Could you explain this new feature?
It's a testnet to test new features. I think he means Asset Exchange

Does anyone else love the fact that Doge is trading $14mil a day? At least it shows the crypto community has a sense of humor. That is going be one massive crash and burn.
I don't think we can underestimate the permanence of DOGE. It traded over half as much as BTC today, 8 times NXT's healthy volume. This is not a joke anymore. It should get the lions share of the speculative frenzy money and hopefully reduce NXT volatility, but ever heard of the "network effect"? Basically, once something becomes popular, it reinforces itself and becomes more popular because it is popular. It has already surpassed LTC and since it is technically essentially LTC, it could just take its place. Since it costs so little, people spend it a lot more freely and the Jamaican bobsled team is going to the olympics due to DOGE. Pure marketing with essentially no tech can be quite successful. The fact that DOGE traded 30%+ of its entire marketcap in one day means something, I'm just not sure what it means... Clearly there is a lot of new money flowing into NXT and DOGE and it is coming from the other coins. Now we just need to followthrough with all the tech NXT promises and as DOGE goes toward LTC marketcap, NXT will go toward BTC marketcap. James +100 JAMES IS SPOT ON....its a good thing in a way DOGE will kill many other Altcoins...NXT is something different so we will continue to grow....SOMEONE SHOULD SETUP NXT/DOGE GATEWAY inside NXT ASSET EXCHANGE

Ok. Let me check my schedule...
20th - Implement mining in Lakshmi 21st - Test JS-implementations of NRS crypto algo, deploy NRS with Asset Exchange to the testnet 22nd - Resolve some issues assigned to me in Jira 23rd - Implement transaction handling in Lakshmi 24th - Review Account Control code 25th - Fix bugs in Account Control code 26th - Day-off
Well, I could do VS review on 26th, then bug fixes and testing... Reply
C-f-B: would you let me know when you start testing the asset exchange functionality?
I'd like to participate. I have my API implementation ( and can quickly adapt it), and also I have a background in algotrading with futures on the cme.
I believe I could contribute. cheers -l8orre

Why is not anyone creating localnxtcoin.com or localnxt.com? Domain name is not even being squatted? This can be our first worldwide nxt/fiat gateway.Just like https://localbitcoins.com/It should be easy to implement with automated escrow service. And an internal rating system. If you can create an EXCHANGE, i'm pretty sure you can handle "localnxt". Dev should set a nice bounty for this. Agreed? it can work

Yesssss - can't wait until 21st. I want to test the asset exchange. Would be fun enough to forget all the voting and funding discussion for a while.
Then u should read Asset Exchange APIs. We don't have a client yet. there is something in the works...

I can code a client by the end of today for macs.

how can we make sure only Nxters are voting?
Edit: Account numbers as passwords to the site.
If you have a valid account, you're a nexter by definition. No need for any passwords. Authorization token covers everything. I prefer a separate voting site to using AM function. No need to bloat the blockchain and we can incorporate the voting site into the clients. what about DDOS of the site? how to stop this?
|
|
|
So you wouldn't use AM for this?
AM is too obscure and "techy". We need a nice, clean site with all the issues and votes on display. There's also no reason to load blockchain, when it can be avoided. Also, asking users to specify various addresses is just too confusing. It should be: came, saw a post, clicked a button, copy/pasted token, done. how can we make sure only Nxters are voting? Edit: Account numbers as passwords to the site.

I can do this, give me some time :-) (Later today)
Great! So these are basic requirements: * List of posts. * A form to post a new issue to vote, with a text field and URL. Maybe optional deadline. * Each post can have up to 5 or 10 vote options, similar to forums. * So several vote options are shown to the user. * Each "vote" button asks to sign some short random id for this post+option with authorization token (would also be nice to explain how to do it). * The system then gets user address from API, gets age and balance, checks it and saves in DB, attached to this particular post and vote option. * Show list of all voters for this post with their votes. Would be nice if the poster could also define the minimal balance and age required. So you wouldn't use AM for this? no

i strongly support this. best idea yet.
I support it also although I actually would like to see people have to *pay* to vote (as I don't this has really been tried before and could be an interesting experiment). no need to pay.....many Nxters have only a few Nxt and we want every stakeholder to vote.
|
|
|
What if we just make a simple site, where you can post an issue to vote.
Then people can vote by using the authorization token.
They addresses are checked for age and maybe some balance threshold and added for everyone to see, so it can be transparent.
It won't be perfect, but will be hell of a lot better than forum polls.
Anyone up to it?
i strongly support this. best idea yet. it could easily be linked to all the various Nxt forums. Edit: To protect against non- Nxters voting you would put NXT Public key as identifier....only 1 IP address & 1 public key per vote.

continue Edit: you could allow an IP address to only vote once...also you couldn;t vote if you used TOR or similar service...IP address would have to be visible. ...to control for only humans you would need to answer a small question before your vote got submitted.

Great idea. Let anon do it and see the results. Maybe it would be the same.
I think it might be a good experiment to do anyway. whats to stop anyone sending nxt from multiple accounts....we have the same problem

Made a starting point homepage for newcomers: http://www.mynxt.orgIf you find wrong information or have some suggestions, please PM me. Thanks! I hope you like it! (registered a new nick on bitcointalk for this) Nice....get in touch with Salsacz pls

Why?
I have other things to do. We'll miss you. I hope you can stay if possilbe. the community are accustomed to see you around. I think he would still be a stakeholder and working on project Kharon.....there is also Lakshmi
