2001  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Withdrawal Fee manipulation on: May 14, 2023, 06:46:35 AM
Which exchange one would use is totally based on where they have their funds, if someone is having Bitcoins in Binance, they obviously can't use another exchange, and the only way to tackle such high fees is to simply wait for the situation to get normal and then make your transactions using Bitcoin since every platform is using this opportunity for their own benefit, especially the centralized ones.
Bitcoin withdrawal fee on Binance is 0.001 BTC. I can see OKX withdraw at 0.00016 BTC which is lower as the mempool is getting decongested. Assuming I have money on Binance, I can convert it to a an altcoin which has very low or minute fee, then convert it back to bitcoin on OKX or any other exchange of lower fee to withdraw the bitcoin. Binance does not support lightning network too, but OKX does.
2002  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where can I exchange USDC to BTC with very little fees and fast? on: May 14, 2023, 06:19:08 AM
The fee on OKX is 0.00016 BTC, which is around $4.3, unlike Binance that charges 0.001 BTC which is $26.9.  You can also use lightning network for lower fee on OKX.

You can try FixedFloat or sideshift.ai as they both only charge the network fee. The support USDT but not sure they have polygon. I have used Flixedfloat in the past and it is pretty easy to use. Last time I exchange USDT(TRC20) to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin and USDT Polygon are both not working on FixedFloat as both networks are temporary suspended for maintenance.

Edit: I saw the fee as 0.00027 BTC on OKX when I checked again. It is changing if I should guess, but far better than Binance withdrawal fee for bitcoin.
2003  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Withdrawal Fee manipulation on: May 13, 2023, 07:02:42 AM
Binance is centralized and they can do whatever they like to their customers. There are other exchanges that you can use instead if you think the fee is too high.

I checked Kucoin, the withdrawal fee is 0.001 BTC which is $26.74
0.00042 BTC on OKX which is 11.2356. But there is lightning withdrawal also.
0.001 BTC on Huobi Global
0.0005 BTC fee on Bybit

I still prefer OKX to withdraw bitcoin. But exchanges have the history of using bitcoin withdrawal fee to make money from their customers.

2004  Economy / Exchanges / Binance is withdraws from Canada on: May 12, 2023, 10:50:23 PM
It was OKX before, now Binance will stop providing exchange services to Canadians. It is because Binance is not able to meet the new regulatory policy concerning stable coins.

https://twitter.com/binance/status/1657099651210969088?t=iyxq7EHvzHsRxxZKgjlpRA&s=19

If you are from Canada, it is better for you to move you coins out of Binance.

The same reason OKX withdrew from Canada: To OKX Canadian users

Imgur is no more recommendable and bringing error while uploading bbcode images. Use https://www.talkimg.com/ for uploading images. One of the Bitcointalk members created it.

Or use https://imgbb.com

Try talking.com
What is that ? Does it predict the bitcoin's next big move ? Or you just being sarcastic Cheesy
LoyceMobile wrote that because imgur images are having error issue on this forum and people are advised to use the uploading image site created by one of our members. Theymos recommend that also. Later your image appeared.

The imp. support for me is 26500 (on daily candlesticks) . Below this, its all impulsive candles made to the upside with not much support upto 20k. Im afraid if it will do a free fall to 20k again.
That is true, it is what I think too, but nobody can know the price in long term. I will be happy to buy again at $20000, and I will be looking for all-time-high.
2007  Economy / Speculation / Re: High tx fee has historically marked the sell-off. Is this time different?? on: May 12, 2023, 02:02:35 PM
I've always seen that whenever the bitcoin tx fee soars sky high, it marks the beginning of a new sell-off cycle. Are we going to repeat it again this time? Who is to blame ? Pepe sh*t ? Ordinals ? Check the image below for reference. I'd like to know what ppl think about this.
What I think about it is that it is normal for bitcoin price to fall. If it continues, $20000 will be a strong buying price. I do not care of what cause the fall because the fall is not massive. Bitcoin is still above $26000.

What is interesting me to speculate on now is if bitcoin can go below $20000 again or not.
2008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto VS Fiat Online Gambling as per Google trends on: May 12, 2023, 01:33:51 PM
USD is not only the fait that is existing. It is not only the fiat on many international gambling sites. There are many local fiat gambling sites too. If I should compare, I think fiat is still leading.

People are also using stable coins like USDT and other coins to gamble too. That is the reason those coins are listed among the coins you can use to gamble on crypto gambling sites.
2009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Understanding the Basics of Trading in the Cryptocurrency Market on: May 12, 2023, 08:51:49 AM
This point is most important to pay attention to because it involves the centralization of exchanges which do not have a safety factor in protecting the assets we have, especially for day traders who place large capital on certain exchanges in trading. Because there are no guarantees when we trade on an exchange, our assets are left there for a long time.
Why leaving your asset on a centralized exchange for a long time? That is not right because of hack issue. As a trader, I noticed that I keep stable coin most of the time. If you have stable coin, you can withdraw as low as $0 to $0.3 on many exchanges. If you want to trade, you open a position. After you close the position opened, you can move your money back to a noncustodial wallet.
2010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin on: May 12, 2023, 07:29:07 AM
This is not the problem of bitcoin, but the problem with your government that disabled internet in your country. You can use Starlink instead of relying on local service providers.

Elon Musk's Starlink finally registered in Pakistan to roll out internet services. ISLAMABAD – Elon Musk's famous satellite broadband provider Starlink has reportedly registered to operate and provide internet services in Pakistan.
2011  Economy / Exchanges / Security risk notice: Google Authenticator's cloud sync feature on: May 12, 2023, 07:02:58 AM
OKX sent me an email today, about the risk of using Google 2FA with cloud sync feature. That it is very risky because it is not end-to-end encrypted.

Quote
Security risk notice: Google Authenticator's cloud sync feature

We'd like to inform you of a potential security risk for Google Authenticator users. Google Authenticator's cloud sync feature is not end-to-end encrypted, and poses a high security risk if you use it to secure your OKX account.

Here's what you need to know about this security risk:

- Google Authenticator stores your private keys used to generate one-time codes every 30 seconds, and is used for two-factor authentication
- When the cloud sync feature is turned on, Google backs up your private keys without encrypting them behind an additional passphrase
- This means that a malicious attack on your Google account will not only leave your passwords vulnerable, but your private key too. This allows hackers to log in to all your accounts with two-factor verification, including your OKX account.

We strongly recommend turning off the cloud sync feature and keeping the private key on your device, or switching to authenticator apps that encrypt your private key when storing it on the cloud.

At OKX, our top priority is the safety of your account and funds. For any further questions or concerns, please reach out to customer support for help.

Regards,
OKX Team

I will not advice you to just turn off the syncing feature on Google authenticator, it is better you go and activate another 2FA codes on your different exchanges and wherever you are using 2FA. Do not use Google authenticator again. There are better 2FA apps.

Those are better authenticators. I will suggest Aegis for Android and Tofu for iOS.
2012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 11, 2023, 11:11:46 PM
Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Also that the budget on gambling weekly should not be higher than 2 to 5% of the gambler weekly income.

Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Gambling should be for fun. It should not be what someone should consider to give a break for, but to be done at a very short period of time weekly.

Gamblers should not chase losses too
2013  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Importants of PSYCHOLOGY in a trader on: May 11, 2023, 11:10:49 AM
Overcoming greed is most important thing in trading. Just use the amount of money that you are able to afford to lose for trading. Do not use leverage that can lead to fast liquidation of your trading fund. Going less than 2x leverage can be better.

Do you know that some people are good traders but they continue losing because of greed.

In addition, a trader should not be addicted. Have something recreational that you are doing. Do not let trading take your time in a way it will become a problem for you.
2014  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance announced LN integration on: May 11, 2023, 10:45:26 AM
Sometimes I think things like whats happening with the clogged network are needed to force the already existing technologies  such as lightning network (LN) to be integrated in all these platforms to compliment ease of use, otherwise commendable job by Binance hope other exchanges do the same asap!
Commendable by Binance when many exchanges are supporting bitcoin lightning network. I do not want to be posting the same thing, you can see the lists of exchanges that are supporting lightning network on the below link

Binance and Coinbase are getting money from bitcoin transaction fee. Binance has altcoins chain which they are using to deceive people to think that they are bitcoin, but they are not bitcoin, they are only pegged with bitcoin price, they are altcoins.
2015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption for Bitcoin Advances amidst High Network Fee on: May 11, 2023, 10:32:19 AM
I understood but my post is to help you get a point that compare transaction fee at different times in USD is non-sense. It only makes sense if at two different times, Bitcoin has same price in USD.

In this comparison, between 2023 and 2021, Bitcoin has two different prices and the difference is very big. Big enough to make the comparison is invalid. Transaction fee can be $20 but if Bitcoin price is $60,000 in 2021, you had to spend less satoshi for your transaction than in 2023 when price is only about $30,000.
Despite that you are making a valid point, you are getting it wrong. This thread is about bitcoin adoption that continues despite increase in bitcoin transaction fee, you do not have to take it to another direction. All I meant is that bitcoin adoption continues in the past even when mempool was congested and people were paying high fee at the time in the past.
2016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption for Bitcoin Advances amidst High Network Fee on: May 11, 2023, 10:26:52 AM
This is not the first time that bitcoin is facing high fee issue, it happened in February 2021
This time is worse if you look at fee in satoshi you have to spend for your transaction. In 2021, you did not have to spend 300 or 400 sat/vbyte to get confirmation quickly like days ago.
After 2021 congestion, the fee I did used until what happened recently has been less than 10 sat/byte. I did used 1 sat/vbytes most of the time until what happened recently. I am not saying what is happening recently is not worse than that time, but 2021 was the last mempool congestion that I experienced. Do not get me wrong.

Have you understood that. What I mean is that there were mempool congestion in the paste, but bitcoin adoption continues.
2017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption for Bitcoin Advances amidst High Network Fee on: May 11, 2023, 09:56:07 AM
This is not the first time that bitcoin is facing high fee issue, it happened in February 2021 and it lasted for almost two months until April when the mempool was not congested as it dropped abruptly to 1 sat/vbyte. Bitcoin adoption continues.

What that happened recently did not even take up to weeks. The mempool got to over 500 sat/vbyte and it has dropped to 42 sat/vbyte. Nevertheless, this shouldn't affect bitcoin adoption.
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another betting fraud in Brazil - part 2 on: May 11, 2023, 02:13:50 AM
Ah! What is fixing matches becoming? It is even getting beyond fixing matches, like this one:

Quote
Santos defender Eduardo Bauermann is accused of receiving at least 50,000 reais ($10,000) to get a yellow card in a match against Aval last year, according to the documents.

Player are getting bribed.

I will not be betting more than EPL, La Liga, Seria A, Bundesliga and Lique 1 in France. I bet on Brazilian Seria A, Seria B and some other leagues and cups in Brazil. I can not trust this kind of leagues again.
2019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make Bitcoin anonymous ? on: May 10, 2023, 10:38:00 PM
It is better you should use a mixer for it if you do not want anyone to link the coin to you. If you do not want to use Coinjoin or centralized mixer, you can exchange the coin for monero and exchange it back to bitcoin. But I will prefer mixers.
2020  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Off-chain mixers on: May 10, 2023, 11:53:47 AM
I am searching for off-chain type of mixer/échanger service. Any recommendations for moi?
There is nothing called offchain mixers because there is no bitcoin mixer that is using lightning network which is the offchain network.

Did not ChipMixer offer private keys direct with mixes? I was searching for services similar.
Chipmixer is not an offchain mixer. If you want a similar mixer that offers private key like Chipmixer, use Whirlwind.

Other than exchanging private keys with other people(which no one here will recommend you'd do), probably the closest to your description would be to use non-KYC exchanges to mix your coins. Not sure what the best option is, but probably KuCoin? DYOR.
Kucoin is a centralized exchange. It is better to use a decentralized exchange like Bisq. It is good to exchange bitcoin to a privacy coin like monero and exchange the monero back to bitcoin.
