Where I live physical gold mostly comes in the form of investment coins, and they are all cased for protection

@ deisik what coins are those?  Always looking to add something new to my stack

These are St. George the Victorious gold coins emitted by the Central bank of Russia

http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces23523.html

I've actually been looking to buy one off these recently.  Are you able to source them and if so what is the cost?

These are two of my 100g bars, current value just over 16BTC, really not hard to carry or stash away (they also feel better in the hand than a memory stick or paper wallet Smiley )

I assume you carry (store) them in some transparent plastic casing? Wanna see the picture of your gold fully packed, lol...

Seeing gold naked makes me feel uneasy, wtf

No need to keep them in cases, they are poured bullion bars and fondling them is half the fun.
2084  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: January 01, 2016, 05:03:53 PM
Gold will never go to zero value.  Bitcoin could.
2085  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: January 01, 2016, 04:27:00 PM
diversification is the way to go. It shouldn't be Bitcoin or Gold, much better to go Bitcoin and Gold.
In the event of a global fiat collapse everyone will recognize gold/silver as a value holder.
They are hard to store though and a lot less liquid then Bitcoin like currency.

A gold bar worth £25k is about the same size as a mobile phone, it is not hard to store.

yes and its weight it's also in the range of 100g? no way, you're basically wearing 1kg in your pocket for only 25k

when i can carry million in my smartphone, in bitcoin, without nothing

So is that scenario applicable to 99.9% of people?

If you converted people's bitcoin assets in to gold I think most would not have trouble with transportation of equivalent gold weight.

Gold is more liquid than bitcoin, you can change gold to currency anywhere in the world easily.

Try preaching about bitcoin to these guys and see how much food you would get:

So many people here constantly post opinions on gold and its pretty obvious they dont own or have ever owner any.

Ever heard of Google, trying searching.

America's debt is no secret and there are plenty of sources available to confirm.

Does this sound like a "rich man"

need loan 0.04BTC
collateral : 10 Banx
Repayment Amount: 0.044BTC
Duration: 7 Days
2091  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: December 30, 2015, 10:27:37 AM
i would choose bitcoin as in my opinion it gives more opportunities to make money
Yes the Bitcoin in now the new gold for every one. before people fight, love and do business in gold now the time has come to use bitcoins every where , to buy or sell anything in bitcoins. Its really feel good if we have more bitcoins then Gold. so I will chose Bitcoin.

The market caps tell a different story.

All the people with real money, central banks and countries still back gold.
2092  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: December 29, 2015, 02:44:34 PM
I would like to pick both one and the other are good

I think we not need save gold hereafter because if we save gold as a jewellery savings or bar. When we wish to resale it will not according to the market rate. So many reduction in gold. But bitcoin is not like whenever you sell you can get the market value and if you save it will increase for sure in future

I would disagree, I can buy gold 3% over spot and easily sell for the same rate on forums or eBay or at spot to most dealers.

Jewellery is different with large mark ups.

With bitcoin there is still a buy/sell spread e.g localbitcoins

This is a real life example of SHTF scenario, when hyper inflation kicks in and fiat is reduced to nothing more than toilet paper.

Gold used to buy bread and essentials :

You cant blame the staff its not their fault.

It is however another good reason to ban the buying and selling of accounts on here which I've been banging on about for years.

It was only a matter of time before something like this happened Angry.

Totally agree.

Buying/selling accounts should have never been tolerated and any accounts proven to have been sold should be banned.

What are the methods of collection of BTC easily

BTC = money.

So what are the methods of collecting money easily.

1) Sell stuff
2) Work for it
3) Join the countless scammers and try and steal it (not recommended!)

Sounds pointless to me, you would only be running the miner a few hours a day all the while difficulty is ramping up.
2098  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: December 22, 2015, 09:52:36 PM
Maybe for our era, we should have both gold and bitcoin. I think gold will still be valuable at least for the next 50 years....
We can't compare gold with Bitcoins ,logically. Gold we see it glitters shine, we wear it too but at the same time Bitcoins is a digital money. Its price rises and goes down too.now the price is little down but it will gain the market again. Gold values will not be decreased in the future.
Why will gold values not be decreased in the future? I think due to inflation the gold price may go down.

Increasing world population leading to more demand for gold.

Increasing energy costs driving up mining costs (except for recent energy price blip)

All that quantitive easing money floating around will look for a safe haven during the next crash.
2099  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New startup with 250k, what should I invest in? on: December 21, 2015, 09:32:39 PM
My consulting fees start at 0.75BTC per hour and go up from there.  I have a non-refundable deposit of 5BTC for a retainer.  As soon as your coin hits my wallet and confirms, I'll start providing you with services.  My wallet address is 1DevLdogN52pHdjZnsgi4HzreFDB4ZHVre.

Now thats what I call a brief CV  Smiley
