hello.. quick question

can i transfer my bitcoins from my cavirtex account to my silk road wallet? because i dont want to download the blockchain for my personal wallet
203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins not recieved!!! on: September 05, 2012, 12:21:28 PM
yeah do not worry your bitcoins should be there

just make sure you keep your wallet.dat file (its stored in c:\users\(yourusername)\appdata\roaming\bitcoin)

you might want to make a couple backups of your wallet.dat file just in case
204  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: virtex cash deposit help on: September 05, 2012, 12:17:25 PM
i've never done a cash deposit before so i just want to make sure im doing it right, so this is what i'm going to do and please post if i am doing it wrong

1. request deposit on site for $140.24 (24 cents because my account number ends in 24)
2. go to bank and make cash deposit in virtex account for $140.24 (and keep deposit slip)
3. come home and wait for the cash to show up on my account page (or verify it with deposit slip if required)
4. buy bitcoins with money on virtex site
5. transfer bitcoins to personal wallet

It's probably best not to get into too much detail about your own particular transaction,
but that sounds about right.

Make sure you read Virtex's faq and transfer method pages and the recent news items
about any possible changes not updated in the other documents.

If you already have a Canadian bank account you could look into whether it is possible
to do an online bill payment from them to Virtex. It is probably already set up if other
users use the same bank or credit union...  if not all it may take is an email to Virtex.

In any case be prepared for a two-business-day wait to move CAD to Virtex.

thanks, going to make the deposit today so hopefully it all goes well

The one time I did it I just called their phone number told them I was depositing, went to bank made deposit came back home called again to confirm it was received by them which it was they then credited my account, whole process under an hour.
it does say on their site that in-person cash deposits will take 4-8 hours to process, so I hope its quick for me (been itching to make a purchase for about 3-4 days now)

hi, I need to buy some bitcoins asap (supposed to buy something in a few hours)

You can deposit cash at Royal Bank, Bank of Montreal or ScotiaBank, and it will be credited to your account at CA VirtEx, generally same day I believe.

I heard you can use VirWox to buy linden dollars with a credit card and convert it to bitcoins, can anyone confirm this and/or tell me how?

That is possible, but that method too is not immediate.  I believe there is at least a 1-day delay after the payment is processed before the SLLs are received.

There is one method that might work.  BitcoinNordic accepts funds using CashU.  CashU funds can be purchased online in Canada from a couple online merchants:
 - http://www.BitcoinNordic.com

Apparently, KashU funds can be purchased in Canada as well.  KashU is another funding method for use in paying for a CashU transaction:

I don't know those methods well, so I'm not sure if it is a fast transaction.  The fees aren't necessarily pretty either.
damn, you are extremely helpful

thank you so much Cheesy

hi, I need to buy some bitcoins asap (supposed to buy something in a few hours)

I checked VirtEx but everything takes at least 1-2 business days

I was going to use interac email transfer but apparently its reversible so people wont use it

and lastly, I heard you can use VirWox to buy linden dollars with a credit card and convert it to bitcoins, can anyone confirm this and/or tell me how?

thanks for any help

hey guys im looking to buy about 140$ in BTC. I am canadian and I would like to pay using email interac ASAP...

looking for someone with good reputation

I've seen Interac cash-out methods but that isn't accepted at any exchanges due to it not being a non-reversible form of payment.

If you can't find a trade here, keep in mind that there are plenty of cash deposit methods accepted by Canadian exchanges.

oh, I thought interac email transfer was non-reversible

thanks

I have recently used Virwox to purchase bitcoins with credit card and Paypal...you buy the "linden dollars" and then exchange them for bitcoins. The fee was kind of high but it was worth it to me to have the convenience of using a credit card or Paypal.
thank you I'll check it out

You're welcome  Smiley They have a FAQ up that explains the process (I was kinda confused at first). I had a heck of a time finding a place that would accept credit card or Paypal so it was finally nice to find a place that would do it.
Smiley
going to try this real soon because I had no luck finding someone who sells bitcoins and accepts interac-e transfer
thanks again
