2101  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool distribution monthly reports on: April 05, 2023, 01:59:46 PM
But that has nothing to do with hashrate distribution between pools unless you think that the government is using public mining pools and even worse, spreading their hashrate between more than one pool, your concern is valid but not related to the subject, you are talking about 2 pools having 56% of the total hashrate, those two pools need to work together, run the same code and plan for the same attack, so this brings us back to the original "assumption", what does Bitmain get from screwing with BTC when everything Bitmain related depends on BTC?
I don't know exactly what governments are doing but I know they are concerned about Bitcoin and they dont fit Bitcoin mining in their green agenda.
They cant stop mining, they can only try to ban it like China did, but look what happened with that, many miners migrated to other countries.
Making global bitcoin ban is possible to happen but I think chances are low, so they can only attack from inside.

If an entity is trying to perform an attack with no financial incentive then they would more likely use their own "unknown" pool, the fact that the largest pools are public pools suggests that only said pools can perform the attack, and thus, they would need a financial incentive.
There are other type of incentives, not just financial.
Someone can have incentive to eliminate things that mess with their plans.

No Govt has unlimited funds to attack bitcoin, maybe it was possible many years ago, but no longer possible.
Bitcoin is too large, and too well spread out around the world.
I wouldn't say this is impossible to happen, and Bitcoin have some weak points.
They literally have money printing machine, and they can bring entire financial system down that is much larger than bitcoin.

Everybody is competing. No break for you so better send your answers.

You are free in R1 but you will have a match in R2 same as all Div 1 & Div 2 players. That means you still have deadline tomorrow, but you have a free pass on first 5 questions. You must answer the rest before the deadline.
Guys you are complicating things so much and confusing us all with your trickery Grin
I sent all my questions but I am sure that I was not the only one who thought there is a break for some players.
Positive feedback is that Cup question answering was not that hard like it happens in BSFL sometimes.
Good luck everyone.

2104  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io - Holding my funds (342 mBTC) on: April 04, 2023, 06:36:03 PM
I am looking for some lead where can I go from here. Since none of my emails are being replied to.
@madman123 I saw Steve from Sportsbet recently posted something about new wave of members abusing their website so they had to make some modification with account verification and withdrawals, maybe you got caught is the middle.
My suggestion is to contact Steve in forum and explain your situation, and if you are honest user everything will be fixed soon.
Update us with your situation change when you receive more news about your case.
2105  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool distribution monthly reports on: April 04, 2023, 06:27:06 PM
It depends on how you actually look at it, this is not the first time where two entities alone have more than 50% of the total hasharate, a few years ago Bitmain as an entity (antpool, btc.com and Viabtc) had 30-35% and along with Binance or f2pool they had more than half the total hashrate, so pretty similar to what is happening now, in fact it was even worse since those pools operated in the same country.
It's not the first time for two mining pools have over 50% but it never happened for two of them to have over 56% like it is now.
Few percent is a big number that makes a difference for someone who wants to perform some kind of attack on Bitcoin, even if they are in different locations.
I would like much more to have three or more pools sharing around 50% of hashrate.

Clearly not the highest however ...
I said it was highest number since I am following mining pools in this topic, that started from end of July 2020.
We always criticized altcoins for having centralized mining pools, so I dont see why we cant do the same thing for Bitcoin.

It should also be pointed out that Foundry is not a pool per-se. They mine strictly for themselves and smaller farms that buy gear from them and have it hosted by Foundry. My guess is that the hosted farms are splitting the blocks w/Foundry so in one sense it *is* a pool. Just a huge private one...
I know it's not a single guy or company who is controlling all this hash power but it is still sort of centralization of mining power.

Indeed, there is no incentives for any pool or large miners to screw with BTC, the rewards will be a lot less than the risk taken but any one of those entities since those have so much at stake, however, there is valid concern in terms of the "law", so mining pools that operate whiting the same country could be "forced"to do some stupid things just to obey the laws and regulation.
This is assumption, someone could perform attack even if there is no financial incentive, if they have unlimited funds and printing machine like governments.
2106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 04, 2023, 06:16:22 PM
Pereira is not a very likable character since he doesn't smile a lot but I can say he put all his strength to be great in this sport. He is from a very poor beginning though, same as those who started from scratch. I would be happy for him to become successful too.
That is not important at all, Mike Tyson was not a likeable character, he didn't smile much and he dominated boxing for years.
My prediction is that Pereira probably winning on points, unless Adesanya make huge surprise with his fighting style and dominates more with wrestling.
I think both of them are good in stand up, Adesanya is faster, Pereira is stronger, but all other skills outside kickboxing is advantage for Adesanya.

Dana White and the UFC went thru the hoops to get and support McGregor in his foray into boxing.  But the thing is if the UFC fighter lost in a boxing match it diminishes the UFC fighter's stock and in a way it also diminishes the UFC as a brand.  So after McGregor vs Mayweather, the UFC isn't having more boxing matches involving fighters from their roster.
I don't think it affects UFC at all, but they can't control money and take most of the earnings like they are doing in their competition.
Let me predict that is McGregor makes another boxing fight UFC will allow him to do it, but other fighters wont be allowed to do that.
2107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: April 04, 2023, 06:06:59 PM
He is still in PFL roster. Havent found that he is a free agent again. PFL contracts turns to be more flexible than UFC Cheesy
I like how PFL is handling business, they give more freedom and tournaments competition is great.
Contracts in UFC can also be flexible but only for Conor McGregor, for everyone ekes it is restricted area   Cheesy
Anthony Pettis didnt have the very good results in PFL, since he came from UFC he lost four fights and won only one in PFL, so he had to try something different.
His younger brother Segio Pettis is doing much better in Bellator, after moving away from UFC he made four wins and his next fight should be against Patricio Pitbull.

PL games tonight, what do you think guys?
Aston Villa win against Leicester looks to me like a very good bet, they are in great form and Leicester is missing some players for this match.
I know Leicester is desperate to get some points for survival race, but I just can't resist this odds on Villa.
For someone who want to play safer double chance X2 would be a good idea.

I honestly have no idea what to say for Chelsea vs  Liverpool, I am leaning more towards home win but I am not excluding draw result.

Rumors are that Potter is the most expensive coach right now as he is about to get 15 mil $ for his departure with Chelsea  Shocked..crazy!
This could have positive effect on Chelsea squad, because atmosphere there is now described as toxic. Smiley

I see we have Cup questions this time so I am taking a break from answering questions this time.
Good luck everyone who is competing today.

Close round and I got my GD back to 0, I probably need to reassess how I answer Liverpool questions, always seems to be my Kryptonite, scored 0 points last round and somehow managed to win this one with only 3...
I see you are fifth place in Division 1 and I am fifth place in Division 2, but you have much more chances to go up.
I swear some of this guys from my division are expert freaks, and I don't know how they keep winning and cant lose Sad

Schedule:
3-9.4. - cup (R1 and R2)
10-16.4. - league
17-23.4. - league
24-30.4. - cup (R3, QF)
1-7.5. - league
8-14.5. - league
15-21.5. - cup (SF, Final)
22-28.5. - league

Can someone confirm if this schedule is correct?
Thanks.

Anyone watched Gamebred Boxing 4 April 1 ? This topic might not be appropriate place to post, but most of the card was filled by formed MMA/UFC fighters Cheesy
No, I totally missed this event and I never heard any news about that.
I was thinking Anthony Pettis is still under contract with PFL, but maybe they are allowing lose roles and boxing fights
For Joes Aldo I heard that he was interested in boxing and he was always good at that, but my boxing favorites are heavyweights like Fury.

Here are an upcoming match this coming Friday, well, it is kind of not that striking but here it is
Nice warmup for big UFC event his weekend.
I am not that much interested in main event but I really want to watch Bruno Cappelozza vs Matheus Scheffel.
I think Ante Delija is still on poster you posted but he withdrew his participation from this event and Denis Goltsov is his replacement.

So my reward for winning the Sportsbet.io ⚽ EURO 2024 Qualifiers ⚽ GOALFEST ⚽ [Free Bets + Apparel] has arrived. I thank Sportsbet.io for organizing a competition with such great rewards. Here's my reward:
Very very cool pictures!
Congratulations again, I won free bets in that same competition but it's very hard to beat you  Cheesy

BEERS WITH STEVE can happen anywhere at anytime!
Steve I think you should write a book about your travels, maybe call it Adventures of Sportsbet Steve.
I am not saying it's going to be bestseller like Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, but you never know  Grin

Anyone fancy betting on Tottenham tonight against Everton?
I made a combo bet and I had to include them in my ticket, despite them missing some players I think they are miles better than Everton this season.
Don't forget that more Premier League matches are played tomorrow, it's going to be interesting to watch Chelsea vs Liverpool.
2112  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: April 03, 2023, 06:32:39 PM
Manchester United with and without Casemiro are very different teams.
Maybe this was revenge for recent defeat in EFL Cup final when Man United won with same result Smiley
I didn't expect so easy win from Newcastle but this two teams are both fighting for Champions League spots, and Newcastle was great this season, especially in defense.
They conceded only 19 goals in27 matches and statistics would be much better if they didn't spoil it with Man City and Liverpool.
2113  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool distribution monthly reports on: April 03, 2023, 06:24:42 PM
New month is here and this is time to check the state of bitcoin mining pools.
There is no change in first place with FoundryUSA having almost 31% of total hashrate, that is few percent more than last month.
AntPool is in second place and they increased hashrate to more than 25%, this means that FoundryUSA and AntPool currently have around 56% of hashrate, this is not good at all!
F2Pool is in third place with almost 13% hasharte that is few percent less than last month, and it is followed by Binance pool in fourth place with 9.5%.
ViaBTC is only smaller mining pool that have more than 5% of hashrate, and all other pools have less.
This is maybe worst case of centralization of mining pools since I follow this subject from 2020, and I hope it wont get worse.

What do I want to say? Has the BestChange project administration ever considered the possibility of increasing remuneration for its participants? BestChange has long been one of the highest paying signature campaigns, but competitors are starting to get ahead.
If you dont like how much BestChange pays you for signature campaign spot simply quit and change it for something else.
There are higher and lower paying campaigns that come and go, but bestchange has been stable for years.
Payment rates could be higher for all campaigns and we are looking for someone to step up as a clear leader.
2119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Heavyweight Boxing 1st April 2023: Joshua vs Franklin on: April 02, 2023, 06:36:38 PM
I was never impressed with Anthony Joshua but it was expected for him to win this fight against Franklin, I even predicted it would be win with points as unanimous decision, and I won reward from Sportsbet Smiley
What is more exciting for me is potential fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury, and I want Fury to finally kick his ass and shut his mouth.
Fury is better in all areas except is body figure, but that brings zero points in boxing, maybe Joshua should do some modeling  Grin
