2101  Economy / Speculation / Re: MMM affect bitcoin price on: March 23, 2016, 10:53:31 AM
MMM can't be talked relating to bitcoin. MMM doesn't have a backing, its just a plan which gives earning based on investment. This will never have impact on our bitcoin's price.

Take your nonsense Yobit spam and GTFO.
2102  Economy / Speculation / Re: MMM affect bitcoin price on: March 23, 2016, 09:19:48 AM
MMMGlobal have just removed their $10,000 cap, it is now unlimited.
It may well signal the inevitable end of the system as it becomes less and less sustainable, but anyone who thinks that this amount of new fiat coming in has no effect on the Bitcoin price is mistaken imo.

whywefight already noticed and probably reported this user... looks like this:

Mostly utter bullshit but more than one-liners,  e.g.:

Quote
Hm. I actually noticed some users with gif avatars so I do believe they're accepted. I think there's a specific gif size they take but other than that, I'm positive that gif images are accepted daily and can actually be quite fun to watch! I normally enjoy gif avatar's more than regular stagnant avatars either way. I do recommend speaking to a moderator of sorts if there indeed is a size limitation for gif avatars.

He uses the Split Infinity Bot.

Here's another one for your list, ~1350 two line vapid posts at 20 per day since he bought the account.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=109693

I have also neg trusted him (big deal) because he is posting "advice" with no justification, and I think that purely spam posting qualifies as a scam.
2104  Other / Meta / Re: Public list of yobit spammers(this one's gonna be long boys) on: March 20, 2016, 10:28:06 PM
They are everywhere, especially on vague threads tailored made for their vacuous one liners.
Like this one, look at the history of any of the last few Yobit posters spammers, farmed/bought accounts hitting 20+ meaningless one/two liners a day.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1165958.msg14218716#msg14218716

Mods should have the power to close these useless threads when they see that they are purely sig spamming venues with no constructive function.
2105  Economy / Speculation / Re: MMM affect bitcoin price on: March 20, 2016, 06:32:34 PM
MMMGlobal website claims 200 million users worldwide. Crazy.... But, just for the exercise, let's reduce that by a factor of 10.....

So, say 20,000,000 people want to play, only Bitcoin allowed.
IF the MMM scheme has required $100 original stake money from each of 20,000,000 people since 2011, that's $2bn in the basic system. It can't be any less, as the scheme would implode as soon as the amount of cash circulating dropped.

Bitcoin's current market cap ~$6bn.....
2106  Economy / Speculation / Re: MMM affect bitcoin price on: March 20, 2016, 06:14:45 PM
MMM has no effect on the bitcoin price.

May I know your opinion why?

Maybe because ... It's a "too" big market to get effect from a ponzi site....

Q: How big is the liquid Bitcoin market?
A. Not as big as you think.

Q. How big is MMM's use of Bitcoin?
A. A lot bigger than you'd like to think.....
2107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving - Will we see a new price high? on: March 20, 2016, 05:47:33 PM
There's too many people just expecting/assuming a price rise for my liking.

Irl trading I always look out for "Buy the rumor, Sell the news" scenarios and should the BTC price have an upward spike towards 600-700 just before the halving, then I will be selling into it, up to 50% of my holding.
The cost basis of the Chinese miners makes this a neutral event imo, only the hype provides a trading opportunity.

Right now there is 3600 coins made everyday. After halving there will be only 1800 coins made per day.
If half of the coins mined are sold when they are mined then there will be 369 000$ less sells per day after halving.
And why would people stop buying after halving? So obviously price will go up because there will be about as much buying as before but less selling,
because miners can't sell as much as they sold before.

Yes, I understand the conventional logic. We shall see how logical the Bitcoin market is.

2109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLUB] ClubCoin - Roadmap announced shortly on: March 20, 2016, 02:43:06 PM

The weird part about Clubcoin's community and well, I guess the 'state of altcoins' is basically it is quiet. Tumbleweed quiet. It is proving a challenge pulling the majority of Clubcoin holders (Bitclub members) into the forums, reddit, IRC, you name it. They won't budge and prefer the weekly newsletter that they get in their mailbox. They also prefer the method of e-mail / Skype, a lot of one-on-one communication over concerns. It feels pretty anti-community and instead of community members and other people also answering questions, it all falls upon me. So, the challenge is to build up communities in these areas and hopefully entice more discussion!

The only real discussion that is taking place is in the Facebook group (yuk).

The problem you have there is that the vast majority of BitClub Network investors were/are crypto-virgins with a pyramid investment mentality.
They got fomo sold a deal with terrible ROI and, unless they're into the MLM matrix side of it, are going to be realizing soon that they're only earning pennies back (unless the BTC price rises). They will mentally throw it in a drawer along with the dietary supplements, self help to success books and the other stuff they are prone to buying.

Club coin won't compute at all with them. Free stuff isn't playing the MLM game and all they'll do is dump it. Decentralization is just a buzz word to them which vaguely means Bitcoin is good and the price will go up. It's solely about $$$ values to them.
By definition, the pyramid environment from which they come is essentially centralized. When you start talking about 'community' or 'involvement' on anything but an instant reward basis, their eyes will glaze over. BitClub was sold as a "passive earning opportunity" for a reason.
The BCN shills are already moving on to bigger and better, MMM and ETH.  Cheesy
2110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's get rid of OneCoin on: March 19, 2016, 12:03:32 PM
I don't think it's something the community has to actively do something about--most of these shitcoins just burn themselves to the ground within months of launc.  Look at that one on Yobit, SLVI or whatever it is.  It lost 99% of its value overnight.  It was one of the coins they give away and it was something like a 1800% gainer in the past few days.  Funny but that's what happens.

this seems a MLM masked by a crypto coin.
there is no market cap.... and they spread the same words of classic pyramid scheme ....
Sad it's really sad that they link such scam to "the top" technology of crypto currencies: BITCOIN!

Yeah, this is not your average shitcoin created for a P&D by a few neckbeards.
It is the MLM industry using a combination of ignorance and greed to get Joe Public to fomo jump on the crypto train, and in their thousands.
Just like MMMGlobal (and to an extent BitClub Network), this is likely to have been the first crypto involvement for a lot of people.
Big negative "guilt by association" coming up for Bitcoin, when this stuff implodes.

The only exchange to offer a Onecoin rate, http://xcoinx.com/ , which is owned by the onecoin scammers, is still "shut for maintenance" past its 2 week reopen deadline.
It currently shows Onecoin "worth" $6.3535 each, giving a market cap of $ 3,727,495,273  Cheesy Cheesy
Miss Piggy and chums also just bought out a Brazilian pyramid scheme and suspended their Mastercard loading functionality (the only way to get commission converted into real money).

Quote
Dear Member,

Please note that due to a system upgrade, which we are processing together with the issuing bank of Mastercard OneCoin cards, both the approval of new card requests and the card loading functionality are temporarily suspended.

As soon as the upgrade is completed we will keep you duly notified.

There is absolutely no way to convert Onecoin into anything else now.

Exit strategy for Miss Piggy and her selection of EuroTrash pumpers, I reckon.
2111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: March 19, 2016, 11:06:35 AM
I think CLD mine and hash ocean is the most trusty and give you good profit  , there are many other sites but the problem is they are not trusty .
Loan lending is quite good in investment. It is profitable. but it is quite risky because we do not know clearly who we are going to lend the bitcoin. must happen first mutual trust here.

According to your bought account profile, you've never lent anything, so what qualifies you to comment?
Fucking Yobit spam.

Oh, boy...either they want to attach themselves to new 'hot" alt, or they hope that bitcoin will go back to GPUs.
BTW, deploying 50kw on ethereum would mean just 200 GPUs for $60000.

I love the "Forward Looking Statements" disclaimer on this sort of stuff.

I guess everyone and their uncle will be sniffing around ETH looking for an angle, the crowd in my sig have sold (according to them) $1m worth of Ethereum cloud mining contracts in the last couple of days.

Somebody more intelligent than me do an ELI5 on the "Asic proof" aspect pls, or point me to one?
Sorry to hijack this weird thread even more, time for a link from Guy about something important around about now isn't it?..

And why would you think that, Mr. oneline answer Yobit spammer, what is your definition of "trusty"?
2115  Economy / Speculation / Re: MMM affect bitcoin price on: March 17, 2016, 04:31:30 PM
Actual reliable numbers are very hard to come by, but the various MMM sites claim huge followings.
Many Facebook sites are active, with happy 'receivers of help' posting pictures of new cars etc. Because it is peer to peer, there's no centralized wallet addresses to check.
Do some searching, there's plenty of stuff out there.

That's right again sir. MMM has no middlemen, their work is just getting those who's going to deposit and assign it to someone who's going to cash-out

Yeah, stuff like this interests me from a psychological angle. I have been following the progress of Mr. Mavrodi for a while, a very clever man. Crazy, but clever.

I thought MMM stopped operations last year. Is it still running?

Very much so.
2118  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean.com - Cloud Mining Service on: March 16, 2016, 03:19:10 PM
Hashocean can be trusted by the way.

Trusted in what way?
Trusted to stop paying out when they run out of new investors, or trusted to be actually mining and legitimate?
2119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining promoted by Dumbest Fucks ever on: March 16, 2016, 12:32:40 PM
Is it just me, or does anyone else think tmfp's trust looks pretty good? What am I missing?

I think the implication is that I am a yet another meddling sad interfering loser, cruising the interwebs 24/7 looking to harrass innocent scammers investors libertarians as a self appointed Guardian of Truth and Justice, while my neckbeard grows ever longer and my basement fills with pizza boxes and my long suffering family refer to me in hushed voices. Something like that.
Oh noes, he got me!  Cry my life is over......
2120  Economy / Speculation / Re: MMM affect bitcoin price on: March 16, 2016, 12:14:29 PM
Everyone's getting very defensive/protective about their beloved Bitcoin.

How about addressing the OP's point with a bit of logic?

FACT: MMMGlobal users must use Bitcoin in order to participate.
FACT: There are hundreds of thousands of them, if not millions, worldwide.
FACT: In the main, they appear to have no previous history of interest in Bitcoin.
FACT: The popularity of MMMGlobal has increased considerably since October 15.
FACT: The Bitcoin price has increased considerably since October 15.

Assuming MMM was largely responsible for the rise in BTC price in October/November, why did it stop correlating from mid-December onwards?

I'm not claiming to have all the answers, but the timeline suggests that the November spike could have been Chinese MMMGlobal inspired and the drop correlating with MMMChina freezing and bitcoin being pulled out of Global as well.
The continuation of the rise after the pullback could be inspired by the take up of Global in other countries, mainly Asia and South Africa.
