Compensating users for their attention is certainly better than expecting their labor for free. This is very powerful, GG is doing more with less friction. Imagine if each Gems is worth one dollar, its userbase would reach millions where you could basically earn serious money per day. In netnox case he would get $183 per day just by airdrop. We are seing that GG model is working pretty well, i mean its reaching 100k users already. Please quote that correctly because I didn't write that. I was quoting Synereo's white paper. I fixed it above. My point is that paying users for interacting on social networks, or paying them to watch ads, is not a viable economic model. I provided a link to my post at the Synereo thread that explains why I think so. GetGems is not reaching 70k users. That is the count of downloads and downloads doesn't equal users. We'd need some statistics on actual usership, e.g. how many minutes per day using the app, etc.. I'd expect roughly 5% of downloads convert to users if the app is very good and has a compelling use case. Additionally, the value of Gems is irrelevant if there is not a compelling reason for the users to trade the tokens with each other. There is no way investors in the token are going to finance you to give away $183 per day to each user just for being in a daily airdrop. That is pure fantasy. You have to actually create an ecosystem. You can't just drop money and expect an ecosystem to magically emerge. There must be network efforts. You are talking about targeting adults, adults is not gg's target audience and i dont think adults are thriving social media worldwide. For some users even $1 in airdrop is great, why would i use WhatsApp if i can have all my contacts in GetGems (which is compatible to Telegram) and get rewarded for my activity? The post I linked to, also referred to the youth. And my point was that ads pay less to target the youth because they have less money to spend (and if they have more to spend they don't need your $1 airdrop). IMHO, you are missing the point that users don't join social networking for chump change income. They join it for other larger motivations. We are discussing those motivations in the Synereo thread. Thanks. You are right, an ecosystem needs to emerge and thats whats slowly maturing right now. Last update was 10k downloads in 20 days, as the ecosystem grows things will go even faster. If the top Messengers are reaching marketcaps in billions i don't see why gg can't reach 100 million or a big player tries to buy it. It is afterall the most advanced messenger, im not even talking about its reward value program. Just the fact that it allows you to send money worldwide in the context of conversation makes is worth to look at.

GEMZ developers,
Koinify is closing but the GEMZ app is not yet trustworthy for dealing with large amounts of GEMZ. Those who invested in the presale have no safe alternative to move their GEMZ from Koinify. I described in an earlier post how I lost all my presale GEMZ to the app, now other users are running into similar problems. Please provide the early investors with a temporary safe way to store GEMZ until the app is truly ready. Even a simple keypair generator could serve this purpose for now.

I think the app needs more attention to the giftcards, as a newbie i would like to know if they are available in my country, so before purchasing maybe in the description this can be mentioned. Also is it possible to add fastfood coupons? Like mcdonalds or burger king, lot of users would use that, since the airdrop will be raised and who doesnt like free food.
There seems to be no starbucks coupons anymore, checking if the giftcards are available one in a while would be nice.

Where I live you can buy 2 coffees every day with that  I'm at $2.56 per airdrop now, a mcdonalds/burger king coupon is needed imo, then it will take of even faster i think. |

We want everybody to enjoy GetGems as much as possible, so apart of our auto referral mechanism, which couples a referring user to the user which installed the app, we will allow anyone without an already defined inviter, to choose a friend from their contact list as the inviter. The selection will be only available once and can not be changed, so pick your inviter wisely. This is pretty powerful, not everyone wants to install through referral link. This way you can just forward them to the app store and once they install they can just select you as the inviter. Every 24 hours we add the number of ad consumers, the number of ads consumed and we distribute the Gems paid by the advertiser amongst the ad consumers. Do new users know this? Imo it's neccessary to notify users that they will get paid for receiving ads. I don't think they know this feature. |

What bothers me,
c0's % of the premine should be priced at $1.00 per decred. The price "at which this project may be able to sustain itself at 10% subsidy"

But then c0's guaranteed 400,000 decred PoS awards in year 1 MUST also be considered in the "compensation package".
This 400,000 "free and guaranteed" PoS is more than the dev fund receives in year 1, yet is totally unaccounted for in the c0 "compensation package"
c0 "imply" they are not seeking profit here. They just say they want "compensation for bring up costs" = $420,000. ok fair enough.
But, c0's "compensation package" is structured to produce 3x that figure = "compensation for bring up cost + 200% profit"
(100% profit at launch + 100% profit in yr 1. based on decred price "at which this project may be able to sustain itself at 10% subsidy")
So, a fairer "compensation package for bring up costs" would be something like,
TOTAL received by c0 at end year1 (premine + PoS) = 420,000 decred.
(ALL the premine/distribution/PoS figures would need changing)
Just let Decreds concensus process take care of new ideas and changes, it's not Bitcoin where PoW miners can easily block a consensus change. |

Why would anyone invest on those other crapto coins that are worth pennies, no media attention, no support, and you look at their forums and no posts for days. Everyone gotta quit buying all these inferior crapto coins and stick to the ones pushing Technology...aka ETH or BTC. THAT IS IT.
Dont sound like bitcoin cults, it makes people hate u more which is bad for ethereum, i trade ether aswell but there are coins that serve a different niche and target audience like getgems which has more users than any other alt. Price isnt everything. |

- Android total downloads grow by 100% since November 24, 2015.
- 60,924 downloads on both platforms.
- 1,090 reviews on Android and we are very close to moving to 4.7.
- We are also working on a big update for iOS to catch up with all the Android features and waiting for approval for the iOS Gems Keyboard.
- We will also try to integrate the keyboard to the main app.
- A lot of work ahead, the team is working hard.

Seems the pace kept up from the 10k the precious 30 days, now even more around 12k in a month. Sessions have increased alot now 800k previously was 300k.
