20181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was robbed from my alt coins wallets - Extremely important - Be Cautious on: November 27, 2013, 04:31:43 PM

THCoin? That was your first mistake there. This is why It's a bad idea to download new coins that spring up out of nowhere.
20182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LiteCoins on Ebay selling for silly money. on: November 27, 2013, 04:18:58 PM
Most cryptos have always gone for silly money on ebay for largely the points FrictionlessCoin mentioned, plus buying them on ebay with paypal is so much easier for newbs. They've always had a premium price on there, but it's getting ridiculous now. People are actually paying multiple times there worth in some cases.

By wiggling my dick. I suggest we all wiggle in unison.
20185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin will hit the $1000USD mark before the day ends! on: November 27, 2013, 04:00:04 PM
would it recommended to buy a bitcoin now? on Coinbase, it takes 4 business days (so on Dec. 4 you get your bitcoin?)...that's risky huh?

Don't buy on a new high. Give it a day or two and see where it's at then. When It hit 900 last week it quickly plummeted back down soon after.

20187  Economy / Economics / Re: Naked Capitalism article on: November 27, 2013, 03:44:57 PM
I don't understand how the USG not doing anything will harm the 'legitimacy' of the currency. Whether fiat or crypto, currency is only worth what people are prepared to pay or exchange it for. The price is only volatile at the moment as BTC along with all other cryptos are still essentially in their infancy. The rocketing price should hopefully taper-off and steady out at some point in the future and that'll make things a hell of a lot easier for mainstream acceptance, and for those people or businesses who got in early are probably gonna have one big smile on their face - well, or a frown depending if the markets go the opposite haha.

Do we have a website ranking the alternative coins?

Coinmarket cap has the top 37 so far and is worth bookmarking and keeping an eye on : http://coinmarketcap.com/
20189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin will hit the $1000USD mark before the day ends! on: November 27, 2013, 03:12:55 PM
It's already there and rising.

20190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Greed kills or simple rules for your success on: November 27, 2013, 03:05:44 PM

- Never spend more than you afford to lose. It may kill you. This is the main rule.

- Never treat bitcoin as get rich quick scheme. Get ready to wait at least a year before you see gains.

First is standard, and I agree with the first half of the second point, but I've made 8 times my money in less than three months. People could still get rich in the same amount of time now, but then I'd refer back to your first point.

20193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your biggest Bitcoin mistakes? on: November 27, 2013, 11:55:41 AM
My biggest mistake is not buying enough. I then made the same mistake with Litecoins, and then with Feathercoins haha.
20194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: November 27, 2013, 11:44:38 AM
Okay....So I'm probably going to be shooting myself in the foot here, but I'm praying to god for a chance this will work.

Here's the deal. Yes, I'm new to the forum. YES, I'm new to mining. Yes! I have no reputation on this site at all, and for all you know I could be some random scammer....All I can do is hope that some of you will have a little bit of faith in the human race.

I'm a 24 year old married man who recently lost his job, and I could really use some help from anyone who can offer anything. My wife and I have been together since I was 18, and we have worked hard for everything we have. Our son was diagnosed with autism, and while not as severe as it could be, there are still many medical bills piled up to deal with. My wife is hard at work and looking at a promotion. We also have a insurance check coming in the next month, but the problem is I need some help to pay my mortgage on time. I'm sending this call out to anyone and everyone who can help. I've posted on my facebook, google+ and called every friend and relative I can for help.

EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!!

Once our insurance comes in, I will be more than happy to try and repay as many of you as I can. I know this sounds bad, but guys, I'm literally begging for my families sake.

Feel free to message me if you want details, or if you think you can help in anyway at all. I hate to sound desperate, but I am.

Thank you for your time

I was made redundant too recently, can I has some money?

You can try earning some BTC by checking out the services thread or selling some stuff on here. You can earn money by renting your sig space and earning BTC for your forum posts.
20195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: November 27, 2013, 11:39:09 AM
What's the criteria for new currencies to be added to the list?
20196  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are the chances for the price to reach 5000$ by the end of 2014? on: November 27, 2013, 11:11:00 AM
It's very possible that it will hit $5000, but any effort to guess how much BTC is going to be worth later today or tomorrow is pure speculation.
20197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can it be earning BTC from just ads and faucets on: November 27, 2013, 10:17:29 AM
You're better off going to altcoin faucets, at least they have the opportunity to rise like bitcoin has

Do you have any links to any altcoin faucets that pay out a decent amount? This is a good idea, but not if they're paying out 0..00000001 of something that is already worth hardly anything haha. Be best sticking with BTC faucets overwise.

20199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: infinitecoin almost fully mined! on: November 27, 2013, 09:57:50 AM
The wallet for this never syncs and doesn't even show your funds for many people.

And why the hell was it even called infinitecoin? It will be interesting to see what happens when all the coins are mined though.
20200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know anyone in the REAL WORLD who has bought bitcoin? on: November 27, 2013, 09:35:28 AM
I haven't seen a store that takes it, and everyone I talk to thinks it's "risky" (which I don't agree with).
It is incredibly risky. The price of Bitcoin could crash to near zero at any moment and it's far from certain that it would necessarily recover. I think Bitcoins are a pretty good investment (though now is a particularly dangerous time to buy) but to deny that it's very, very risky is madness.

But the opposite is also true. Bitcoin is rising in value daily and could skyrocket any time. The risk may be worth the gamble to them.
