Urgent Statement by Igor Strelkov and Vladimir Antjufeev, Donetsk, July 31, 2014
Briefing: Kiev Preparing SRBM Strikes to Cause an Ecological Catastrophe

Briefing by Igor Strelkov and Vladimir Antyufeev, July 31, 2014, Donetsk

Translated from Russian by the Team of the Vineyard of the Saker

The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Minister of defense Igor Strelkov held a special briefing where he reported that according to DPR’s intelligence Ukraine punitive operation forces are planning monstrous acts of terrorism on the territory of Donbass.

Kiev plans attacks on chlorine and ammonia factories.

Quote
“The intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of People’s Republic of Donetsk has informed me that the contender Ukrainian chastener troops prepare big provocation which should result in declaration of DPR as a terrorist organization. They want to blame us in terrorism and killing the civilian population,” – Strelkov said. “The idea is so monstrous that it is probably hard to believe, especially it is hard to believe for those who hasn’t seen the bombardment of populated areas by phosphorous bombs; who hasn’t seen people injured by chemical weapon; who hasn’t seen how howitzers were shooting at the city center, where the militia headquarters was located, who hasn’t seen how mines and missiles were falling in a few meters from our headquarters and soon after Ukrainian mass media telling that we were shooting at ourselves. Shameless continuous, I would even say phantasmagoric lies, which is spreaded by Ukranian mass media, and cruel barbaric actions of the Ukraine punitive operation forces show us that nothing is sacred to them. ” – he said.

Also, from a comment:

Quote
This talks about plans for missile attacks on chlorine and ammonia stores to cause massive deaths. I want to make the following suggestions (taken from instructions given for similar gas leak tragedy in Bhopal, India). If there is a spread of either chlorine or ammonia, people should soak towels or bedsheets in water and wrap themselves, taking care to cover face, keep eyes partially closed, blink often and to breath through the wet cloth. Both the gases readily dissolve in water and thus will not affect the membranes of the eyes and nose. The danger would be if there is no water available. So just as a precaution people should store water in or near their homes.

From the 5th of August Ukraine will turn into a concentration camp

"On the 30th of July in Ljubotina, 6 busses stop near supermarket ATB, about 15 men exited, dressed in masks and machine guns, rounded up all men aged 18-60 currently in the supermarket and drove them away.

In the evening, 3 hours ago, near stop "Saljut" several young men who were waiting to a tram, were taken away.
Yesterday, on Bezljudovskij beach all men were taken away, right in their swimming trunks. In addition a few fishermen were rounded up - their were also taken to conscription stations.

Leant today from a reliable source that from the 5th of August the border with Russian Federation wil be completely closed off - none of the men will be allowed to exit. 3000 National guards come to Harkov to ensure total mobilisation. The town administration is ordered to station them in other people's houses. Each region is given an order to provide a certain number of vehicles and fill them with fuel. The plan for conscription fro, Harkov - 10000 men.

They will go door-to-door rounds with 2-3 guards armed with machine guns accompanying a representative from conscription points. Everyone aged 18-60 will be taken right out of their apartments! Without medical accreditation! People are scared of such lawlessness and don't know what to do.

None of the conscripts will be given firearms here. Everyone will be driven to the "antiterrorist operation zone" and only given arms and munitions there. Men from the East will be sent to the most dangerous stretches of the front, so that they'll be sure to die. National Guard will be stationed behind and will shoot anyone who refuses to shoot at freedom fighters or to desert. The information is, again, received from very trustworthy sources, of which I cannot write here."

Everyone has a choice: either start fighting for Novorossia or to become cannon fodder for the National guard. There is no third option. That's it. How can one not remember the words of Victor Tsoi's song: "Wherever you are, whatever you do - between earth and heaven there is war."

Regardless of who started the war, all its citizen have the responsibility to defend their country.

If they don't like the war, throw out the current leadership.

In a Civil war both sides are defending their country. People of Donbass defend their land and homes on home turf, so to speak. People of West Ukraine defend their access to natural resources and labour of people of Donbass by invading the land in the East.

So, the current Ukraine conflict has something to do with them refusing to pay the gas price hike?

In a way yes, but it's more of a result than a cause. Stubborn refusal to pay is one component. An interesting read here:

Now read this (also German) article by defence expert Bernd Biederman, who offers equally sound reasons why the shooting down could NOT have been from a surface to air missile:

‘ the shooting down of the Malaysian Boeing on July 17 in the Eastern Ukraine “could not have been hit by a surface to air defense missile” .

This is the assessment of retired Colonel Bernd Biedermann in an article for the daily newspaper published in Berlin “new Germany” (Thursday edition). Had splinters from a surface to air missile hit the plane, it would have immediately caught fire, argues the NVA anti-aircraft missile specialist. His reasoning is because of the “enormous frictional heat that the splinters generate on penetrating the fuselage. A single splinter contains the same kinetic energy as a 40-ton freight car hitting the buffers at 60 kilometers per hour.” In the case of the Malaysian Boeing, scattered fires had broken out after the impact with the ground, because hot debris from the aircraft had come in contact with combustible materials.

...

Biedermann is familiar with Soviet and Russian air defense technology, he led units in the duty officer system in East Germany and taught at the Military Academy in the field of anti-aircraft missile troops.’

Russia must pay $2.51 bn (€1.87 bn) in compensation to the former shareholders of Yukos, once Russia's largest private oil company, for unfair tax proceedings. The European Court of Human Rights has also ruled Russia must pay €300,000 in legal costs.

Russia will also need to produce “a comprehensive plan for distribution of the award of just satisfaction” within the coming six months, according to the ruling published Thursday.

So, a tax evader, who invested in a fraudulent company should get compensation because his investment should have been a risk-free 1000% profit?

Also, again, very convenient timing for this second ruling from another court, as if orchestrated.

It looks like "the right to defraud a county" is now a part of human rights, if that case was treated in the Human Rights court.

The Investigative Committee operatives are currently probing alleged mortar attacks by Ukraine on Russia that have taken place since the beginning of the summer. According to preliminary data, the Ukrainians fired at least 45 mortar shells at targets located inside the Rostov-on-Don region, destroying a number of houses and forcing people from their homes.

“Again I commanded our people to withdraw every time there is a threat to their lives. We should not lose a single person in this difficult period,” the head of the Investigation Committee said at the Thursday conference dedicated to the Day of Investigators holiday.

A group of journalists have lodged an official proposal to award Vladimir Putin with the honorary title Hero of Russia for his uncompromising defense of the national interest and support of ethnic Russians as well as for supporting the freedom of speech.

The move has been initiated by Konstantin Pronyakin from the city of Khabarovsk, a correspondent with the popular nationwide daily Moskovsky Komsomolets.

...

The backers of the initiative claim that Putin deserves this because of his “heroic decision made in difficult times to support the compatriots and brotherly nations of the Crimean Peninsula,” expressed in the signing of the Federal law on the accession of the Crimean Republic and the Sevastopol city into the Russian Federation.

The journalists also praise Putin’s input into maintaining Russia’s territorial integrity, his solid stance in defending Russia’s national interests on the international arena and the “declaration of the freedom of expression within the framework of the law.”

Clever, strong, modest and with a vision for the future.

And then imagine all of the world powers have persons like Obama or his poodle Cameron in charge - WW3 would be a sure thing.

Russia fears Kiev trying to destroy implicating MH17 evidence
http://rt.com/news/176864-ukraine-mh17-evidence-churkin/

Quote
Kiev authorities may be seeking to “destroy evidence” which implicates their role in the crash of the Malaysian jet, Russia's UN envoy Vitaly Churkin said, expressing concerns over the ongoing military operation in E. Ukraine in breach of UN resolution.

According to Churkin, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko promised a cease-fire in the disaster area,“but this promise was immediately broken, while Ukrainian officials have publicly announced a new task – to cleanse of the militias and take control of this territory," Churkin said in New York.

Such actions directly violate UN Security Council resolution 2166, which calls for a ceasefire and for thorough and impartial investigation into the Boeing tragedy under the ICAO umbrella, Churkin added.

“We fear that Kiev authorities are moved by the intention to destroy evidence, implicating their role in the Malaysian airliner catastrophe,” Churkin said.

In order to ensure compliance with the ceasefire resolution and reinforce it, on Monday the Russian delegation to the UN proposed to adopt“a simple and unambiguous statement to the press.”

“However, [Russia’s proposal] was unceremoniously blocked by some members of the Security Council, clearly not interested in strict compliance with resolution 2166,” Churkin explained.

Russian Aggression Prevention Act Seems Designed to Provoke Russian Aggression
http://www.activistpost.com/2014/07/russian-aggression-prevention-act-could.html#!bpPX1v

Quote
Although there has yet to be any proof of “Russian Aggression” surrounding the Ukrainian situation in general and the Malaysian flight shoot down more specifically, the general public of the Western world (at least those that actually watch TV news) is consumed with paranoia over a new Russian threat to world democracy. In their minds, that threat is marching westward in the Stalinesque or Hitlerian model (depending on the mode of propaganda being pushed that day) with the ultimate goal of world domination.

Of course, this paranoia has been developed and crafted by the propaganda mill of Western media outlets and NATO governments designed to establish a new Cold War with Russia and, eventually, a much hotter one.

Thus, while “evidence” of Russia’s guilt surrounding the Malaysian flight, which is based entirely on YouTube and Twitter, is being repeated ad nauseum on Western media outlets, members of Congress are by no means going to be left out of the action. Indeed, before the drums of war can even begin to beat loudly enough to be heard by the general population, American Congressmen are seeking to craft legislation that will enable that war to take place as soon as possible.

Such is the case with Senate Bill 2277, also known as The Russian Aggression Prevention Act.

I was going to post it in the Is the West gearing up to invade Russia thread, but I think this serious issue deserves a separate topic. I'll just post short notices there.

Quote
Title II is a bit more aggressive, however. Entitled “Deterring Further Russian Aggression In Europe,” Title II provides for the implementation of sanctions against Russia if the Russians do not meet the unreasonable requirements of withdrawal from Crimea. Further sanctions are also provided for in the event of any further phantom “Russian Aggression.” Title II would also provide for financial and diplomatic support for “Russian Democracy and Civil Society Organizations.” Of course, one can clearly translate this “Russian Democracy and Civil Society Organizations” to mean the NGO, color revolution, and destabilization apparatus which was used in the Arab Spring, and the string of “People Power” revolutions across Eastern Europe in the late '90s to mid 2000s.

Indeed, this is the same apparatus that was responsible for the Euromaidan Ukrainian color revolution which set the wheels in motion for confrontation with Russia over Ukraine to begin with. This color revolution apparatus is currently stationed all throughout Russia waiting to come alive at the proper time. Only recently, during the tenure of President Putin, has Russia taken any steps to remove some of these organizations from their positions of stealth and power.

Crimea: Russia fought 3 wars (1812, 1854 ans 1944) and a number of lesser skirmishes to retain that territory for longer than US existed, but still the US seems hell bent on implementing the Napoleonic plan, probably with the same consequences.

As for the colour revolutions, financed by the West. It was already attempted once: the Bolotnaja Square demonstrations. The courts are still processing the instigators, and the money trail definitely points westwards.

From your comment I get a feeling that you have a cognitive dissonance: Either consciously or unconsciously you still set an equality sign between Soviet Union and today's Russia. Credence is something that has to be earned, and Soviet Union was on quite many occasions didn't give grounds to credence. Russia, on the other hand, after having freed itself from the Soviet Union, where it had little to say, and of Yeltsin's sell-out, has been busy building bridges both economical and cultural on the international arena, expecting to be equals with other nations, while being open in what it does and what it expects. In a way politically today's Russia is picking up after where it was forced to leave off before WWI in 1914...
