~ It's funny that someone from the UFC goes to Boxing instead of retiring, I wonder why these guys who make a lot of money and keep getting hurt for years still want to keep fighting, they even created exhibition fights to keep fighting even when they're done. they are old
MMA is taxing to your body and age will catch up to combine all the techniques while boxing is sweet science, no kicks, no wrestling and for an experience MMA fighter, it is much less taxing for their body and overall they are all competitors and earn their living sacrificing their body and hence some of the fighters are returning even after well past their fighting days. Some big news today with the UFC merging with WWE. WWE (formerly WWF) was awesome back in the day, of course now that I'm older I've outgrown it a bit, but they just don't have the wrestlers like they once did..so this is probably a good thing for both the UFC and WWE.
Are they merging or the company that purchased UFC (Endeavor ) is purchasing WWE but they will be in the background and things will continue like usual. Vince will carry on with the creative role

It's funny that someone from the UFC goes to Boxing instead of retiring, I wonder why these guys who make a lot of money and keep getting hurt for years still want to keep fighting, they even created exhibition fights to keep fighting even when they're done. they are old, UFC guys learn various martial arts and as in the UFC they throw punches so it is very easy to get used to Boxing, although in Boxing they will spend many hours using only their arms but from what I see not even that is not a barrier that will make them give up
there will come a time when we will see fights between fighters who are already very old and who were legends in the past and the title of the fights will be: "fights of legends". I do not doubt that this will happen, because we are walking in a path where fighters are no longer able to retire, could it be that fighters do not earn enough money to guarantee a good retirement? Why do I keep asking myself why they retire from the UFC but go into Boxing or exhibition fights, but don't retire from Boxing?
in some cases they stop fighting for a while and when you think they are going to retire they start fighting again, why does that happen? Could it be that the money they earn in the UFC isn't good enough for them to retire? What is the lowest salary paid in the UFC?
Imho they cant retire (mentally), because they cant change their life style. They have been going to gym to train for tens years. Cant let go their past life. A lot of people say that UFC is greedy and their contracts are close to slavery. A new fighter gets 10+10 for a fight and a 3 fight contract. Fighters like Aldo, Stephens, Pettis, Belfort probably were getting 100-200k for a fight. If we subtract taxes, team expenses and etc, I would not say they were living like kings. Why they go to boxing? Not because they could earn there more (only few professional boxers earn millions, probably less than 50, while there are thousands of them), but because a man must work/earn. How can it be if you are 35 and you retire. What should they do? Sit on couch or do gardening? Imho they have switched profession. I was thinking Anthony Pettis is still under contract with PFL, but maybe they are allowing lose roles and boxing fights
He is still in PFL roster. Havent found that he is a free agent again. PFL contracts turns to be more flexible than UFC

PFL contracts turns to be more flexible than UFC I like how PFL is handling business, they give more freedom and tournaments competition is great. Contracts in UFC can also be flexible but only for Conor McGregor, for everyone ekes it is restricted area Anthony Pettis didnt have the very good results in PFL, since he came from UFC he lost four fights and won only one in PFL, so he had to try something different. His younger brother Segio Pettis is doing much better in Bellator, after moving away from UFC he made four wins and his next fight should be against Patricio Pitbull.

Are they merging or the company that purchased UFC (Endeavor ) is purchasing WWE but they will be in the background and things will continue like usual. Vince will carry on with the creative role It looks like this is the breakdown now.. "WWE and UFC, which is owned by Endeavor, are merging to form a $21 billion "global live sports and entertainment company." With the transaction, UFC was valued at $12.1 billion, and WWE had a valuation of $9.3 billion. "Together, we will be a $21-plus billion live sports and entertainment powerhouse with a collective fanbase of more than a billion people and an exciting growth opportunity," WWE executive chairman Vince McMahon said. "The new company will be well positioned to maximize the value of our combined media rights, enhance sponsorship monetization, develop new forms of content and pursue other strategic mergers and acquisitions to further bolster our strong stable of brands. Endeavor will have a 51 percent controlling interest, with the remaining 49 percent spread across WWE's shareholders After retiring from his positions as WWE chairman, CEO and head of creative in July 2022, McMahon returned to the company in January 2023 as part of the board of directors, which fueled rumors of a potential sale". There's a good bit more of that info here- https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10061347-vince-mcmahon-agrees-to-sell-wwe-to-endeavor-to-form-21b-live-sports-brand-with-ufc#:~:text=After%20roughly%2070%20years%20of,Endeavor%20Group%20Holdings%20on%20Monday.

Did you also notice, that after people are released from UFC (but they are still active fighters), their career flies down ? Like UFC drinks all the juiced from them. I have never seen any (at least cant remember quickly) anyone who used to be good in UFC, and continued to be good in other promotion (of course if we talk about fighting decent opponent, not newbies or opponents with deep negative records). Since PFL is more flexible with their contracts, UFC now walks hand to hand with WWE, do you think we gonna see more flexibility from MMA promotions? Like UFC allowing their fighters to compete somewhere else or even do other sport ? For example when a fighter has active UFC contract, he isnt allowed to participate in grapping tournaments, play football on more than amateur level and etc. Sort of a NHL clubs allow their player to participate in IIHC or Olympic games when their team isnt playing.

Did you also notice, that after people are released from UFC (but they are still active fighters), their career flies down ? This is not true and I can give you few examples, Segio Pettis is a good MMA example, Cris Cyborg is doing great in Bellator and boxing, Ryan Bader is great in Bellator as Heavyweight champion, Liz Carmouche is Flyweight champion in Bellator. Francis Ngannou is just getting started. Like UFC drinks all the juiced from them. I have never seen any (at least cant remember quickly) anyone who used to be good in UFC, and continued to be good in other promotion (of course if we talk about fighting decent opponent, not newbies or opponents with deep negative records). If you didn't see it that doesn't mean it is not happening all the time.

Some people say that this is similar to going from professional to amateur, of course you gonna do great there. Like NHL players more to their local leagues and play well there; become champions of Sweden League B for example. But I've got your point. I am not praising UFC, not saying that their fighters are cool and others suck. But in other promotions former ufc fighters imho act like a promotion bonus. Promotions can speculate with "look at this guy, he is from UFC, you should not miss that fight, buy our tickets" and etc.

WTF?! PFL and Bellator are not amateur MMA leagues, but go ahead and step in octagon to test how amater they are. Let me tell you something, I think you never watched any MMA Bellator or PFL fight in your life, and you dont know what you are taking about. You are allowed to have your oppinion, but this is end of discussion for me.

This one again, I really think this is not a female mma fighter, or she has taken some heavy hormone therapy, I mean just look at her photos and videos. She has short hair, big wide shoulders, lot of tattoos on her body and she said that she never wears woman clothes If you dont believe me watch highlights from this main event against Julia Budd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StiPS1kncO4Watch this interview she gave for MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani last year, and listen his voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI-G69xuSNA

Is there any website with more information in English language? I visited Oktagon MMA website that is showing only Czech language and it's the same on their youtube channel. This looks like local competition from Europe, but they are hiring foreign fighters from other countries- Trailer on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0Of9cOrvTI

Thank you, but this is only for live broadcast, main website don't have anything in English language, so I have to use machine translation https://oktagonmma.com/New PFL 3 event is starting in few days as a nice warmup for UFC Max Holloway fight. There are not many famous fighters for PFL 3 but I would start watching from early prelims with Magomed Umalatov fight that has perfect 12-0 MMA record. I never watched main event fighters before, but I would give slight advantage to Sadibou Sy who has big reach advantage. http://pflmma.com/

Crazy to see Bellator have 2 events held with only one day difference, Bellator 294 will happen at April 21 while Bellator 295 will happen at April 22. Carmouche vs Bennett should be an easy win for Carmouche, Bennett is often missed weight during the weight in. For Stos vs Mix, this should be an interesting fight. Bellator 294 Quick Card: Liz Carmouche vs. DeAnna Bennett 125 lbs Tim Johnson vs. Said Sowma 265 lbs Arlene Blencowe vs. Sara McMann 145 lbs Danny Sabatello vs. Marcos Breno 135 lbs Levan Chokheli vs. Michael Lombardo 170 lbs Killys Mota vs. Kenneth Cross 155 lbs Tyrell Fortune vs. S. I think you dont know the difference between professional, amateur and a guy who goes 2-3 times a week into gym for years just to "train mma" for himself. The UFC is the biggest MMA promotion and it has the widest audience which means the company also has resources more than any other promotions out there. But this does not guarantee that its champions are always better than the other promotions. The UFC though has the resources to take the other promotions fighters when there are chances or once contracts are done. This is the only advantage the UFC has so most of us can say they have the best fighters in MMA but this is not 100% guaranteed. An example that UFC champions may not be the best as always in the MMA is when WEC was purchased. The following year its former fighter Ben Henderson took over the lightweight division by impressively defeating UFC champion Frankie Edgar. Frankie Edgar after losing the rematch then dropped down in weight to fight for the featherweight belt, by then held by Jose Aldo, another ex-WEC. Edgar lost again.

All of them are doing great against "non ufc fighters". Some people say that this is similar to going from professional to amateur, of course you gonna do great there.
Wonder which of my words offended you so much... Before you end this discussion, I would like to drag one last answer from you - you think that fighters from Bellator, PFL or other promotion are on the same level as UFC ? Lets not talk about past but better concentrate on nowadays. Because I can also compare first UFC tournaments and champions and with Pride and say that they are cool too. Wanna talk about other promotion champ vs UFC champs? Ok, "lets get it on" (voice of John McCarthy). Which current non UFC champ is better than UFC champ? Besides Usman Nurmagomedov from Bellator Crazy to see Bellator have 2 events held with only one day difference, Bellator 294 will happen at April 21 while Bellator 295 will happen at April 22. Carmouche vs Bennett should be an easy win for Carmouche, Bennett is often missed weight during the weight in. For Stos vs Mix, this should be an interesting fight.
That is really unusually for MMA. I remember One had two tournaments in one day ( ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee and ONE 163: Akimoto vs. Petchtanong). But it is really crazy to see Bellator do same.
