Why are you still mining for him when you may get nothing back?
Putting much hash his way?
202  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bonuspool - Discussion on: October 06, 2012, 11:45:35 AM
I wouldn't think any of these guys are mining for him.
203  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario on: October 06, 2012, 07:41:12 AM
Did he just get 3 black eyes?
204  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario on: October 06, 2012, 07:38:31 AM
We havent broken ANY laws. Show me one fucking law that mentions bitcoin specifically.

Laws are open to interpretation. They don't have to specifically label bitcoin.
205  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario on: October 06, 2012, 07:25:48 AM

It will only be illegal if its not shut down. It currently isnt illegal.

If nefario has been told to shut it down and complies there is no issue.

Rubbish.  He can still be charged over the period he was operating the exchange illegally, although the penalties would most likely be administrative.  Whether the FSA/SEC or whomever would actually pursue charges is a different issue but we're not talking about a restraining order/injunction here where the obligation to refrain from a behaviour doesn't start until a legal request to desist is issued and non-compliance with that request creates the illegality.

No bitcoin.me is correct.

I rob banks all the time and when they say stop I stop. Then they can't put me in jail.
206  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario on: October 06, 2012, 05:31:28 AM
So why do people want to hide their identities?

Because if 'the feds' are targeting an exchange, the next step is to go after the users of the exchange, I'd encourage everyone to just take the loss and move on... as that's the only sane thing to do.

What's wrong with using an exchange?

208  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What are the chances Bfl. Basic. Avalon. Etc use the same gear? on: October 05, 2012, 07:19:30 PM
The probability is exactly zero that anyone but BFL is using our chips, since ours are 100% original proprietary IP.

100%? :-)

Yea, it is China...
209  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Thoughts on Pyramining? on: October 05, 2012, 10:56:50 AM
What were the odds this would turn in to a referral spam thread?
This is the only reason I don't like it. Referrals are so annoying.

Anybody tried running this on a Pi?
212  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Avalon" ASIC, announcement & pre-order. second wave @ 9:00am EDT, 10/03 on: October 04, 2012, 10:04:34 AM
Exactly. It just causes unnecessary work for these developers. Even a larger company like BFL doesn't do it because it takes up so much time.
213  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Avalon" ASIC, announcement & pre-order. second wave @ 9:00am EDT, 10/03 on: October 04, 2012, 09:08:29 AM
In the first batch, I bought one more than I wanted, for the purpose of reselling later when all 300 were sold. Now that it's unlikely anyone can buy more Avalons for $1300, is anyone interested in buying my extra one for more? I'll probably setup an auction thread, if there is enough interest, and assuming ngzhang/Yifu can change the ship address on my order to the auction winner's. So, who missed the boat and is willing to pay a premium to get a first-batch Avalon?

Cancel and refund this guy...
214  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bonuspool - Discussion on: October 04, 2012, 05:27:30 AM
Typing this and opening the whole thread probably put me at the end of the line.

I hate that feeling. I would not expect that in this case.

I would avoid labeling him a scammer until his return from his ?holiday? at minimum.

Did you world end or business collapse when you divulged information like this?

My order is in the 600s. Sad

Clipse will regain my trust when he delivers.  No payments since July is crazy.  I understand the situation and am hopeful that he will follow through, but I see a big difference between hope and trust.

+1.

How much are people owed?

Under 10btc for me.

Per the #gpumax channel topic on freenode:

<pirateat40> GPUMAX will be down on 10/08 at 12:00 AM CST.  The system may or may not come back up depending on the new owners.

Funds going to the people he ripped off? ;-)
