the cash at 30C has given me a huge increase in MH/J

How much do you think is the gain in MH/J with water cooling?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=57410.0

He was using 232W/card at stock clocks on air, while using 191W/card at stock clocks on water. So about a saving of 40W, or if you rathar deal with MH/J numbers it's 2.37 MH/J (air) to 2.87 MH/J (water).

If you pay 10c/kwh, the waterblocks save you about $35/year.

I still don't see how swapping out 1 fan for a watercooler saves 40W...

The fan has nothing to do with it.  My fan used 10W while my pump uses ~30w (not sure)

As transistors get hot, they consume more power.  We're talking going from 70C to ~ 30C

I have 76.7% from an XFX reference black edition.  Watercooled that baby Wink

ALSO:  28nm has huge leakage.  Once those temps are up, power draw is huge.  Hashing with the cash at 30C has given me a huge increase in MH/J

I don't also understand the difference between say 24 phases and 8+2 or something like that for mobos.

The more phases, the less voltage spikes.  You know, when cpu's are oc'd to 1.4v.. a voltage spike could fry it.

I have a reference XFX black edition.  I watercooled it :p  It had coil shine in the very beginning, but it went away for some odd reason.

Right to my bitcoin address is fine Smiley  Pm me your address and we can discuss details there.

I don't know.  It looks like ATI reference

...Same MH/s, same space in the case, but better airflow.
...Same MH/s, less space in the case, but better airflow.

No, I said it right. I'm talking about keeping that 4th slot open for airflow. If you did take out the extra slot, it would be less space.

2 slots (7970) + 2 slots (7970) = 4 slots with bad cooling.
3 slots (7970x2) + 1 slot (for airflow) = 4 slots with better cooling.
3 slots (7970x2) + 0 slots (for airflow) = 3 slots with bad cooling.

Oh, ok.  That's kind of what I was hinting at o.o

so what would the total be 24BTC?

Total would be 48 BTC and you'll have both cards in your hand
