The failure of crypto communities to shunt their coins from the speculative-currency phase to the ‘transactional-volume’ phase has been a tragedy

To be fair, it's because crypto in general is:

1. Almost impossible to understand and use for anyone that isn't a techie;
2. Accepted basically nowhere without cumbersome third party intervention;
3. Too volatile to be used as a store of value;
4. Uninsured against theft or loss;
5. Not sufficiently superior to established systems at anything other than a) instantaneous international transfer (not useful in 99.9% of transactions to everyday folk), b) low-fee transfer of huge volumes of wealth (not useful to 99.9% of everyday folk; also see point 3 above).

Right now crypto is a very poorly implemented solution looking for a problem to solve for everyday people. Until that happens (if ever) it will remain a niche speculative interest.

Hi Mochillies. Thank you for listing some very important points. It is quite apparent that our industry has been struggling to gain traction. There are many reasons that have caused such setback. Due to my time constraints, I will generalize my comments rather than trying to be specific. I will be happy to answer any questions, one at a time if asked.

Success in business is often about one’s ability to objectively identify problems with the skill-sets to solve those problems. If done correctly, the larger and more complex the problem, the larger the payoff to the party capable of solving those problems. Being complex typically means that many people may attempt to give it a shot but failed due to poor execution of their plans or because they  have grossly underestimated the complexities and unforeseeable challenges. Essentially these explain a lot about the current state of affairs of our industry. The number of failed, or failing ventures, are significantly higher than any I have witnessed in my 40+ years as an entrepreneur. Typically, business failure rate is about 30% by the end of the second year. We may be seeing 80% or higher failure in our industry.

However, as I mentioned in my blog post yesterday, “it is very important to clearly understand that there are two segments to this technology revolution. On one side, is Bitcoin - the digital currency where it is struggling. On the other side is the Blockchain Technology - that is thriving and will continue to see explosive growth.

Having said that let me briefly response to one of the issues on your list and let others address the rest of them:

1.   Almost impossible to understand and use for anyone that isn't a techie;

That is absolutely correct. I have even come across highly educated techie who still has the same problem. We are making every attempt to make things as easy and comfortable as possible as reflected in the launching of DNotesVault. The total solution will take years to fully implement. For example, it is very complicated for someone new to purchase their initial first batch of DNotes. In due time, we will have our own registered and licensed DNotes dedicated exchange wholly owned by us or in partnership with others. Even with that one still needs to make the decision of saving on a regular basis and physically do a few things to make that happened. The long term solution is to get the regulatory blessings where the targeted amount is deduct from payroll and deposited in the DNotesVault account of the saver and the amount is tax deferred, just like any 401K or IRA.

Someone else can continue from here, even if you want to comment on just one or more of the issues listed.

Yeah that is what I am seeing with CRISP and which is actually something I have thought about regarding digital currencies and using it to compound interest. There is a lot to talk about indeed  Smiley

Welcome to DNotes!

You have certainly come to the right place to integrate crypto into your mission. I've been on your site a few times and I have to say you are doing important work. We all need to insure the digital revolution doesn't pass over those who can benefit the most like many new technologies have. You will find everyone here ready and willing to assist...

Yeah I will keep you updated and refreshed about what is going on with Cosmic HQ because I know what we are doing now and what will be happening in the future will be of interest to you from the point of view that it will be a contact point for you to exert your own goals
Hi Cosmic HQ. Thanks for visiting. I am glad you understand that as much as we help to manage DNotes as a business, no one controls DNotes as a business. I was just reminded by an email someone sent to me from Hong Kong saying that they have been trading DNotes in a Number of Exchanges that I have never heard of. Bitcoin did not build their ecosystem or provide them the funding. When there is money to be made all kinds of people will want to take the chances. Our job is to build the most important part of the infrastructure and others will continue as long as they believe that there is good money to be made.

I have been getting emails all day long from people all over the world taking a very serious look at DNotes. It is not an over statement to say that DNotes is becoming the rising star. Once we are at the next level a lot of things we had wished for will become a reality. The Chicago meeting has been confirmed to be held on Tuesday May 12, 2015. At least from my world, things are moving fast and furious. The last thing I need to worry about is getting listed on Cryptsy, but out community should any efforts to do so.

Oops. 5 more emails just came in during the time it took me to write this post. About 8 minutes. I no longer have tome to even edit.

Take care. Will drop in again when I have a chance.

Forgive me if this is out of place, but this thread seems to have forgotten all about DNotes development and instead is just posting news about crypto in general (and various quasi-delusional libertarian dreams of the future). Could we perhaps.... get back to the point?

TeeGee asked a few pages back:

What do people here think the best way to encourage forum participation is?

The best way to get any participation period is to position the coin as a worthwhile and accessible speculation instrument. Whether you philosophically believe this or not, in crypto it's true. The ability to buy and sell something as a means to make money is the only route to awareness at this time.

So what is the most important short-term goal to achieve? Getting NOTE listed on Cryptsy. Until that happens, very little in the way of adoption or awareness will happen. Sure, you say - we're taking it slow. Well, I guess there's three speeds: slow, dead slow, and stop.

Pushing the listing of the coin on a major exchange will do a thousand times more for usage and interest than any marketing campaign, than any development work, than any linkedin posts..

Cryptsy needs to be our number one target above all else if this innovative coin is going to go anywhere.

Hi Mochilles, good to see you. We do support getting DNotes listed on Cryptsy. It took them almost a year with many strong appeals before they put us on their voting list; a little odd to me. We have the same issue with Bittrex. I know you have been a very strong supporter of DNotes. We are in a significantly stronger position today than any other days before. It will be a very good thing if you and our community could lead a sustained campaign to get DNotes listed on Cryptsy.  While we are on the subject of being listed on more exchanges, we might as well give Bittrex another shot. You will have my support for that. We may even want approach a couple of exchanges outside of the United States.

We are positioning DNotes for rapid growth starting next year. Behind the scene, a great deal of work is being done but not appropriate to disclose other than some general hints here and there. Personally I have been putting in no less that 14 hour a day, 7 days a week for the entire month of April. We are developing worldwide connections, everyday. Strategic executions are hard to measure when they are still in progress. What I can tell you is that, by January 2016, we will have a lot more stakeholders outside of the United States and a lot closer to CoinMarketCap top 10.

As I mentioned a number of times, I am working on multiple projects, and will not have as much time to post on this forum. However, anytime when I noticed that this forum is dead quiet, I would drop everything else I was working to make a post.

Lastly, I do strongly believe that being well read and deeply informed about what is going on in our industry is essential. I used to leave other issues that were not directly related to DNotes alone. We should be very proud of the fact that more people are taking notice of DNotes with admiration, and the words trust, integrity, and respect are beginning to show up in published articles and blog posts. There are also signs that some are turning our way for leadership. DNotes is not only on track but we have already shifted to a higher gear. Those who are selling DNotes at the current price and hope to buy them back at a lower price may soon end up owning less DNotes than if they had done nothing. But, of course, this is a free market. I am all in, but it does not mean you should. We always suggest that you should not invest any more that 10% of your total portfolio or only money you can afford to loose, in case of a total loss.

Breaking News:

This will be an interesting one to watch. How long would it take to get SEC approval before the IPO? What kind of push back can we expect from investment banking firms? How many more “me too” will be lining up and how soon? Do we even need any more CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or someone we can trust with our hard earned money?

I can fill this page with many more questions, but I rather not, and only wished that we all can learn from history. May be just a short period of that: Bitcoin Industry December 2013 to April 2015;

Titled “Damages Caused By A Trustless Decentralized System With No One To Trust

OVERSTOCK FILES TO OFFER STOCK THAT WORKS LIKE BITCOIN

OVERSTOCK.COM IS ONEstep closer to offering a new kind of stock intended to remake the stock market in much the same way the bitcoin digital currency remade our money system.

On Friday, the Salt Lake City-based online retailer filed a prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission that indicates it may issue up to $500 million in stock or other securities using technology akin to the online software system that underpins bitcoin. “We may decide to offer securities as digital securities…the ownership and transfer of which are recorded on a cryptographically-secured distributed ledger system using technology similar to (or the same as) the distributed ledger technology used for trading digital currencies,” the filing reads.

This past summer, Overstock’s free-thinking CEO, Patrick Byrne, said that the company was hoping to issue a “cryptosecurity” using bitcoin-like technology, and he hired both the developers and the lawyers needed to do so. Now, he and his company have taken the idea to government regulators. As Byrne puts it, he’s calling on the SEC to “sprinkle holy water” on his push towards digital securities. “This is a decision point for the establishment,” he says.

Byrne hopes to offer stock that's controlled not by a central stock exchange such as the NYSE or the NASDAQ, but by a network of machines spread across the internet.

Basically, Byrne hopes to offer stock that’s controlled not by a central stock exchange such as the NYSE or the NASDAQ, but by a network of machines spread across the internet—machines outside the control of any one central authority. Using cryptographic algorithms, these machines would mathematically verify all trades and record them in an online ledger that anyone could examine at any time, much as the worldwide bitcoin network verifies and records the exchange of money. Byrne and Overstock have long complained of loop holes in our existing stock markets, and he believes that technology can help shore up these holes.

“The prospect of using a blockchain-like public ledger to hold securities or other assets is quite exciting and one that should be explored,” says James Angel, a professor of finance at Georgetown University who specializes in the details of the U.S. financial system. “This will make a great test case as to whether it really works or whether it will suffer Mt. Gox-like problems.” Mt. Gox is the popular bitcoin exchange that descended into bankruptcy after hackers broke into its online system and eventually made off with the equivalent of $460 million in bitcoin.

A Free Market
Last year, Overstock became the first major online retailer to accept payments in bitcoin. Like so many others, Byrne argues that the digital currency can free our economy from the grip of big banks and big government. Now, he’s bringing this same attitude to stocks. His project is just one of many that seek remake the stock market using bitcoin technology, such as NXT, Mastercoin, Bitshares, and Counterparty. At one point, Overstock hired some of the primary developers behind Counterparty, but these engineers have since left the company.

On Friday, Overstock filed what is called a “shelf registration.” Basically, this would allow the company to sell any kind of security—common stock, preferred, debt, warrants, etc.—if and when it chooses to. Such filings are not uncommon–though this one is unusual in that it says the company could issue the securities in digital form.

According to Overstock’s filing, the company would offer its digital security through what’s called analternative trading system, or ATS. This is essentially a stock market alternative that must be registered with the SEC. Overstock would have to make arrangements with an existing ATS or somehow create a new one. It must also answer any SEC objections from the SEC.

Georgetown’s Angel expects the SEC to approve the filing, but he says this may take a while. “The SEC staff in corporate finance is notoriously risk averse when it comes to new technology, so they may delay things for a long while and request lots of additional disclosures,” he says. “[But] the parade of horribles in the disclosure is very complete, so I would think that it would get approved eventually.”

Angel adds, however, that if Overstock does offer a digital security, he expects few investors to take advantage of it—at least initially. “My own prediction is that initially very few shareholders will choose to hold their shares in digital form because of the technological uncertainty. Investors tend to be very risk averse about things such as custody,” he says. To succeed, he says, such an offering must have proper regulatory oversight by the SEC and carry insurance from an organization such as the SIPC.

The SEC declined to comment on Overstock’s filing. But according to Byrne and company spokesperson Judd Bagley, Overstock expects the SEC to open a review of the filing. Byrne has an unusually combative history with the SEC, but he says that he intends to take a more diplomatic route towards a cryptosecurity. Of the filing, he says: “I wouldn’t have taken all the time and trouble and expense to do this if I didn’t plan on using it someday soon.”

How about writing the press release that condemns the existing political system to near redundancy, after the people take back control of their own money via Digital Currency? What was it again!? - 'he who holds the gold makes the rule?' (or She if it's a cryptomoma).

I just had a thought, the people at positive money have a MASSIVE worldwide following. From what I know, they promote... well, positive money! Basically they don't like the debt-based money system that is fractional reserve banking. Crypto solves their main problem. They will surely have a view on Digital Currencies already, it will just be a matter of time until they push for adoption - we could get them onside early?

http://www.positivemoney.org/

I am not affiliated with this group in any way, I think most of their members have very different beliefs than I, but crypto is the answer they're looking for even if they don't know it yet.

We are still flying under the radar. Not quite ready for prime time.

Exactly, a currency that can actually take over must be created from the ground up. Bitcoin expanded very rapidly with a rush of liquidity that created a lot of excitement and expectation. Now that excitement and expectation is questionable. Probably much better to manage the expectation and excitement. Slow and steady wins the race.

TeeGee, that is exactly correct. We are never excited about any short term gain that is not sustainable. But this is a free market. Investors buy and sell as they see fit. We can only do our part to continuously add value to DNotes. I can tell you with a high degree of certainty that DNotes is posed for rapid growth in 2016, adding significant value to DNotes.
2009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOTE]DNotes - CRISP for Students launched! on: April 27, 2015, 03:11:48 PM
The article below is bad news for the industry. Sorry but may be it is good news for DNotes, not that we wished for it. I am sure we all hold a fair amount of Bitcoin and what is good for the industry is good for all of us. No matter what happens, we will share some of the pains, but it will also provide an incentive for some of Bitcoin ecosystem to take a serious look at DNotes. This could be interesting.

Among other involvements, I have been quite active on LinkedIn in an attempt give my networking a boost. I have been pleasantly surprised by how well I was received. On occasions, I was getting an incoming email every two minutes and built up over 500 connections in two weeks. Quite remarkable, considering that many are very senior people from our industry and from the investment community as well as the news media.

Many complimented favorably on CryptoMoms mission, but quite a few expressed concern about the Bitcoin industry. The following article does not come as a surprise. I do have a serious concern that the industry could be in for a significant retrenchment or consolidation. Those that are highly dependent on additional funding could be in for a rough ride. The recently reported closure of Buttercoin due to its inability to raise additional VC funding was the first clear indicator.

It is very important to clearly understand that there are two segments to this technology revolution. On one side,  is Bitcoin - the digital currency where it is struggling. On the other side is the Blockchain Technology - that is thriving and will continue to see explosive growth.

We have always taken the position that for digital currency to succeed it must be built from ground up with trust and integrity. There must also be multiple layers of strategies to ensure that the digital currency will remain sufficiently stable to take full advantage of the low transaction cost, making it truly attractive for merchants to accept as a form of payment. DNotes has strategically built its own ecosystem to ensure that it can accomplish all the strategic objectives of being a stable trustworthy digital currency with dependable long term appreciation. We will use the balance of this year to continue adding and fine-tuning our infrastructure. 2016 will be the year when DNotes will be promoted as a superior form of payment, as a medium of exchange. An integral part of our master plan is CRISP for Employee Incentive Benefits scheduled to be launched during the week of May 25, 2015.

Bitcoin’s Q1: Record VC Investment, Falling Prices, And Slow Consumer Adoption

Posted 10 hours ago by Alex Wilhelm (@alex)

The bitcoin-watching news service CoinDesk recently released its first quarter lookinto the cryptocurrency’s performance during the opening months of 2015. Mostly the data is net positive, showing an increase in total wallets, and investment. However, there are a number of included data points that demonstrate slowing growth in key bitcoin, and bitcoin-related areas.

The collected data indicates that the first quarter of 2015 was the most popular ever in terms of the dollar-value of venture capital investments made into the bitcoin ecosystem. That data point, however, is skewed by a single investment — the $116 round million invested into 21, a company that remains at least partially occluded in terms of its ambitions. Aside from that single investment, first quarter venture investment was on par — $113 million — with the preceding fourth quarter.

Key to bitcoin’s performance, at least from an external perspective, is the number of wallets in existence. Those receptacles and storage locations of bitcoin help the market understand how many new people the cryptocurrency is attracting. In the first quarter, according to the CoinDesk report, total wallets grew from 7.4 million to 8.4 million, up 14 percent on a sequential quarter basis.

That growth rate is likely under expectations from a year ago. The market value of all bitcoin in circulation — some remains yet-to-be-mined — fell from the last quarter of 2014 to the first quarter of 2015 by 36 percent.

The sequential quarter total is skewed by the November timeframe, but it seems that volume hasn’t seen too great an acceleration, or deceleration in the last two three-month cycles.

Among the bulleted key takeaways that the report contains is the following: “Bitcoin struggled to gain mainstream consumer traction [in the quarter].” That has been the case for the life of bitcoin. That the trend persists isn’t, therefore, too surprising. Still, it isn’t hard to wonder what bitcoin firms that pitched investors over the past 18 months, predicted would happen — did they anticipate that the price of bitcoin be so low? Would investors have invested quite so much over the past year if bitcoin wallet adoption was as slow as it has been?

Imaging if somebody was irresponsible enough to put a smart contract in the future through the Blockchain using Paypal!? Let's say it was a 'coloured coin' that represented ownership of a $500,000 property as outlined in the contract included in the blockchain transaction... Paypal are saying they have right to it.

Way to ruin your reputation, and trust from your community!!! They should clear this up soon.

That is certainly correct. If someone must insist that I can only give a one word answer to the question; What is DNotes all about? TRUST. Without that I might as well get back to the hobby I am really passionate about: being a daylily hybridizer creating more grogeous daylilies.

Very seldom do I have to read an article three times and not be sure what it was all about. I would usually read it the first time attentively followed by a quick read or scan on the key points. Okay, so may be, I put in too many 14 to 16 hours days and need to start spending some time working in the gardens. I know for certain that I have to do that soon. Or could it be that my brains just refused to believe what I was reading.

Active visitors and bloggers of this forum have heard that Bitcoin is highly disruptive, meaning that if there is mass acceptance of Bitcoin one day, as a form of payment, (medium of exchange) businesses highly dependent on revenue from providing other forms of payments like Paypal, credit and debit cards will be disrupted or negatively affected, unless they can effectively adjust and adapt. My guess is that Paypal is doing just that, though I am not sure if they can adjust and adapt effectively soon enough.

Is what they are doing sufficiently effective to the extend that there will not be a better form of payment in the future, perhaps using a different digital currency, such as DNotes? Since the senior management of Paypal, credit and debit cards may not even have heard of DNotes, it is not likely that there are any reasons for concern. After all, Bitcoin has been too volatile and DNotes is not planning to promote its digital currency as a form of payment until next year. However, it is rumored it may be starting a pilot test soon to determine if customers could fall in love with DNotes as much as the have with Daylilies. http://smokeysdaylilygardens.com/

Merchants pay as much as 5% to 10% in fees, charge back and fraud related cost burden. Accepting a stable digital currency such as DNotes can be very attractive, according to Rocky DeLucenay, Co-owned of Smokeys Daylily Gardens, one of the largest daylily growers in the world located in Coldwater, Michigan. Stay tuned for more.

BITCOIN IS THE FUTURE: PAYPAL CHANGES TERMS OF SERVICE TO TAKE YOUR CONTENT

PayPal has joined forces with Bitcoin as a sort of keep-your-friends-close-and-your-enemies closer tactic. Bitcoin is designed to overtake and make obsolete services like Paypal and Western Union. It is faster, less expensive, and doesn’t require their third-party services to accomplish the same objectives. It is a better PayPal, and they know it.

Now that the Internet has borne this superior option, it would be wise for PayPal to foster a stronger connection with its customer base to keep them happy and in the fold, no? PayPal doesn’t see it that way. In fact, they may be looking to drive more people towards the freedom and convenience of Bitcoin with their upcoming changes this summer.

PayPal’s Terms of Service to change July 1st, 2015
If you haven’t seen this, you should, and you should share this with your friends, family, anyone who used PayPal in connection with a website providing online content. On July 1st, 2015, Paypal will update it’s TOS agreement to take away any and all intellectual rights to any content you provide online. If you use Paypal to accept PayPal, they will attempt to take ownership of any online content you add to your business or website. Here is a key excerpt that basically starts the new PayPal TOS:
Amendment to the PayPal User Agreement.
Intellectual Property

We are adding a new paragraph to section 1.3., which outlines the license and rights that you give to us and the PayPal Group (see paragraph 12 below for the definition of “PayPal Group”) to use content that you post for publication using the Services. A similar paragraph features in the Privacy Policy, which is removed by the addition of this paragraph to the User Agreement. The new paragraph at section 1.3 reads as follows:

“When providing us with content or posting content (in each case for publication, whether on- or off-line) using the Services, you grant the PayPal Group a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable (through multiple tiers) right to exercise any and all copyright, publicity, trademarks, database rights and intellectual property rights you have in the content, in any media known now or in the future. Further, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, you waive your moral rights and promise not to assert such rights against the PayPal Group, its sublicensees or assignees. You represent and warrant that none of the following infringe any intellectual property right: your provision of content to us, your posting of content using the Services, and the PayPal Group’s use of such content (including of works derived from it) in connection with the Services.”

If you haven’t been following these developments, multi-national businesses are working with governments to take control of internet usage, regulations, and even local government utilities through international treaties like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The TPP is being secretly being constructed, without public or legislative consult, and is a massive outline of future controls by businesses on many aspects of your life. You aren;’t supposed to know what lies ahead with the TPP. Search online for more information on the TPP, and check WikiLeaks for more details on what little has been exposed to this attack on freedom. This is clearly a step along these growing lines of corporate fascism.

It looks like PayPal has joined the dark side, but freedom rings within the Bitcoin community, and this just underscores why Bitcoin is here and why it is the future of online technology and business. It’s all about control. Their control. See the link above about their plans for biometric control over your account. Paypal looks ready to confiscate your online content, and your business if you let them. Bitcoin brings power to the people. The choice is yours. Consider yourselves warned.

Is PayPal on a righteous path or are they on the wrong side of history? Do you like owning your content, or can PayPal take it, just because you use their payment service? Share above and comment below.

Hi Everyone,

Just showing up to say hello to everyone. You may not be seeing me here as often or can expect the prompt response to every post. That is how companies on the fast track grow. By strategic choice, DNotes flew under the radar for the most part of last year. We are now on the fast track. Once we felt certain that we had established a solid foundation with the most critical portions of our own ecosystem, we started a sustained PR campaign to promote awareness of all our projects. It is already beginning to payoff. Be watchful for a number of write-ups to be published in the coming weeks.

This momentum will intensify. I am also drafting a press release announcing Smokeys Daylily Gardens as the first Merchant accepting DNotes as payment. As you may know, Smokeys Daylily Gardens is one of the largest Daylily Growers in the world. http://smokeysdaylilygardens.com/viewcart.php  We are treating this as our first pilot. The big push for DNotes to be accepted as payment by merchants will kick off at the beginning of 2016. Every move we make is strategic and will only take place at the most opportune time. That is just another DNotes difference and we are sticking to it.

Chicago as the "Epicenter of Digital Currency and Blockchain Technology" is still on. I was up way passed mid-night building some solid connections through LinkedIn. The responses I have been getting are impressive. We are getting known and becoming well respected. Keep up the good work and thanks for all your support.

A question I have for everyone here is: is there use for Cosmic HQ's services ? If so, what are they?

CosmicHQ, every single one of the services and partner services on your site is something we need or will need help with.

Thank you. What I want to know is how can Cosmic HQ and CRISP and Dnotes be integrated and plugged into each other so that our efforts in accomplishing our strategies are moving in the same direction and when reaching our individual goals, you can branch out into areas you want to exist in. And how is it that Cosmic HQ can supply you with what you are needing and will be needing.

By aligning our forces in the direction which we want to move into, your efforts will be multiplied just by the simple action of helping us move forward.

I know for a fact that there is something being done by Unocoin in India called BSIP (Bitcoin Systematic Investment Planning) and that is only similar program I know of in India which is similar to what CRISP is in India that I can think of. In other words, there is so much room for expansion in India and considering the fact that Cosmic HQ already is established there in regards to its companies Coconet Kings, Stellar Business International and Cosmic HQ's Technology Division (Cosmic HQ Laboratories) in Chennai, India and also a Cointelegraph India franchise which we manage, there is so much potential for you to reach for us and help us make ourselves bigger and make you known in India. The potential is really there waiting to discharge so much energy. And I'm just talking about India. There is Africa, there is the Middle East, there is Latin America, there is Australia, there is New Zealand and also the USA and other countries which would benefit so much from these services, which services would cause a wide impact in the lives of every person and family involved. You really want to be the first ones there and I am telling you that we are already there so why not reach out to us and search for a mutual agreement with us about bringing you there also.

There are other projects which Cosmic HQ is involved in, projects which cannot be talked actually because of an NDA. But I can assure you, they are projects that would be of the greatest help and usefulness to you also if you were to get into business with Cosmic HQ.

Hi, Cosmic HQ. Thanks for introducing Cosmic HQ to our community. Your web site looks like it has a noble mission to improve the life of others. That is a good thing.

Despite my very busy schedule, I had already visited your site three times but did not see an immediate project our group is in the position to participate at this time. DNotes is a very conservative community that follows a very different and strict strategic path based on our own time schedule. We are nimble and work with limited resources to get a lot done through a great deal of hard work and volunteer time. At this stage, this is not a group that has the money or time to spare. Everything that the DNotes team and its community have accomplished is the result of hard work and limited self funding.

If you have any specific project proposals that your groups are prepared to fund and support we will be happy to give them serious consideration. WE like to thank you for bringing Cosmic HQ to our attention and we wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

Hey Dyna. I got it. I will keep participating in the forums to see what is going on with this and so you know Cosmic HQ is here to help you.
Thanks, Cosmic HQ. That is excellent. DNotes has very different business models and philosophies. We are very strategic with every move and do not seek short-term gain for publicity or instant gratification. It is well reflected throughout this forum that we do not make commitments we cannot deliver. Our industry does not need any more false starts. What we need is a cultural change. From one that has been brutally destructive and hostile to one that fosters mutual respect and cooperation for mutual benefits.

It has been becoming very apparent that the damages and cost to our industry has been high and keep pilling up. Personally, I have never been as challenged to give it all I got to help this industry to rebuild its image. We have specifically avoid seeking Venture Capital funding during the formative stage so that we can pursue  to do what is right as opposed to what would maximize our financial gains. Large scale funding will come in place later when the most critical parts of our ecosystem are solidly in place, projected to be as early as the beginning of next year. Until we all have earned the trust and respect, too few will take us seriously and mass acceptance of digital currency will not happen for a long time.

We will diligently seek to develop a close relationship with a small group who share our visions, leading to partnering with a few to jointly push forward to achieve our common missions in building a better world. Stay for a lot more to come.

This is very interesting,

"Dogecoin Founder Exits Crypto Community Citing 'Toxic' Culture" - http://www.coindesk.com/dogecoin-founder-bitcoin-toxic/

"The Australian native went on to present his opinion that digital currency participants have done little to create a community that is inclusive to all, citing the recent support of Kentucky Senator and US Tea Party member Rand Paul as evidence."

I'm glad I don't frequent the Doge forums... much more civilised here!

That is a very sad expression of frustrations. However, I totally understand the disgust like the Mintpal Moola experience he had to put up with.

DNotes clearly recognized that our industry needed a cultural change if digital currency were to gain mass acceptance. Money is an important tool as a medium of exchange, used by all people, irrespective of gender, race or net worth. We have work long and hard to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and get our full support when needed. We started out with the shared stake philosophy in an effort to get DNotes into the ownership of as many people as possible. Our CRISP For Students will continue that tradition for sometime so that many students will have some ownership of DNotes without having to pay for it to get started. This again is the DNotes difference and we will continue to help build a culture of mutual respect for mutual benefits.

Fighting gender inequality: Crypto Moms celebrate one year of promoting bitcoin

20 April 2015   Hits: 82

Crypto Moms, an American bitcoin forum for women, celebrates its first anniversary. The forum has enjoyed some success in promoting cryptocurrency to its target audience over the past year.

As of March 20th, the forum had a total of 6,713 members, including some who had written hundreds of posts.

Quote
“Crypto Moms was launched in April 2014 with a dedicated mission to increase women’s participation in cryptocurrency. Not only has this ongoing mission been successful, Crypto Moms has grown into one of the best learning centres for everyone interested in digital currency”

The design of the forum looks suspiciously similar to the design of “mama forums” or popular forums that cater to female audiences all around the planet. It is not very clear whether this is a parody or a conscious imitation designed to attract the target audience. However, the forum form allows this popularizing website to offer many solutions that are absent on many big platforms.

For the newcomers, this forum provides blogposts with simple explanations of what some might see as a complex phenomenon. Here, for example, is how Crypto Moms prepare the audience for buying their first bitcoins:

Quote
“People assume that because the coins are in digital form, you have to be a computer genius to ever get their hands on any. But you could not be more wrong. Creating your own wallet and getting coins really could not be simpler.”

Forum moderators clearly have a talent for popularization:

Quote
“Let me introduce you to faucets. Ignore any thoughts of dripping tap water; this type of faucet drips coins. Faucets are an easy way to get some free coins.”

Crypto Moms also write about mining, run a Twitter account, and quickly respond to many events in the global bitcoin industry. They also pay special attention to the success of women in bitcoin industry. Recently, they began to follow Rand Paul’s campaign, but among their perennial favourites is the leader of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, Perianne Boring.

Roman Koritzsky

Very cool.

After all that hard work this is one of the few "original content" articles I came across. It is quite apparent that the author puts in some serious time researching or has been following CryptoMoms. We certainly appreciate that very much. I trust that we will be seeing more of that.

Our PR campaign is definitely paying off. I just complete my LinkedIn profile 10 days ago and have been getting great feed back. My connection is approaching 300, significantly ahead of my target and schedule. What is even more impressive is the number of people who know us well and recognize that we are different and doing a good job. This is part of my awareness campaign I mentioned earlier. We are selectively attempting to sort out potential partners. It is a rather selective and disciplined process. Phase one is to build the connections, followed by building relationship with a manageable selection and eventually partnership with a few. It is very important for our community to follow this process and assist me with your comments and recommendations. Always remember, it is best to take our time and every move is of strategic significance, and executed at the most opportune time.

It has also been a great opportunity for me to meet a lot of wonderful people who like to see us do well. I trust that some of them will drop in to check us out and hopefully join CryptoMoms and DNotes communities. There have also been quite a number of students who may be joining us soon.

I am making some progress with the Chicago project and expanding my option to include a few cities in the suburban areas. I am confident that within the next couple of months we will have a good idea where DNotes will settle with a home office. No matter where it is, that will be the Epicenter of Digital Currency and Blockchain Technology.

Hi everyone. My name is Daniel Chavez. I work for Cosmic HQ        CosmicHQ.com

I was just talking to Alan Yong and he told me to join the forum so here I am, willing to listen to what is happening with CRISP and anything else.

I mentioned to him that Cosmic HQ is has contacts in areas of the world where I think CRISP would fit in and we are planning to and are executing this plan of entering into Africa as well as India and are working on other countries at the moment. We are growing every day and everyday our goals are met which forward one of the overall purposes of Cosmic HQ which is to bring the developing countries into communication with already developed countries and societies in regards to technology.

I hope to be in a lot of conversations here and I hope you interact with me as my intentions are quite pure.

Welcome to DNotes forum, CosmicHQ. This is a great start. I am sure our community will be delighted that you can join us and will be looking forward to working with you if possible. It is already past midnight in US Eastcoast. You may not hear from them till tomorrow. Thanks, Daniel.

Our forum may be a little quiet but we are actively sharing our success story with the rest of the world. Like most worthy projects, it takes much hard work, time and dedication that can only survive with unbreakable tenacity and the will power to deliver what I truly believe is the greatest technology revolution in the history of mankind. We may never see another greater opportunity to help so many people around the world with so little. This will have significant world changing implications resulting in massive job and wealth creation. For once, this is an equal opportunity investment of time and money not exclusively limited to just the privileged few.

Below is a copy of my open letter, emailed to anyone who accepted my invitation to connect and share what we have started. You can do the same with modification tailored to more effectively communicate with different individuals or groups. Call and tell your family and friends about it, follow with your email. Respectfully, here is my challenge. If I can send out 50 a day, may be you can match me with 2. Fifty to two sounds like a fair game. 50 to 2 it is. Let's get it going. I am sure it will go a long way in contributing to the success of DNotes.

*************************

Thank you very much for accepting my invitation. I am deeply involved in digital currency with an aggressive growth path, in part, fueled by our own ecosystem. You may Google “DNotes Alan Yong” to learn more about my involvement.

Both DNotes and CryptoMoms were started over a year ago and have gained great respect and admiration from our industry. DNotes is the most stable digital currency among over 500 coins. CryptoMoms has a worthy mission to encourage and assist women to participate in the digital currency world dominated by men. DNotesVault is a secure and easy to use web wallet, with 100% deposit guarantee that is verifiable to be always in excess of the total amount on deposit, and stored in cold storage at different locations. Its family of CRISPs (Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan) is designed for everyone worldwide; from the unborn to the most senior, from the poor to the super rich to participate with the opportunity to benefit from potential high returns, albeit high risk.

Our strategic plans and execution can best be characterized as highly scalable building blocks, positioned for rapid global adoption at the most opportune time. Compared to the rest of the industry, DNotes is uniquely different, both in substance and in style. It is built for mass acceptance, with every attempt to progressively make it as frictionless and user friendly as fiat currency, while exploiting many superior capabilities that only digital currency and the Blockchain technology can deliver.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or like to participate in our efforts to promote mass acceptance of digital currency. For your convenience I have provided some links below.

Best Regards,

Alan Yong

Finally someone in the media is paying attention to the investment potential of cryptocurrency:

"ATTENTION INVESTORS IN SEARCH OF HIGHER RETURNS: CONSIDER BITCOIN"

With all the questions undermining stock and bond yields nowadays, it only makes sense for investors to take a serious look at bitcoin’s earnings potential. Look for the financial community to pay closer attention to bitcoin in the present investment environment.

Investors looking to diversify their portfolios should consider bitcoin and digital currency, according to this past weekend’s “Weekend Investor” report in The Wall Street Journal. The article, titled “In Search of Higher Returns” featured a shiny, logoed bitcoin rising as one hand gives a 100-dollar bill to another outstretched hand...

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/attention-investors-search-higher-returns-consider-bitcoin/

The more people I started communicating with the more obvious it becomes that there is a huge knowledge deficit of Bitcoin and digital currency. Even among the people who. attempted to promote Bitcoin. have not been able to take it very far. So it does surprise me that the investment community is just beginning to take a closer look at it and most of those who are involved are extremely cautious.

Allocating $1 to be invested in digital currency for every $100 invested in a balanced portfolio come across with a big red sign that says, "Extreme Caution". To me that is another media bias for being way too conservative.

What if that $1 invested in digital currency is worth $3 at the end of 12 months, and the remaining $99 is worth $101 with a total worth of $103; how much it that going to help?  The $1 invested in digital currency, assuming that it was DNotes, this case gained 200%, and the balance went up 2%. So you made $3 for every $100 invested. Big deal! This could be another problem dragging an already confused industry down. Personally I am comfortable in recommending a 10% allocation invested in high risk portfolio situations. However, it should be done with good due diligent.

Let us use a point of reference. Each DNotes today cost about 1 penny, or about 100 DNotes per $1. DNotes is substantially better established today than Bitcoin was on 22nd May 2010 when it cost 10,000 Bitcoin for two pizza. At today's price 10,000 Bitcoin is worth $2.25 million.
www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-pizza-day-celebrating-pizza-bought-10000-b.

We do not always learned from history. In my opinion. again, many will miss the boat. Read what you can but don't always believe in what you read.

More write-up on CryptoMoms:

CryptoMoms, Bitcoin Forum for Women, Celebrates first Anniversary

By Forexminute - Deepak Tiwari | Bitcoin | Apr 20, 2015 8:52AM BST

CryptoMoms, a Bitcoin forum for women, is celebrating its anniversary and continuing to encourage and assist women worldwide to participate in Bitcoin and digital currency. Moreover, as it is celebrating its first anniversary after officially launching one year ago on April 16, 2014, promises to bridge the gap between the women and the cryptocurrencies.

In a press release the Bitcoin forum for women, CryptoMoms says that in spite of the troubling gender gap being well recognized in the cryptocurrency and Bitcoin space, most industry efforts to help improve the situation have shown little result. It says that most reports indicated a slight improvement from over a year ago by about 2%.

Moreover, as CryptoMoms is becoming increasingly popular among parents and grandparents since it launched cryptocurrency investment savings plans for kids (CRISP) last December, it is trying to reach to people even more vigorously than ever. Also, DNotes, CryptoMoms and DNotesVault have added savings plans for retirement and for students worldwide.

At the occasion of the first anniversary CryptoMoms says that it has become quite apparent that moms care deeply about the financial future of their children and their financial means to get a good education. It says that digital currency, such as DNotes which are though at infancy, offer potential high returns and superior advantages as a form of payment.

Nonetheless, CryptoMoms is celebrating the first anniversary as a gateway for women into the world of digital money overwhelmingly dominated by men. It is challenging the dominance of men in the cryptocurrency ecosystem providing plenty of vital information and easy guides for women newcomers as well as a strong and helpful community.

CryptoMoms Introducing Women to Bitcoin Vigorously
The press release claims that the forum alone attracts up to 272 visitors daily, an impressive number considering that far less than 10% of the cryptocurrency community is women. This is quite astounding and successful given it is just one year when the forum was formed. CryptoMoms remains true to its mission with multiple projects to bring women on board.

CryptoMoms is inviting women to learn, or to help teach others, about cryptocurrency, investing, retirement, and the many opportunities evolving in this new industry. Nonetheless, with rich content on everything one needs to know to get started in the digital currency space; CryptoMoms continue to attract women to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency ecosystem.
