when you say import the key into a wallet that is for main net... do you mean just open shift nano wallet... then change it from testnet wallet to mainnet and then type in my 12 word phrase and enter?

yes i have the 12 word passphrase for it.
2102  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sent Altcoin To Testnet Address, Can I Recover My Coins? on: May 23, 2019, 04:37:48 AM
Hi there.  Its called the shift nano wallet.

You can only log into your wallet with the 12 word phrase.  It shows testnet.  However, someone who helped me out with this issue said he downloaded the wallet... and when he opened it up... it was set as mainnet.  So that would mean... I accidentally changed it from mainnet to testnet before i created the account?

However what im not 100 percent sure is when i created the account, if it was on mainnet or testnet.  I recalled after wallet downloaded, i opened it and clicked new account.  But i must have changed it to testnet by accident?  I then remember logging out and then logging back in in the shift nano wallet.  But when i did this, it was on testnet.

Well i could try logging in with my 12 word passphrase and change it from testnet to mainnet to see if my shift would appear?

Or should i wait to see what others in the shift thread say about this before i do it?

Also in general what happens if an exchange sends coins to a testnet?  Also is it 100% i created my account on testnet?  That is what im not sure because i was positive i did not change any settings before i clicked on new account..if i did... it was by accident.

So right now im just waiting to see what shift users are saying about this.  But if you create a mainnet account, could you still have coins sent to a testnet account?

Someone says this has nothing to do with bittrex and everything is on shift now...

I mean the transaction is completed already.  So isn't this all on shift and bittrex has nothing to do with it?
2104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bittrex Withdraw Completed But Not in Wallet? on: May 23, 2019, 04:06:10 AM
Is that testnet link i posted legit though?

Someone told me to go to shift on coinmarketcap and then type in that txid into it.  Then it showed over 200 confirmations.  But then i notice there was another explorer called testnet.  So you want me to enter the txid into that one?  Or should i wait?

2105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sent Altcoin To Testnet Address, Can I Recover My Coins? on: May 23, 2019, 04:03:40 AM
The transaction did go through.  Its no longer in bittrex.  Shows it as completed.

I also have access to that address when i open up my shift wallet.  Again its when i login and its testnet.  But it shows 0 shift in my wallet...

So you are saying i did send it to a legit address?  Then why does it show 0 shift then?  Do i need to login with my passphrase and change it from testnet to mainnet?  Most importantly, does anyone know if i could still claim these coins as long as i have the 12 word phrase?
2106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sent Altcoin To Testnet Address, Can I Recover My Coins? on: May 23, 2019, 04:01:29 AM
There are confirmations and transaction is successful.

I have not tried logging into shift wallet while changing it from testnet to mainnet yet with my passphrase.   I want to know everything first before i try anything as i don't want to make the situation worst if i could get my coins back.

Well the shift was sent from exchange to my shift nano wallet.  But its a testnet address.  Again, the issue here is when you create an account or login, the default is set as testnet.  You can't even tell really there is option to change it as the arrow for dropdown menu is all the way on the far white and its a white color too.  I mean if its set on that, wouldn't that be the default?  I have the passphrase for it.
2107  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Withdraw Completed But Not in Wallet? on: May 23, 2019, 03:58:02 AM
Hi thanks for the reply.  But in general, do you know if coins could be retrieved?  When i created the shift account, im pretty certain it was in testnet as that is the default.  When i opened the shift wallet after it downloaded, i dont remember if it automatically let me create the wallet or i had to click NEW ACCOUNT FIRST.  But if i did click on new account, it obviously was in testnet.

But with other altcoins, do you know what happens in cases like this?  The thing is if your address is a testnet, it was created as a testnet right?
2108  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Withdraw Completed But Not in Wallet? on: May 23, 2019, 03:46:58 AM
Hi there.  Yes i posted this in few threads because i'm freaked out right now.

Do you or anyone know if you send shift or any altcoin to a wallet that is testnet, you could retrieve them if you have the 12 word passphrase?

From google, i see 1 or 2 threads that few ppl say yes... but some say no...
2109  Other / Beginners & Help / Sent Altcoin To Testnet Address, Can I Recover My Coins? on: May 23, 2019, 03:41:24 AM
Hey all.  I have an altcoin called shift.  I left it on exchange.  I then downloaded wallet to have coins sent there.  I was told the wallet is very simple.  So i downloaded wallet, then wrote down my 12 word passphrase.  Then i logged out and logged in with my passphrase to make sure its correct so i can log in.  It does.  I then withdraw from exchange to the address.  The altcoin address is basically right there on the page.  So i copied and pasted it to exchange and withdrew.

I got confirmation.  Then i notice that its not in my wallet.  I could not figure this out as this was taking too long.  I then noticed that when i log out and try to log in again, there is options to select a network before you log in.

Options are testnet which is the default.  There is a drop down menu arrow all the way on the right side to switch it to mainnet or customnode.  The thing is i did not notice this and most ppl probably wouldn't be aware of it as well.  Even if i did, i wouldn't change anything because testnet is set as the default.

The transaction did confirm as there are over 200 confirmations.

But someone in another thread said because i sent it to a testnet address, im screwed.  Can someone tell me if this is true or false?  I recall exchange said don't send it to certain address or dapp etc.  But is testnet one of them?  The thing here is testnet is set as default.  Why in the world would this wallet do this then?  What I'm not 100 percent sure was when i created the wallet, im not sure if i clicked on new account or it just created it for me.  But when i logged out and then logged back in, there was no issue.  So i figure well the address is shown right on the page.

Can someone tell me what i can do?  I do have my 12 word passphrase.   Could i login to the mainnet network with my 12 word passphrase or would that not work?  If i could, could i retrieve my coins?

I checked online and in an old reddit thread someone mentioned if you sent btc to a testnet, you could still recover the coin as long as you have the seed etc but someone else say you cannot.

Can someone please answer these questions for me?

Hey all really desperate now.

I have the 12 word passphrase.  So i can't get these coins?

The thing is when i first created an account, im not sure if i clicked on new account to create a wallet or it just automatically created a wallet for me.  Then i wrote down my 12 word passphrase.  Then i logged out of it... then logged back in the shift wallet to make sure my 12 word phrase worked.  When i logged back in, i just typed in my 12 word phrase.  I never even really looked at the testnet thing because it was just there as default.  Basically it shows top line English then testnet below it.

Then i had shift sent from exchange to the shift wallet as the address is right there when you open the wallet.

I mean you can't even tell there is an option to change testnet to something else because its hard to even notice the arrow where there is dropdown menu.    Its all the way on the far right.  It does say Select a network above testnet but even if i noticed that, i wouldn't even had changed it.

Can someone tell me if i could login to the mainnet and use the 12 word passphrase and the shift would show up there?

So there is no way to recover my shift?  If so, why in the world would it show the default as testnet?  Any shift users can help out on this?

When i created the wallet, there wasn't any mention of this.  When you log in, its on testnet.  You can't even notice there is an option to change from testnet to something else...  I then generated the 12 word phrase to log in.

I sent everything from the exchange to it.  Good lord.  So what happens now then?   Why in the world would the shift wallet have it set default as testnet?  You can't even notice there is an option to change testnet to something else.

2116  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Withdraw Completed But Not in Wallet? on: May 23, 2019, 02:57:35 AM
Shift is the coin.

The other thing i notice is this.

When i log into my shift nano wallet, it shows testnet.  That is the default for shift wallet.  I notice there is option of mainnet or custom node but i never changed it to that because i didn't know you could do this.

I typed in the txid into the shift explorer from the explorer on coinmarketcap... it shows over 200 confirmations.

However what is strange is when i type in shift testnet in google,

It shows

https://explorer.testnet.shift.shiftnrg.org

and

https://explorer/shiftnrg.org

I entered the txid into the 2nd one as that is the one shown on coinmarketcap.  But it shows the transaction as confirmed in the 2nd one.  So do i type it in the 1st link on google?

The thing is the shift address i have in my wallet, is the address that the shift was sent to.

I forgot to mention one other thing.  I notice when i log into my shift wallet, the network is testnet.  I then clicked on the scroll and there is option of mainnet or custom node.  Did i had to change it to mainnet?

When i first created the wallet, I don't think there was an option to do that?  Or you could have chosen mainnet?

So do i log in to the mainnet with my passphrase?  Will it then show the shift i have?  When i login to the testnet as that is the default and enter my passphrase, there is 0 shift showing.  Im really worried now because the txid showed that there are over 200 plus confirmations already.  I mean my shift address in the testnet is still a legit shift address right?  Really concerned now because i had shift sent from exchange to the address and there is 0 shift showing.  Anyone with shift nano wallet can help here?

Okay im concerned now.  I entered the txid and it shows over 200 confirmations.  The address is the same address as my wallet...

Does anyone have a clue what could be the cause of this?
