1241  Economy / Economics / Re: ECB lifts rates by unprecedented 75 bps on: September 09, 2022, 04:25:23 PM
It's happening everywhere! Inflation is a real problem and increase interest rate is one of the most effective ways to fight inflation. So ECB is heading towards the right direction. It happened in my country as well. I was paying an interest rate of 7.5% on my mortgage and last week it has been increased to 8.3%. Both my EMI and loan tenure got increased. I will now have to look into my finances more closely to reduce the extra expenditure.

I doubt at this scenario, investment will flow into bitcoin. Rather people can take out their money from bitcoin and invest in banking assets as the interest rate has been increased. That's usually what happens!
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto markets see flood of Queen Elizabeth memecoins and NFTs on: September 09, 2022, 12:17:53 PM
This incident shows why we need to avoid memecoins at any cost. None of these newly created coins have a future and will be dead in one day. The crypto market is seeing such kind of attacks since a long time now. Pancakeswap is a frontrunner here who allows to facilitate trading for such memecoins. This madness has to stop. Otherwise the crypto market will never be able to become mainstream due to its reputation.
1243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Hail The Queen! An Outlook Into UK's Crypto Ownership and NFTs Market. on: September 09, 2022, 11:20:53 AM

How does the demise of Queen Elizabeth II affect the UK crypto market? Let's discuss.

In no way whatsoever! That queen did not interfere in any financial regulations related matter ever so there's no impact on the crypto market or even on the mainstream financial market. UK is one of the strongest economies of the world and one of the biggest users of crypto currency. It will remain as it is unless the new prime minister decides to do something drastically different and unfavorable to cryptos.
1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Mobile Gambling Is Leaving People Ruined and Unable to Quit on: September 08, 2022, 06:07:06 PM
With the access to the faster internet service and high end mobile phone, it was expected! Gambling addiction was always a problem but with the easy access of various online platforms, it is becoming even more evident nowadays. It is also becoming difficult to catch problem gamblers early on as we just need a mobile phone to gamble.

It is indeed a problem in many countries. Online gambling platforms are restricted by the local law so even young people are getting addicted to such things.

I believe medical attention is needed but moreover an internet surveillance system is needed just the way people have in China. Otherwise, their penetration will just keep on increasing.
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the failure of El Salvador on: September 08, 2022, 03:55:08 PM
Quote
1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin

This is a flawed narrative! Unless and until we value bitcoin using a fiat currency, bitcoin is not going to be adopted by the mass. Bitcoin has not yet reached to a position where we can value goods and services in bitcoin's unit. So when the value of bitcoin is going down, El-Salvadorians can't cheer about its investment into bitcoin.

It's just one year El-Salvador had adopted bitcoin. So it's too early to conclude if they have failed or not. When bitcoin will reach 100,000, I will revisit such arguments.
1246  Economy / Economics / Re: UK looking to freeze energy rates on: September 08, 2022, 06:15:17 AM
UK has to do it! I was reading a news that around 17% of UK factories have suspended production during peak hours due to the ever-increasing energy price in UK. I believe the privatization of the energy sector is a bad step taken by the government. I used too work for "British Gas" long back and I was really surprised to see the increase of more than 10% yoy basis. This is not sustainable and has to stop by the government.

I am happy that finally UK government and its new PM has taken a serious look at it and taken measures to stop it. It will put some extra pressure on the UK Treasury but if that's going to provide some relief to the common people, that's what is needed!
1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option on: September 07, 2022, 06:12:20 PM
A lot of banks don't understand that if they can't improve their customer experience, they will eventually run out of business sooner or later. But since they have got government backing to be a part of the economic inclusion, they don't bother about customer experience.

Personally I receive at least one email every month from my bank which talks about how bad bitcoin is. So banks are trying to spread miscommunication about bitcoin quite actively. But history doesn't play well with useless things. Time will make them extinct.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Cryptocurrencies Change the View of the Game Industry in the Future on: September 07, 2022, 02:36:24 PM
I wouldn't say cryptos will be changing the gaming industry, rather what I foresee, crypto will be creating a new breed in gaming. The traditional gaming will remain as is it which is currently being controlled by Steam, EA or various game pass providers. There will be an emergence of web 3 gaming where the cryptos will be extensively used.

Since the market for web 3 gaming is very different than the traditional gaming, it would create a new breed in the market. The kind of dominance steam 9r similar platforms have, would not be easy to eat into.
1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix banned Bitcoin, Human Rights Foundation Donates. on: September 07, 2022, 09:46:23 AM
How on earth Netflix can ban bitcoin? They are way too small for such things. They have banned crypto related advertising on their platform. That's fine! No harm is expected on cryptos due to such movement. Crypto will eventually find its place among the mass. I believe Google had taken similar kind of decision last year in crypto ads. It didn't impact crypto 5o any major level. So it's all fine!
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [NEWS] Gambler Charged with Murder after Letting Kids Die on: September 06, 2022, 06:40:35 PM
A careless mother’s casino time resulted in her children’s death. The neglectful parent had left her kids in a hot car to place a few punts at a local casino without considering the consequences.
This is the saddest news I read today. I knew this case isn't possible when in online gambling but this is possible for other unfortunate circumstances too especially at home or somewhere else when you're doing your online gambling activity.

This should be a lesson to take to all parents out there that family is priority first before anything else especially children.

I wonder if there are parents who have experienced something like this or someone knew that has the same case, not with the one with a dead case though but something accident happened because of neglect parenting.

I am sure not all gamblers are like this! This is a classic example of uneducated people who doesn't know the consequence of keep a child inside a car parked in open during daytime. It's bad parenting and no mercy should be shown to these morons who risked their child's life for some mare gambling activities. Honestly I have never seen such incident before. People don't even leave their pets inside a car without keeping the AC on and this was a human baby. Deeply saddened to see a death resulting out of this incident. It's a moronic act and these people should be treated in a similar way by the court of law.
1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Super Rich people have nothing to worry about Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology on: September 06, 2022, 01:44:13 PM
The super rich  are so much worried about the revolutionary financial technology Bitcoin and the Blockchain. They need complete understanding to not to fear of the future. First, they did not earn their riches by hard labour, second they must know that they will never use their mountain height of wealth in one life time.

Their wealth will be inherited by their children, they must teach their children to make money and enjoy their own labour and they must setup charities to help the humanity.

Also they can buy Bitcoin and protect their wealth from invisible theives. If the fiat currency system collapse then their paper money will become ZimbabuIwan  Dollars.

The solution is transferring their wealth into digital asset.

The entire narrative is incorrect! Super riches don't really care about the bitcoin. They usually don't keep their wealth in cash. They usually keep them invested in various assets and businesses from where they can earn recurring income. So their wealth is already protected through diversified investment.

It's a bigger risk for them to convert their investments into digital medium. Having an online wallet doesn't make things secure.
1252  Economy / Economics / Re: Will crypto jobs make government jobs irrelevant in the near future? on: September 06, 2022, 10:43:40 AM
Lol! What an unrealistic expectation!! Crypto jobs are just an extension to IT jobs and nothing out of the world. Government jobs will remain super relevant till the time the world will have governments. People need police forces, people need administration, people need military. Government jobs will never become irrelevant.

Crypto currency can probably challenge the banking jobs to some extent but nothing else!
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sleep 2 Earn ll $WEZ ll WeSleep on: September 05, 2022, 06:06:23 PM
There are multiple similar coins available in the market today. But I have one honest question - what's the utility of such coins? Where we can spend this coin? Where we can sell this coin?

Majority of these coins are a big failure in the market. So what's unique to this coin which can have a future? What's the USP of this coin? In a nutshell, why people will use it?
1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigerian FG to partner Binance on: September 05, 2022, 04:56:32 PM
What a U turn? NCB was one of the central banks who had officially banned crypto currency from circulating in their economy. So it's quite surprising to see Binance signing contract with a government agency. I am not sure what's the motive of the Nigerian government behind this, but it's super surprising!

Hopefully this way Nigeria will become friendly towards cryptos in the coming future once they see the benefits of it.
1255  Economy / Economics / Re: Flood causing economics crises on: September 05, 2022, 11:06:22 AM
As you know flood its part of world unfavourable environment. its has bundle of other reaction not in specefic area but around ecosystem. is flood fetching changing in economics? if yes but how!!!!!

That's quite obvious! A third of Pakistan is underwater. Many other countries are also on the risk of getting flooded due to global warming. The more flooding will occur, more and more crops will get destroyed which will result in significant reduction in production. All are linked to be honest!

Smaller countries will have to spend significantly more to secure food grains going forward. Also with Ukraine (largest producer of wheat) unable to produce required amount of wheat, the supply will eventually suffer big time!
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should be pushed as a dominant global digital currency on: September 02, 2022, 06:12:50 PM
Lol! Way too optimistic! Personally I feel bitcoin has a long way to go even before it can be accepted as a legal tender in the major trillion dollar economies of the world. Being a dominant global currency is out of question.

Bitcoin at its current stage with its volatile nature, it simply doesn't qualify to be a global currency. It is qualified as a speculative asset and that's what it is good at. Let traders trade and investors invest. That is what bitcoin is best used at.
1257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you think bear market is affecting Bitcoin (Crypto currencies) so badly on: September 02, 2022, 02:03:55 PM
In my own opinion crypto investment just like any other business is not a mare for weaken Hearted follow
Cause it's the time to humble the riches and en-riches the strong minder holders are winners in this space
What do you think will help to help boost the mindset of investors again after all the ordeal?

There's no need to boost anyone's mindset. Like any other asset, bitcoin too has its own bull and bear cycle. So when people aren't complaining about the bull cycle, they should keep their mouths shut during bear cycle as well. A lot of investors don't understand that bitcoin is available at a discounted cost now, so they should be buying more. But instead gets panicked during such bear cycle.

Weak hearted people should not join the bitcoin race at the first place.
1258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 02, 2022, 06:00:08 AM
$400 million in punitive damage? That's insane! I believe it's a good time to withdraw your funds from Stake asap because you never know the outcome of the lawsuit. This is not the first time we have seen such ownership dispute in crypto world but the amount this time is insane. So just to make your funds safe, move to a different casino for the time being.
1259  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: National Police of Ukraine takes down cyber crime group on: September 01, 2022, 05:48:37 PM
Crypto educated people were really falling for such scams? Are you serious?? It's a shame really! Secondly it's a even bigger shame while an active war is ongoing with Russia and people are already in stress.

But one thing is really serious here! How on earth these miscreants are getting the phine number of people who had lost cryptocurrency at some point of time. Probably from a hacked exchange? It's important to identify the source of information.
1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Merge - Vitalik memes and lots of expectation on: September 01, 2022, 04:20:46 PM
Speculative activities will never stop so its no wonder that a lot of people are going all in to get the benefit out of a possible price pump and also from poasible forked coin.

But this merge is a highly awaited change people are waiting for a long time now. It will give a lot of people a chance to stake their coins and earn an API.

I am definitely not buying more as I am accumulating bitcoin while it is available at a discounted price. But ETH will also not be a bad buy to be honest and we may actually see a price rally after the merge.
