So....
Will we see further payouts? And if yes, when?
Right now Zhou Tong is watching what kind of reaction the community will have to his theft. If it turns out he is charged or beaten up, he may give back some of the money - but he has already spent the majority of it on personal debts, such as mortgages for his family. He could at least start to gather all available funds in one address (so we can see what is there) and hand it over to Bitconica as soon as they figured out their responsibilities. Why? Are those the actions of a dishonorable thief?

We've all seen the evidence that Zhou Tong is guilty. Even he admitted the evidence was correct, because he tried to deflect it to a "mysterious friend".

I apologize for my attitude, and apologize in advance if I am wrong (which there is a substantial chance of, I admit). But right now, there is insufficient evidence to convince me that Zhou Tong is guilty.
Actually, all the evidence points towards Zhou Tong. There is insufficient evidence that Chen Jianhai is guilty. All we have is Zhou's desperate lies.

I need written instruction from Bitcoinica to do anything related to the stolen funds. I don't have possession of them but even if I do, I don't have anyway to send them to Bitcoinica at the moment (no one with authority has sent me at least a Bitcoin address yet).
According to Bitcoinica you didn't have a claim. So perhaps you need your lawyer to write to Bitcoinica LP.
I don't think she's going to use a lawyer. And you have some nerve trying to hide behind the law after stealing from us. Maybe you should start picking out wheelchairs?

So, it's really not necessary to discuss my name.
You better get used to invasion Zhou, cause it's going to get a lot worse. Where I come from we don't let people steal half a million dollars and get away with it. That's all I'm going to say about that anymore, since I'm not going to incriminate myself further.

^ Yeah, stalking an innocent man is the best solution here I'm sure.

i seriously doubt Zhou could've "discovered" all this info and forced a confession in less than 6h from Aurumexchanges Public announcement.
Why not? Once he confronted the guilty party they obviously became deeply afraid and would be more than willing to try and find a solution. Had the evidence of the e-mail break in been shared with Zhou Tong earlier the true culprit would have been discovered earlier, you are pointing the finger in the wrong direction here. It was actually 69 minutes from the point Zhou said he would look into it, to when he wrote his very detailed post about what had happened. Writing that post alone would have taken 20 minutes! That's a very short window to contact someone you haven't spoken to in at least 6 months, convince them to admit to the theft and give you all the details about how it was done. Also - if they were "deeply afraid", why did they only offer up 20k bitcoins? Wouldn't they have returned everything that was stolen, esp if they were rich?

Bitlane, did you say something, I can't hear you?
Click on the "Show/Hide" link to the right...

But, so what? What are you guys trying to figure out?
+1 If he did spend the majority of the stolen coins on personal expenses, like mortgages, knowing who he is and where he lives will be very important.

Whoops! forgot to enable 2factor on MtGox
2factor WAS enabled on MtGox originally, but turned off before the hack occurred.

Which phone numbers are the same? here is what i got off of translation after you click the link to the site you quoted above..
One page back. The phone number listed on nameterrific.com and the number Zhou said was his, is also listed on the whois for the domain.

|

Dude, how do you know Zhou Tong over there isn't like Brad Smith here? Because the phone number is the same.

On the contrary, have no point have I attempted to deny access to legal support. All I've said is that I think you're more likely to see a return by non-legal means.
BB.
I like that sentence. It would be interesting for a change if this could be settled somehow without conventional government involvement. Somebody in an unrelated post was suggesting a new nation based on Bitcoin. Is this not an opportunity to take responsibility into our own hands? So what do you suggest? Rampant theft and if you get caught you return the funds, no harm no foul?

What's more likely? Zhou was the victim of a stupendous setup by a person who we have no reason or evidence to believe exists, thus absolving Zhou of blame, or that he creating this persona for that purpose? This is the classic behavior of cheating juveniles.
Exactly. "I'm holding it for a friend" is the oldest excuse in the book. Zhou spent the 69 minutes typing up the long post, and now he is sitting back seeing what suckers believe it.

Anyone remember one of the earlier hacks when the hacker was in irc giving away free coins from the heist?
Anyone remember Zhou giving away 5,000 btc to anyone who asked? Appears to be his M.O. Sorry, but the evidence against him is overwhelming. At this point, he has no choice but to refund 100% of the money he stole, otherwise people are going to be coming to see him. Hopefully he will learn a life lesson out of this - DON'T STEAL.

If you go to a judge after publicly humiliating Zhou Tong, I am pretty sure the judge will throw the case out. If you had wanted to go to law enforcement in the first place, you should have done that prior to posting any public statement in the first place.
I doubt it. Making a public statement about him (even a humiliating one) doesn't make Zhou Tong less guilty of theft, so he would still be punished.
