201  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest your bitcoins. on: October 28, 2016, 09:11:07 PM
Keep reading people are investing in these gambling sites and I have yet to figure out how or if I want to give that a shot. Might be nice to gain off gambling besides bleeding all over the poker tables for a change. Will take a look at these sites and see if I can find the links for investing, agree with the issues with P2P lending as well.
It attracts a element that is either desperate or scamming and the chances of a legit person using the setup is rare.
Thanks for the list will bookmark to look into later this week.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Swiss rail ticket machines to offer bitcoins on: October 28, 2016, 09:06:24 PM
So they are selling bitcoin at the rail station but its a bit gray if you can use it on the rail as well, say to by a ticket or did I miss a segment?
6% is a bit hefty if they want people to use it on the rail system as well, being dinged that amount each time would be pointless. Maybe I just answered my question! Grin
I guess a rail system is the best place to get the most traffic, there was one in the rail system here but it disappeared. That said most are very close to 2 blocks from the stations,so they do seem to be in high traffic areas like the Swiss are planning to be in.

I hope these stations to buy bitcoin are stand alone or it could discourage new users due to not wanting to hold up a line up trying to buy rail passes.
The photo does not make it clear if this is the set up.

204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another exchange goes bust. Bitcurrex loses ~2300 BTC on: October 28, 2016, 08:45:21 PM
When it comes to these large amounts where exchanges get raped,it feels like there is a wide enough spot to develop a failsafe method to protect against this.
Like a program that shifts the bitcoin around in groupings,so it is constantly moving through the blockchain and when it gets altered it shows up right away as a problem and you can stop all the other bitcoins from being juggled around. Going into lock down mode! Would leave a paper trail and a pretty close time stamp as well if it could be set up.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Iceland vote for Bitcoin and Auroracoin? on: October 28, 2016, 08:33:16 PM
There seems to be a push by some parties in Europe to adopt bitcoin, but a part of me thinks its all for the wrong reasons.
I love bitcoin but I also know digital currencies allow governments to rip the finances out of our hands with a flick of the switch.
Lot of left looking parties tend to have some serious control issues when you start to peel back the onion layers.

I know the Green Party here has a environmental platform but you look at anything beyond the enviro image and they become more right leaning than you would expect from a group claiming world peace and hug a tree.

Still does not explain why no one has gone looking at all for the bitcoin. Undecided
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc and traditional banks on: October 28, 2016, 07:17:11 PM
I actually went looking for something like bitcoin due to how my bank was treating me. Needed a way to get funds online and the choices where slim at the time, without the bank seeing what is going on and risking a closed account. Times have changed but the other aspect is government ultimately can come in and dictate the banks to lock it up.

Bitcoin has made a few places lighten up but also caused others to tighten up,so I rather not jump through any hoops temporarily to find out that it will be used against me later on.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legitimate reasons for needing your bitcoin 'washed' on: October 28, 2016, 07:12:39 PM
What legitimate reasons are there for wanting one's bitcoin 'mixed' or 'anonymized?'

You want a legitimate reason to get your Bitcoins tumbled? Fungibility. Some online services like Coinbase are starting to block Bitcoins used in online gambling from entering their services. If more and more services and exchanges start doing this practice then this will affect the value of the coins. One coin that went thru the darknet market or thru a gambling site would potentially become less valuable compared to the clean coins.

This is not a flaw in Bitcoin per se but some centralized services have a choice to accept certain inputs or not depending on their rules and policies.

Im curious about sites doing this in attempts to play ball with government in the future. Could we not start washing every coin we come across in a gambling site?
This would make it near impossible for people to use coinbase due to a large segment of the coin being connected in this manner.
Or they just stopping direct connections from gambling sites?

Its crazy seeing sites manipulate us into playing ball.
208  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I convert my savings into Bitcoin? on: October 27, 2016, 09:53:11 PM
These types of questions always tend to make me think the person is farming a account or really in need of a way to rely more on their own brain.
Asking strangers is a good way to get the hook in the mouth and bled out for all you are worth by a snake oil salesman.

So do ones own due diligence and come back to the table with what you know and see if it stands up under cross examination.
No one holds any ones hand for free! There will always be a cost for what you perceive to be free knowledge.

Besides lumping all ones eggs in one basket is a good way to be looking for the tallest building in the neighborhood to jump out of.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Crash coming on: October 27, 2016, 09:48:43 PM
The economy will not fall in the manner that a lot of conspiracy folks picture it to fall. It will be gradual and slow like we have been since 2008.
Fall never came and the governments floated and tread water in hopes they could some how scrath their way up.

Now if you look at the digital currency world as the governments want it to be,you can picture how easy it would be for them to add negative interest rates.
They know people will pull out in mass from their banks and horde money,so having a digital currency will allow them to just hit you whenever they need to.
You can see the movement towards more and more control and its always a steady push instead of sudden jolt. Like a crab in a pot,it slowly gets the heat raised on it!
210  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: October 27, 2016, 09:44:03 PM
Price does not matter if you are looking at the potential to shake the world financial system to its core.
The problem is people have tied a USD currency to its value so that people can get in on the action. If enough people connect with bitcoin we can drop that connection
and set up camp outside these regulated banks and not have to worry about negative interest rates or banks seizing all our funds for austerity reasons like in Greece.

People will wake up one day and smell this world for what it is and that is when the price of bitcoin will not matter,it will be there and that is all that matters.
211  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Rallies During Presidential Election on: October 27, 2016, 09:19:50 PM
Think it has more to do with the police force in the Philippines paying $100 per head of drug users. Wink

The election is a blip, not saying its a not big deal but the correlation is weak.
Bitcoin tends to do odd moves when you think it is connected to gold it goes the opposite. What we face is a little market manipulation and people start buying back in thinking they
can make a bit of dough off the next upward cycle. Its not a bad idea but bitcoin has the tendency to get a slight push and it starts to sail because we get all frantic about missing the boat.

213  Economy / Economics / Re: Trade house for 1 bitcoin on: October 27, 2016, 07:18:43 PM
How about not in this life,it would take bitcoin a long process to be equal to a house in my hood (Average 1.2 million) and I am not even rich! Chinese flooded in and things went haywire,so I do not see bitcoin hitting that level. My opinion is that bitcoin will be around for a long time but it will go the way of the dodo due to advancements in technology. Some of you are not old enough to know a time before the internet or early internet, people never saw a lot of the stuff coming that we now have in such a short time.
214  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Freedom on: October 27, 2016, 07:15:29 PM
The frustrating issue about bitcoin is how many people do not understand this about bitcoin and push for regulation. We either have a mass that are dumber than I expected or we have a lot of effective fud going on here that is misleading folks into wanting a ruling syndicate over bitcoin. So which is it?
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be blocked too by the government or isp ?? on: October 27, 2016, 07:10:44 PM
Have read a few articles on this topic lately and some say that places like China are getting better and more sophisticated at breaking loopholes but then there are others that point out the cost.
The cost is really a interesting dynamic because they are double fisting the issue and bleeding money till something cheaper comes along.

-Take the cap off freebitcoins in dice
-Bring back freerolls
- Establish lower limits for poker
- Create a area that does not cater specifically to Argentinians

The cap on dice is silly, since it is my experience that working from that small amount is near impossible and takes tremendous patience to get anywhere near .0001. Most attempts for me that involve allin at 80% end up at zero for the most part,so you really are not creating traffic by putting a cap in place.

Freerolls as much as it attracted cheaters allowed people to test the poker platform and see if they where comfortable playing on the site. It also allowed players to work their way up from nothing and would have grown the poker field if you adopted the next issue.

Lower limits attract more players and would help you have ongoing traffic. Instead you are drying up at the tables at weak hours and people are heading to other sites.
.01/.02,.05/.01,.25/.50 would be a great start. These limits you currently offer are appearing like a place to sit in and get shark attacked by a collusion ring. More players less chance of collusion.

The site used to run like it cared about bringing people into the fold but lately I just see most aspects looking you are fine with the players Red Argentina has and calling it a day. No give away's here other than the signature campaign.

Last time I post in here as it does seem like the signature campaign gets more attention these days.
218  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: October 26, 2016, 07:47:49 PM
Any edge you create in making a home where steady income can be created through bitcoin would eventually be over flooded with like minded folks looking for the same outcome.
The one part of bitcoin that always amazed me,is the lack of creativity that branches bitcoin into new functional areas. We have a lot of copycat and people working off tried and true but few stepping into the void and looking for the game changer.
Without being the boss of ones business relating to bitcoin, you are doomed into this copycat play or working at peanuts for hours on end.
219  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: October 26, 2016, 07:44:04 PM
One problem that would ease or become more obvious is how the bitcoin atm units exploit price and currency exchange to hide their true fees. Imagine this would spread into other aspects as well and would kill a bit of the profit margin for like minded companies.
Once bitcoin leveled off exchanges would have to adapt or go the way of the dodo and I think a bit of the lending would also peter out as the percentages would not be as big and speculative.
220  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: October 26, 2016, 07:40:39 PM
The vast number needed to equal some whales would be a big issue and it would be very hard to implement without some kind of automated system. Just time zone alone would create a issue for us to set these walls up.
The more people you need the more the potential for hiccups and going against a much smaller unit, brings way to many issues where we could get hosed.
