1181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Mysteries Of Bitcoin on: October 12, 2022, 03:13:04 AM
If his identity is revealed there will be negative effects on bitcoin, but not to the extent that it is the end of bitcoin, bitcoin will always exist and thrive as long as our needs remain. Satoshi is the creator of bitcoin and he can hold a lot of bitcoins but I guess he can't control bitcoins either, so his presence won't change the decentralized nature of bitcoin either.

I doubt that! There will be a temporary effect on the market which can be negative but that will be recovered faster that we expect. It all depends on the course of actions taken by the enforcement agencies once the identity of real Satoshi is revealed and confirmed. I am sure a lot of enforcement agencies are waiting for this information. So we will see what impact it brings on to the market. But decentralization has its own benefits.

Let's say bitcoin is over, I see it's also the end of the entire crypto market, there's no reason why ethereum or any other cryptocurrency should ever replace bitcoin. Not all deserve to sit in the place of bitcoin, centralized altcoins.

That's never gonna happen! Bitcoin can't be controlled by Satoshi or some agency. No cryptocurrency will ever replace bitcoin till the time it is minable.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the US being too hard on crypto? on: October 11, 2022, 06:05:30 PM
Ever since the Biden administration proposed a regulatory framework for crypto/Blockchain tech, government agencies have been targeting platforms and users more aggressively. First it was the sanctioning of the Tornado.Cash mixer, and now the SEC wants to classify all PoS coins as securities. They seem to be more against Ethereum than Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency for that matter. There was a case between the SEC and Ripple, but thankfully, it didn't turn out to be a huge win for the government agency. Compared to the previous administration, I think the current administration is taking crypto too seriously.

Do you think crypto's ever-rising popularity will lead towards more regulation by the US? Or will things settle up a bit? Do you believe the US is being too hard on crypto? If not, which other country (or countries) is worst? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

US is too hard on everything, globally! Whenever they see an oil-rich country, they send military there to save that country from their own administration like what happened in Iraq Or Syria. The same is happening with crypto.

As charity begins at home, they are first targetting their home users and then they will launch a global attack on crypto companies doing business with US citizens and then the countries with most mining operations.

Please note - the above post is imaginary and any resemblance with the reality is a pure coincidence.

Op, please ensure to always add links for any news you are posting here!

1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2022, 03:27:55 PM
This is an old tweet which doesn't hold much value now. Elon is a strong supporter of cryptocurrency, no doubt about it! But he can't be the sole reason for bitcoin to reach 100k USD. If he had the power of such manipulation, he would have done it by now.

With the power he has, he can definitely bring in a temporary pump into the market. But it's way beyond his power to make it 100k.
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin to be used for micropayments on Twitter? on: October 11, 2022, 10:46:14 AM
I don't see it happening in reality to be honest. Even though Elon is going ahead with this deal, I don't see Doge is being accepted in Twitter. There are multiple regulatory blockers which will make it very difficult for Elon to roll out such things worldwide.

Yes, it may be possible in US and other crypto friendly nations but can't be rolled out worldwide. Also I am not sure if Doge is actually capable of handling such initiatives.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about CBDCs? on: October 10, 2022, 05:23:18 PM
I don't belong to any of these categories! CBDC is a just a digital representation of fiat currency. It will make transacting in fiat more convenient and at the same time it will help the government to crack hard on money laundering kind of stuff. It has no relationship with cryptos and it is also not a threat to cryptocurrencies at all.

However, with CBDC, financial freedom may become a myth.
1187  Economy / Gambling / Re: To what extent do you chase anonymity while gambling? on: October 10, 2022, 12:49:39 PM
Hey guys.
Choosing crypto in casinos has always also to do with more anonimous gambling.
Anyway I'm curious how important is anonimity to you when you pay & play?

I would say it's very very important, at least for me! There are multiple countries in Asia where gambling is legally banned. So there is always a risk factor. So staying anonymous is very important for the gamblers from such countries. No KYC rule 8s very important and that's one of the major decision making factor for many people while choosing a gambling platform.

Whenever, there is a new platform appears in the market, that's the most frequently asked question in this forum whether there is a requirement of KYC or not!
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Censorship resistance is underrated, move to bitcoin and #DeletePaypal on: October 10, 2022, 05:03:15 AM
I think PayPal isn't doing it at their own will. Because such kind of confistication activities can seriously harm the reputation of PayPal as a business. It surely can bring in negative press releases against them which can hurt them as a business.

I believe they are being pressurized by some regulatory bodies where they are headquartered. Because as a privately held company, they can't decide such things and cancel your account at their will. This is my personal take on it.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Earn Token by liking, following sharing and growing your social media account on: October 07, 2022, 05:26:01 PM
Honestly the website looks more like a GPT (get paid to) website where users can perform certain tasks and get paid for that. We have seen hundreds of social media tokens died already so I am not sure what extra it is bringing in to be honest.

Nothing extraordinary! Probably another soon-to-be-died token platform without much vision to generate a serious revenue stream. This kind of websites are not too popular nowadays.
1190  Economy / Economics / Re: More financial sanctions for Russians from EU - But for the Crypto Bans! on: October 07, 2022, 04:24:58 PM
With all these bans and sanctions on Russia, EU is effectively killing themselves. The common people across Europe is understanding it while paying their gas and electricity bills, especially in UK. But that's not the agenda here.

Multiple countries in the world are very much willing to buy cheap Russian oil and Russia has already facilitated them to pay through Rubbles. Couple of weeks back, Russian central bank has started to experiment with cryptos as well. EU has no control there because multiple Asian countries are still buying cheap Russian gas and oil.

Russia must fall and stop the war. But the mistake EU is continuing with all these sanctions and bans, are going to hit themselves hard.
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Vs. CFTC fight over crypto market regulation, What are your thoughts? on: October 07, 2022, 10:40:23 AM
Ideally none should regulate the crypto market in US. If it has to be regulated, a new governing body needs to be form where they can have representatives from both SEC and CFTC. Cryptocurrency doesn't fall under the purview of SEC or CFTC. Also with their own set of old regulations, they will do more harm rather good in crypto market.

It must be a new body or no one else! Crypto is neither a security nor a commodity.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: State-owned Argentina energy company YPF has begun to mine Bitcoin on: October 06, 2022, 05:09:45 PM
It's not a news to cheer about! A state owned company mining bitcoin should not be supported by anyone. If their pilot is successful then you can easily expect multiple other organisations to invest in their own mining facilities. Many private companies can initiate the same. It will effectively centralize the network.

Corporates participating into mining or crypto ecosystem is a threat to decentralised network.
1193  Economy / Gambling / Re: Maybe Yet to be seen? on: October 06, 2022, 02:27:00 PM
Maybe I am not looking enough? That's why I decided to ask you all these questions

1. Is it possible for NFTs to coexist with a crypto-gambling project?

NFT itself is a gambling. Not by nature but investing in NFT is a kind of gambling itself because you never know when you are going to win big or when you are going to loose all. But co-existence within a single platform may not be possible!

Quote
2. What usefulness do you think 🤔 could make NFTs useful for crypto gamblers?

None! There's nothing useful in NFT. Probably some gambling platforms may use a costly NFT as mega jackpot in some of their promos. But that's it!

Quote
3. Is there any real-time ( LIVE ) crypto gambling platform where friends from around the world can come together either through web3 kinda like or just live video to gamble on the platform?

I believe sandbox has similar kind of functionality. But I don't know much about this platform so go ahead and explore!
1194  Economy / Economics / Re: At last, Twitter wins the battle!! on: October 06, 2022, 04:55:25 AM
Elon is a business predator but a strong supporter of internet freedom and cryptocurrency. So personally I think this takeover would have been a blessing for the people who believes in free speech and internet freedom. So I am a little disappointed that deal is now called off. We probably would have seen a very different Twitter if Elon could become the owner of Twitter.

But no worries! Better luck next time!
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there something I don't get about USD possible losing it's value? on: October 05, 2022, 05:27:46 PM
Hey guys, is there any stable coin that supports Chinese currency aka Yen? We have BUSD, USDT, USDC that are backing the United state dollar, what about China's very own currency?

Also what do you think about USD future? Is it possible that USD might lose value on coming months? Will stable coins start to lose it's value? I am holding BUSD for dips on BTC but I still have alot, waiting for 12,000$ per BTC before buying but the scary news about USD losing its cool scares me.

Inflation is nothing new mate! Now the concern here is high inflation.USD and any other currency is bound to loose it's purchasing power. The same will happen for stable coins as well if they are backed by USD or any other currency. However, it works in a different way.

1 BUSD will remain as 1 USD but what you used to purchase with 1 USD, will now be sold at higher than 1 USD. That's how it works! Apparent value will remain same while the pur having power will decrease.

Also don't wait for bitcoin to come down to 12k as it may never happen. Start from today and buy in small quantities to average out the buying price.
1196  Economy / Economics / Re: Currencies are Collapsing Everywhere. on: October 05, 2022, 02:52:29 PM
It's quite common for high inflation regime. It effectively reduces the purchasing power of any currency. Imports become costlier, internal transportation cost increases and the same trend follows for the commodities. There are couple of ways to control it and central banks everywhere are taking actions accordingly.

Now I see some people are vouching for CBDC to control it but you need 5o understand that CBDC is just a digital version of the main currency so it's not helpful either. But this is the best time to enter into stock market for medium to long term.
1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT HAPPENS TO BITCOIN IF ATLANTIC INTERNET CABLES ARE CUT OFF? on: October 05, 2022, 11:31:49 AM
If the underwater cables are cut off, the internet connectivity will suffer for the entire world and not just the bitcoin miners. However, we do have alternatives available like satellite internet but they are very costly so miners will have to spend more money to get their operations up and running.

So this will be a disastrous situation for the entire world. However, I don't see this happening anytime in the future considering every single countries are heavily dependent on the internet.
1198  Economy / Economics / Re: Electricity bills worth 500,000 euros: a hotel chain closes down in Italy. on: October 04, 2022, 07:32:32 PM
I can safely say the main reason is the ongoing Russia Ukraine war and the sanctions that some western countries have imposed on Russia. But do you understand who is playing the main game from behind? It's US! After the war started US has imposed multiple sanctions on Russia and some EU countries like France or UK also followed through without understanding what game US is playing with them from the disguise of NATO.

US people is not paying the price of the war, rather EU countries are facing huge issues. But who wanted to reach to Russian border in the disguise of NATO?Huh - It's US! Russia has pushed back because no one wants their enemies to reach to their border. This entire war is prompted by US and look who is paying the price - EU.
1199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Senator Says 'I Love That Bitcoin Can't Be Stopped' on: October 04, 2022, 03:01:27 PM
It's good and reassuring to know that some politicians are actually able to understand the power of bitcoin and the power of a decentralised network. Because majority of this lot thinks that making laws will allow them to stop bitcoin which is obviously not true!

I hope she will remain vocal about bitcoin and eventually help the users to get a favorable legislation as a whole which is still missing in US.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mexico is the next El Salvador? on: October 04, 2022, 03:24:00 AM
First please get some facts right! El-Salvador did not just make bitcoin legal tender but they made it the official currency. Mexico is not going to do the same! They are going to adopt bitcoin as a legal tender alongside their official currency system. So both cases are different.

That's a wise way to do it unlike El-Salvador! This way Mexico will be able to protect themselves from bitcoin's volatility while enjoying the innovation!
