In April noone will care about the clones. If i'm not mistaken you mentioned TF will take 6 months to be fully implemented. |

NEX is a joke but a potentially deadly one if we do not respond quickly to its legitimate criticisms.
His criticism is not based on real things. PS: Once we have TF ready we can change transaction limit from 4.25 to 1000 transactions per second. 200x increase in TPS will lead to the same increase in price. so r u saying he would have to invent TF himself to compete? Will TF feature be released? as this is a feature & not part of source?...i could be wrong in my understanding. |

oh man, this is extrem cool stuff, while it seems some people taking this as a prototype/joke coin i see this more as a powerfull new component to complete

Well, I faced a moral dilemma and would like to ask for an advice...
FrictionlessCoin created a thread dedicated to NEX (descendant of NXT). I had a lot of fun reading that thread but I suspect some people took NEX seriously. The problem is that if FC waits till April when Nxt source code becomes completely open, he still won't be able to generate a valid genesis block, coz Nxt uses a crypto algo modified by BCNext (this is why we collected 10 BTC for the audit). I support all cryptocurrencies and would like to help him to create a new genesis block, competition is good for the whole crypto-community. But this could look not very good to guys who own NXTs...
What would u do?
If you want to support competition and alternative clones of Nxt, then, after the source code becomes open in April, the tools or know-how needed to generate a genesis block should also be published. But there is no reason to personally help FC in particular. Based on his attitude, I just ignore him. I doubt any good developers would want to work on a project led by someone with his personality, so NEX will get nowhere, if it ever launches. +100 |

The point of having freely available source is to allow both audits and changes. If the source is available, but unusable, then it really isn't free. I say give him the tools he needs to generate a genesis block. I argue against it |

Why can't we wait until we have an open source client like nexern, then start with marketing? We need to point people to an easy one click install, otherwise people will come and then leave confused. Also, we need to focus on several core features so we have something to market.

I would like to have a nice brief article explaining Nxt, Features, POS, and then at the bottom, a download link for one of the Open Source Clients. You can't throw arbitrary marketing ideas around and expect funding, be more specific. We need to wait until we have a one click client, or we will lose people forever.
We have tons of articles already....but yes this should be FINISHED ASAP!! Then why are you so adamant on Marketing funding? Because it is essential....but it takes time to prepare & execute |

I agree with James that we need some marketing , but for more techies and for more early adopters (for those that missed most of the "trains" like bitcoin litecoin, they can get on this bus), not the end user the end user isn’t ready for nxt neither nxt for the end user ... doggie coin? well ok let doggy coin take the dumbs! we will take the devs and the marketers, nxt is already success ! we are in the stage of INNOVATION , were everybody that wants to get in needs to show some efforts to code code code for the community,contribute, provide goods and services...
So please we are not dogy we are NXT, decentralized assets, exchange... and please promote in the places where developers need work (like Indian forums for example) this is what we need , developers & marketers.
One of the things marketing at this point can do, is communicate that we are still beta. Much dissapointment and people leaving can be had from just doing that. Get out the message that we are innovating and create a buzz that people will want to jump into as soon as it's possible for them. That's what I mean by creating a wave. You want people to wánt it. I also think we should do regular reports to the community what we are doing and have done. Results. FOCUS ON CHINA! use the new exchange....Educate |
