2081  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Does gate.io ban any country ? on: November 05, 2021, 10:18:29 AM
gate.io is a good exchange as it list most of the newly listed coins which are low caps. It's easy to buy them from exchange rather than the uniswap (for tokens build on ethereum) or pancakeswap (for tokens build on binance smart chain).

I want to know if they accept users from all countries or do they have any ban country list. I want to specially know if Pakistan is in the allowed list ?

Pakistan is not banned and you can easily sign-up to take full advantage of their exchange. But you will probably have to go through a KYC process.

Their signup pages says,

Quote
Citizens and residents of Washington State(U.S.A), New York State(U.S.A), Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, the Government of Venezuela, Crimea are not supported.

I don't see Pakistan is in their list.
2082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What game do you prefer in gambling? on: November 05, 2021, 05:15:23 AM
I've done gambling using Dice, Sportsbetting, Poker.

But haven't placed many bets in Sportsbetting and Poker but mostly Dice on a well-known gambling website in past but not now.

Anyways what do you prefer most!

Sports - Live casino or Dice

Crash! Crash! Crash!

Crash games are the best working game for me! Only in crash games, I have historically seen lower losses and higher profitability. Just need to control our greed and we should be good.

I have tried many other games like dice, flips etc. But in reality nothing worked in my favor except crash games. I was only able ti make money from this and everywhere else I lost money!

2084  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs are not cryptocurrencies on: November 04, 2021, 03:07:36 PM
People who believes that angels are real, only they will believe that CBDCs are cryptocurrencies. CBDCs are only digital representation of fiat currencies. If you are using debit cards and net banking in your daily life, CBDCs are going to offer same experience only!

But it has additional benefits for the government. It's a great surveillance tool. Your financial privacy will be gone for ever. Government will be able to track every transaction that you do and every singe money you have earned.
2085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan believes Bitcoin is Overpriced on: November 04, 2021, 01:29:55 PM
JPM CEO is a known bitcoin hater. So no wonder that his bank will come out with such ridiculous statements. If we had to believe Jemie few years back, bitcoin wouldn't have reached this point.

So the best course of action we can do is to ignore such jokers who were born to criticize everything new. JPM handles trillions of dollars remittance every year and earn fat commissions from it. With bitcoin, you don't need anyone to settle your remittance which is challenging JPM's dominance. So it's no wonder, they are trying to deframe bitcoin.
2086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's so “convincing” about Craig Wright? on: November 04, 2021, 10:23:49 AM
I read tweets about bitcoin since I follow mostly bitcoin related accounts, but I have to admit; there's a ton of BSV supporters. I mean, many, not just a bunch of bots or Craig and his BSV bitcointalk accounts. (Whose topic I still don't get why it isn't deleted)

Seriously, just search for “Craig Wright” in Twitter.

I don't understand what's the incentive of those people on continuing this propaganda. Do they really consider their arguments valid? Are they convinced that Craig is Satoshi even though there are numerous accusations that suggest otherwise? Do they get paid for doing it somehow? I haven't ever met a person who supports it in real life, but I can imagine they'll have some sort of disorder to do it.

To be honest, BSV was not a bad currency if I look at it individually. Craig tried to solve couple of issues that is present in bitcoin today. However, the way he has marketed BSV, didn't go well with the community.

He claimed himself as Satoshi and then claimed the copyright on bitcoin whitepaper and then tried to launch his own currency as a magical reincarnation of bitcoin.  That's what he did wrong.

If he had marketed his cryptocurrency in some different name without going into the war with the bitcoin community, I am sure it would have been much more successful.
2087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Fungibility Issue on: November 04, 2021, 05:45:07 AM
If bitcoin remained as an underground currency system like it was during its initial days - such issues wouldn't have popped up! However,  since bitcoin is trying to become a mainstream internet currency, it obviously has to follow certain rules and regulations. So this issue is popping up over and over again because now regulatory bodies are seeking information on illegal trades using bitcoin. There are blockchain analysis companies built around such needs like Chainanalysis.

So it's entirely a political game, I would say! When a certain commodity or asset becomes immensely popular, many unwanted eyes usually starts to look at it and brings in eventual problems. The more popular it becomes, the more negative attention it draws. That's it! I see such issues will increase gradually because bitcoin is on the path to growth, so ancillary issues will keep on happening!
2088  Local / India / Re: HDFC sending mail for Crypto Transaction through P2P on: November 03, 2021, 02:05:59 PM
This is not a mailer, rather it's a reply! So if you ask your bank if you are allowed to trade in crypto or not, they will always say No. It's will be same reply from any bank in India. No surprises here!

But I have actually received mailer from IDBI bank regarding the risk of crypto trading and referring bitcoin as scam. It happened back in 2017 during the last crypto price boom. That's what is concerning because it really brings down the reputation of cryptos and creates panic among the common people.
2089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not your vault, not your money. Why some nation-states will HODL Bitcoin. on: November 03, 2021, 12:36:36 PM
That's true! That's how the banking system works and that's why people need cryptocurrency. No doubt about it!

But that brings us to the next question - if a sovereign state wants to avoid such international banking ban, what would be the best solution - adopt an existing cryptocurrency or create a new digital currency system like Petro? I know petro failed but that doesn't mean all other state backed cryptos will fail too!
2090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies in Schools on: November 03, 2021, 07:08:41 AM
Well, financial education is almost non-existent in schools for many countries in the world. In those countries schools and colleges are build to create workers. So they would teach risk management. I personally believe, riak management is something that is needed before they move to teach about cryptocurrencies.

But I believe many universities in first world countries have cryptocurrencies and blockchain in their curriculum. But that is yet to be seen in third world countries, unfortunately!
2091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will police investigate SquidGame token scam and look for the scammers? on: November 03, 2021, 03:29:02 AM
Hello, I am not legal expret, especially for these global things but
do you think that is possible that US police or police from some EU country will be looking for developers of SquidGame token?
I know that it would be difficult case but registrar EuroDNS know their IP adress through which they connected to website server. (Yes they  didn't have to connect from home, but they could)

I think that if they were tracked down, it would be exemplar case for other potential scamers.

What do you think about it?

It's highly unlikely that the scammers were concerned from their home computer. Especially looking at the nature of this scam, I can say the scammers are experienced and are not first timers. So they have probably used multiple layers of identity protection through various routers.

I am not sure if police will take up this case at their own will. But if someone reports it, probably they will. But it requires cyber experts to track them down. We don't know the next course of action but if the police can bring them to justice, that will definitely set an example and I hope it happens!
2092  Economy / Economics / Re: The Largest Crypto Exchanger in Thailand has been acquired by Commercial Bank on: November 02, 2021, 06:25:01 PM
Possibly Thailand is the second Asian nation who is friendly about bitcoin. It's a positive news that a commercial bank has acquired majority stakes in a crypto exchange. I am happy that the general negative perspective about cryptocurrencies is changing - slowly but surely!

I am sure it's a concious decision by the bank because a commercial bank is usually listed in stock market and they can't take decisions out of blue. This decision must have been approved by the shareholders body as well as the regulatory bodies. So it's a positive news!
2093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can SHIB rise to 0.1? on: November 02, 2021, 11:07:51 AM
A few statistics: 8,000 US dollars, 400 days, 5 billion, the most awesome investment. This is SHIB.

Highly unlikely to happen! We are seeing a recent influx of non-sense meme coins in the market but I believe Squid Game coin has tought a lesson to the greedy people already. But you never know.

There are few celebrities batting for Shiba Inu coin. Elon and Vitalik are two prominent faces among them and this coin is just riding on that hype. Once the hype is gone, the money will be gone too. But if the hype continues, no one really knows what would happen!
2094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Squid Game token crashes 99.99% from $2,861 to $0.003475, Twitter account gone on: November 01, 2021, 05:38:05 PM
A complete madness is ongoing in the altcoin market right now which started by Elon and has now become a scammers' paradise. Any random tokens are getting listed on any random swaps and people are buying those craps. Squid game was one of those utter craps. I am happy that it crashed and people loat money. Because people need to understand that these tokens are pure gambling and nothing else. People need to learn the hard way! Craps can't make you a millionaire for sure.

Now even you will find clones of Shiba Inu coins flooding the market.
2095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Gambling increase due to the pandemic, stats, UK on: November 01, 2021, 03:28:49 PM
That is quite expected! Common people with some love for gambling, utilized their new found time by gambling online. That's why we have seen a number of new online casinos started their operations during the pandemic. I believe even people with stressed financial condition, tried their luck on gambling to change their financial condition.

Back in early 2020, I also read about some land based casino group were planning for providing an online experience through VR so that gamblers can play from their homes.

In a nutshell, pandemic time was a net positive for the online gambling market.
2096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What About Dogelon , The next DOGE or SHIBA? on: November 01, 2021, 01:53:40 PM
Token tokens appear with a large supply, this is quite imitating Doge.
I saw that there was 1 token, namely dogelon moon and I got it for free by claiming at https://www.dogelonmoon.com/

What do you think?

The altcoin market is getting filled with shitcoins after the Doge madness started by Elon. We are now seeing random coins on random events which are firing up by few thousand percents in a matter of one hour or so. Even Squid Game inspired tokens are making people millionaire.

This madness needs to stop. These token and shitcoins are dragging down the reputation of crypto market and making it open for the money laundering criminals. Not good at all!
2097  Local / India / Re: Bitbns fixed income plan - quite similar to ponzi! on: November 01, 2021, 10:00:59 AM
Regulation is very much expected in the crypto space considering how crypto exchanges in India are actively campaigning to bring in favorable regulations. However, with such CIS schemes running by bitbns, may actually make the regulatory bodies negative about it.

Collective Investment Schemes are not specifically banned in India. But we have seen SEBI stepped in in the past to discourage people from such schemes. Let's see what happens!
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mastercard and Bakkt Verifone and BitPay on: October 29, 2021, 06:41:13 PM

Odd that 2 large companies that are getting into crypto are having other people do the back end heavy lifting.

Not at all! It's rather wise from the mainly three points,

1. Cost
2. Security
3. Infrastructure

Any big business will always prefer a third party before jumping into a very new technological landscape. Because they required someone to do the ground job while they themselves indulge into marketing and drive revenue. It's just sensible business decision and also helps limiting the risk exposure.

Quote
My theory is that if it works well they are just going to fully take over the crypto businesses and absorb them. If it does not then nothing lost. Wonder what everyone else is thinking.

Highly unlikely to happen! Because when organizations enter such kind of partnerships, there's usually a non-competitive clause included based on certain key performance indicators (KPI). If these KPIs are constantly met, the main organization simply can't exclude their partners and start their own operations. That's usually how such partnerships work.
2099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia doesn't wants its citizens earning with cryptos on: October 29, 2021, 05:46:28 PM
Dmitry Marinichev, a government official under President Vladimir Putin rule revealed in an interview that the country's regulatory position towards cryptocurrency will largely stay prohibitive. According to him, Russia doesn't want its citizens to earn money through cryptocurrency so, regulation will mainly stay the same despite the increase of crypto interest in the country.

This is basically more of the same. Russia trying to tackle cryptos while blinking an eye at the same time.

Not really a shocking news! Last year I believe, Russia placed a rule where they said that crypto miners can continue to mine but they can't receive the mining reward in cryptos. That means you can breathe oxygen but you can't exhale Co2. Hilarious!! Isn't it!

But a communist country is like that only! You can draw examples from China and North Korea. Communists know how to suck the blood without saying that they are sucking the blood! In my personal opinion, Taliban and Communists are same, just the weapons are different!
2100  Local / India / Re: Bitbns fixed income plan - quite similar to ponzi! on: October 29, 2021, 04:41:54 PM
Bitbns offering bitcoin fixed deposits is not a problem till the time they pay back to the people. The problem will start if by any chance Bitbns defaults. A massive outrage will start with a narrative on how bitcoin is a scam. Media and politicians will try to deframe bitcoin rather than the company. Unfortunately, this is how it always happens in India. That's what I am worried about. This will give our Finance minister another chance to bring in a ban.
